my home airport, done this approach dozens of times in everything from beautiful weather like this to pissing sleet and 40 knot winds. Plus a couple go-arounds and overheads
I agree haha. This is my favorite landing. That I've ever been on! And that's saying a lot, because I've landed in some pretty awesome, beautiful, and cool places.
@@sla31 It was so amazing! We went to (Sitka, Juneau, Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), and Ketchikan) We also went through Endicott Arm where there are a bunch of glaciers! Highly recommend!!
Wow! Young man you've outdone yourself getting one of the most beautiful and stunning landing videos I've ever seen including all of your previous videos! Truly amazing and stunning 😍 well done!! More of these takes off and landings please 😊
@sla31 Yes I absolutely loved it! So relaxing and exciting all in the same breath! But then again, your videos are hands down the best on RUclips! Keep up the great work my friend! If you ever fund your way to NAIA in Manila hahaha 😆 look me up and I'll buy you a cup if Native coffee ☕️ 😉 Been living full time in the Philippines 🇵🇭 in Bacolod City now the past years after retirement from LAPD! Stay safe young man.
O’ my days, absolutely jaw dropping views buddy. What a treat. Hard to believe there’s snow when it’s the middle of summer here in the UK. Thanks for sharing with us mate.
WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!! Great views!! Glad the weather cooperated for you, especially considering that you did this in mid-June. The weather us usually nice in May and early June, but after that, it goes downhill in SE AK. Anyhow, now's the time for you to make plans to see the solar eclipse in April 2024.
@@sla31 We're only going to get 20% coverage in Western WA. Back in 2017, we had 91%. It was as if someone had put a huge sun glass up in the sky. The temperature literally dropped 4 or 5 degrees, felt MUCH cooler and so did the sun's rays. Yes, I did indeed take photos of this historic event. My friend and her husband went to Jackson Hole to watch the total eclipse. Looks like Dallas and Waco will get total coverage this time. And SE Missouri will have the interesting privilege of getting 100% both this time and also back in 2017. Lucky them! In any case, since you say you're not that far from Joplin, you will have much more coverage than we will in the PNW.
First and a great flight! I heard that you're 6'02" tall according to your reply. What if I tell you that I am 5'03" tall at 22 years old and my mom is 5'00" tall at 50 years old? For reference, the average Vietnamese person's height is 5'03", men are 5'05" tall and women are 5'00" tall.
I know I've answered this in several other comments, but in case other people see this and want to know. Well, I certainly do get asked this a lot. And the answer is kind of complicated, but I'll try to shorten it up haha. I have several avenues I use to help cover my expenses. The ad revenues form RUclips, my channel Patreons and members, using points & miles, and generally trying to avoid places during their peak seasons. I also do not work for the airlines, and I don't have a relative who does. So I don't fly for free. I pay for everything you see on here out of my own pocket. Now, I've run this channel by myself now for 9 years. And for the first 6 years, I didn't make a single penny. I was spending my own money, every month, just to take flights to post on here. So for the first 7 years, I spent my own disposable income on this channel. The last 2 years, it's actually changed. The channel has gotten big enough, and it generates enough watch time every month, were I typically make enough off the ad revenues to at least pay for all of my flights. Some months I even make a little extra. So now, after pumping literally thousands and thousands of dollars per year into it, it's finally starting to pay me back. Broken down a bit father, the main income I get is the ad revenues from RUclips, and it's not even close. That's easily the biggest income I have every month. Then I also have roughly 60 channel members and Patreons that also contribute small amounts per month to help ensure I can continue to make new content. I also then do some freelance video creating and article writing for aviation websites that also help me pay the bills. And that's how I pay for stuff now.
Sitka is the most beautiful location I’ve been blessed to visit in my life. Absolutely stunning.
I agree 100%. Only... In my life haha.
Alaska has some really beautiful locations with stunning scenery. The more I see of Alaska, the more I wanna go.
Awesome views especially starting at 09:18. Super smooth landing. Thanks
Alaska Airlines bringing that butter!!

One of my all time favorite approaches and airport to fly into. Love Sitka! Thanks for watching my friend!
All your Alaska flights are amazing but the Sitka ones are really something special! Great vid as always!
I agree. Sitka is my favorite city to fly into in Alaska.
Best one yet!!!

Thanks my friend. We had a nice 4th! I hope you had a good one too!
@@sla31 Thank you!! Yes, it was nice here. Some fireworks as I saw from my window.
I was just there on an alaska cruise, it is unbelievable!
Indeed it is! Although I've been to Alaska many times now to film for the channel, I've never taken a cruise up there. I'd love to do that someday !

@sla31 ABSOLUTELY 💯 Mr friend! Catch ya later alligator after a while crocodile 🐊 🤪
What a beautiful landing!
Holy crap I wouldn't want to fly this approach at night in snow!
Yeah, that would be a bit unnerving wouldn't it haha?
Awesome video and spectacular views.

It is crazy. I'v been in Alaska on the summer solstice before, and it didn't even get dark and there was still snow on the mountains! Incredible!
10:10 to 10:30 offers the best views😊

I've heard hotel availability is already low for that event!

I'd say, that given the genetics of your mother and father, you're exactly as tall as you should lie.
How are you able to travel so frequently? What is your secret?
