Wow you saved my day. I worked all day on trying to get this together but when you showed that you put it on with that small pin in before hand it made all the difference. Many thanks!
When is a Husqvarna not a Husqvarna? When it's a Poulin! I have been searching for a video of this for ever but as Poulin and I just couldn't find one! Plenty of people wanting to sell me a complete chain brake assembly, but none on repairing the thing. I decided to give it one last shot ... and searched for simply chainsaw chain brake and up came several Husqvarna ones ... one of which was the 3 toothed circle kind, and then I saw this one and searched a bit further and found this! Thank you thank you thank you. Clearly there are very few chainsaw makers in reality. and the only differerence is colour and label!!! BTW mine is a Poulin 2150 "Woodsman"
Saved me tons! Bought a farmhand for 20$ and was missing the whole chainbrake assembly, 13$ on amazon and its mint along with new fuel line and diaphragm for the carb
Thank you for this, you´ve helped someone in Portugal! I was having serious dificulties in putting the spring back on because i wasn´t placing the mechanism correctly.
Thanks for that. Very helpful and informative. The only difference with mine was that I didn't need to carefully prise out the spring; it shot across the workshop at about 90mph when I removed its cover! ha ha.
This video helped me a lot to replace both broken springs (incl the black one on top) on my Partner 365, which has the same Husqie construction & parts. I first tried on my owm but couldn't get the handle in place after I mounted the big spring first. I could not easily take out the broken brake band, since it had a snug fit split pen, but this can be pushed out through a small hole in the plastic cover, same hole in the Husqies
Really helpful thanks. Also applies to the 141 model. I would like to add two extra points to watch. (1) when you unscrew the cover over the spring be prepared for it to try to fly out. And the same when you press it back in. Really annoying if you lose it! (2) check that the new band is not rubbing or it will wear out very quickly. A bit of dirt or burnt plastic can sit behind it and push it onto the drum. I learned both these the hard way!
Great video..helped me a lot! I'm having some trouble with the lock and unlock mechanism and suspect it's to do with the spring inside the handle. It's one weird azz spring. Can you add to the video to show the proper orientation of that spring. The saw was trashed and I decided to save it. After a carb rebuild it runs like a champ, but that goofy chain brake is driving me crazy...
+Tupelo Woodcarver Thanks, I had to look a the video and you are right, I know what your talking about, ya that was a pain, I will take a look and see if i can put something together.
You can get the scroow out of the inside case mine is on the outside every thing goes around when I try to unscrew it can you please show me how to get it out thanks 👍
Very good video...I have the 141 model pretty much identical this will help me out in the future when ever I need to replace the band on mine, thanks much for the posting👍👍
There is a spring inside the handle that keeps the handle tight against brake mechanism. Someone B 4 me took it out and now I am having trouble figuring out how it goes back in. Husky drawings not helpful, as they show wrong alignment. Could U take a look inside that handle for me?
Quick and easy way to reset the brake band if you dont want to take off the handle. A 13s video is worth more than lots of words... Short Video: FAST AND EASY - Reset Husqvarna Chain Brake - Even One Handed!!
very helpfull! I’ve saved time, thanks,

is this procedure the same on a Husqvarna 55 Rancher? I hope it is thx
I am not sure? Sorry, I would think that it would be about the same being in the Husqvarna family.
How is the spring inserted in the handle? Mine fell out and I haven’t been able to make this brake work.
thanks
