For me, capri pants in the summer may not be fashionable, but they are functional. I am 70, and about 10 years ago my leg's shape began changing. I've developed lipomas in my upper calves, so capris cover them. I don't wear shorts, and capris help to keep me cooler than pants.

@@mikesamovarov4054 are we talking about the same item of clothing?? Capri pants to me are a slim fitting trouser, cropped to a couple of inches above the ankle bone. Like Audrey Hepburn was seen to wear in Funny Face for example. I spent 30 years in the beauty business being a stylist. I was a hairstylist. I tried to be positive and upbeat for my clients and make them look beautiful. I love my job because in the end ,people really look so much better when I got done. We were a full salon. You could get your hair done your nails done ,a massage facials everything. I still do everything even though I’m not working anymore. The best part of my day is going to the salon or to the spa. Makes you feel like a whole different person. I agree about the Capri pants. Women my age in their 60s always wear those beige ones with a white top and they look hideous. I dislike leggings also. A lot of women wear them as pants and they look Ridiculous. Love your videos!

It's true tattoos are very personal for some, and sometimes people get them to help them through difficult events. And speaking of feeling good in your shoes, the older I get, the harder it is to find shoes that look good, don't hurt my feet, are slip proof and light enough that I can run around and jump in when I'm trying to catch a bus or train!

“Cankle” is when your ankle is indistinguishable from your calf: calf + ankle = cankle. To my immense horror, they developed on me like two minutes after I got pregnant; but lucky for me my regular ankles eventually returned (I spent nearly the entire nine months with my feet elevated), but while I had these “cankles” and as I could not function with my feet continuously in the air, I thanked the fashion industry every day 🙏🏼 for boot-cut, wide leg, and baby bell jeans. To this day, now 49 years later, I love my slim ankles and use them as a feature, most often wearing a dainty anklet to prettify them and show them off . . . But Never EVER By Wearing Capri Pants!!!

Omg! A "Karen" ran into me who was not Caucasian, but truly a Karen. I was in a parking lot, and realized this Karen wanted a spot that I was very close to, so I backed out creating space for her to back up into it, this happened twice so I could let her in. She became extremely impatient and sped off into a spot a few ahead. So I just pulled into her desired spot. Mind you, there were several spots open. She then came up to my car arguing about what happened. I told her I tried to back out twice to create the space so she could pull in, but then she just sped off. I honestly do not remember her excuses, a second time I told her I backed out twice to try to let her in, and there were many spots available. She screamed " but I wanted THAT spot!" All I could do was laugh & told how how stupid that was (I lost my cool in that moment). I have no idea what happened to her that led up to that moment, but I just shook my head. Poor Karen.

However, I don't like seeing a woman in an elegant dress with tattoos down her arms, on her back, chest or legs. I went to a black tie wedding recently and I saw so many girls with tattoos all over their bodies.

My main problem with tattoos is that they are permanent. Young people often do not realize how often we change our style, likes and dislike over time. This trend won’t go away because it can’t. Tattoos are being pushed everywhere and young people are so impressionable! Yes, it’s personal but there are so many other ways to wear or remember someone or some thing than tattoos.

I am so happy you addressed the whole "tattoo" issue - I got three tattoos (in my 50's) and people are SO JUDGEMENTAL. I did not like tattoos at all when I was younger and would have never imagined I would ever get one - THEN life changed - my three tattoos are very symbolic of extremely important times of personal strength in my life and I would not change them for anything. Every time I look at them they remind me of the strength I have within myself. Thank you for doing what you do - it does matter.

Capri pants!!!!! GAH! I live in a condo with many downsized Baby Boomers like myself. (I'm 71.) I swear, it seems that I am the only woman in the community that does not own a single pair of capris. It's the summer uniform here, along with colourful Birkenstocks. As soon as the weather warms up, the pastel and jewel-toned capris come out, usually with matchy-matchy floral-printed oversized polyester tunic tops.
    I just don't get it.
My neighbours say that they are "cool" and "comfy" but so are my cotton or linen midi-length (or longer) sun dresses, usually with elbow-length or longer sleeves because arm flab despite my being a serious weight trainer. I am not slim but I look more shapely than they do because I try to show off my curves with a belt and good underwear.
Is it a budget thing as they transition to fixed retirement incomes? I don't see why so. I'd rather have 2-4 good summer outfits than a wardrobe of cheaply-made capris and baggy tops. There are sooooo many good places to thrift in this big city.
And let's not even talk about the Bermuda shorts.

The idea I have of a "karen" is the white woman walking her dog in Central Park in New York who called the cops on a black man, for birdwatching. She was freaked out because he was black, and made up a story to tell the cops that he was threatening her, when he was not. This kind of behavior can get a person in real trouble.
I see that she was fired by her employer for her racist behavior, sued them for being fired, and lost. The decision was actually published just a few days ago.
Other "karens" have called the cops on black children selling bottled water at their lemonade stands in front of their houses, that sort of thing. To me, a "karen" is a privileged white woman using her white privilege to get people of color in trouble with the cops, in the hopes of ruining their lives.

The only thing that stopped me is that it's the name my late parents gave me and my disabled sister wouldn't be able to understand my name changing. I met a girl on a cruise who had the most beautiful, magnificent tattoo I had ever seen. It was a colorful depiction of a scene that could be out of the Pirates of the Caribbean. It featured this magnificent ship with sails, the krackin, the turbulent sea, and a variety of marine life. The scene extended from her back around her side and down her leg. I am not a fan of tattoos; however, this was the most beautiful expression of art on a body I have ever seen. She had the perfect skin to support this masterpiece and was just amazing! I am almost 70, and have never had or will have a tattoo. I was certainly not gifted with beautiful clear, flawless skin…I have sported freckles all my life. I do find tattoos done tastefully and appropriately to be quite attractive, but (imo), many people just go to the extreme and they just look unappealing….again, in my opinion. It’s all a personal choice and if it brings you joy…go for it!!!

It is absolutely stunning and the artist and I worked on the design together. It took nearly 2 years to complete. I’m now 51, do I regret it? Absolutely not! Funny thing is no one knows it’s there except me. I’m a professional at the top of my game and would be considered the most unlikely person to have a little tattoo let alone half my body. I am 64 and I have had people on RUclips comment that older women shouldn’t dress youthfully. I like to follow various videos and get advice from the influencers I think look nice such as yourself. I think if I stop caring about how I look, I will be not long for this world. My mother is 88 and still dresses fresh and stylish, her hair styled, etc., and she has never dressed like a granny…I like that! I have learned that big loud florals are aging, and capris aren’t doing me any favors, lol. This old dog CAN learn new tricks!

I wanted it very low down but when I met the guy who was doing it I decided I didn’t want him to go that low so it ended up just by my hip bone . Still makes me smile 😃..

I have a friend with several tattoos who is a marriage celebrant. The tattoos are in places that cannot be seen when performing her duties as a celebrant & some are in places that can only be seen when @ the beach or wearing thin summer clothing. As you say they are personal my friend has a family portrait tattooed on her, it is beautiful. Tattoos are not my cup of tea, but it is everyone’s personal choice & right to express themselves as they wish. Tattoos do NOT define a person in anyway. Great video TVM. 😘🌹

Tattoos are very personal. Even the latest trend of getting silly tatts that mean nothing are on the person for a reason. I don't see them as a big deal at all. I've been judged and even lost a job because of mine & I don't have many. It's weird to me that so many people take my personal story so personally lol.

Bonjour! *BRAVISSIMA* for the tattoos comment. When I was 22, I had cancer and emergency surgery. I was gutted like a fish from top to bottom and side to side. I was left with huge raised hard red-brown scars. When I was 42, to celebrate 20 years of survival, (and because now I could afford the quality of work I wanted done) I had a wonderful Tattoo Artiste from Tokyo work on my torso. It's covered in bright, colorful peonies--the Japanese symbols of strength. I'm 56 now, have a bit more of a tummy, still, the colors are bright and have not blurred. Part of this is, of course, because I don't expose it to the sun, but also because of the exquisite technique used. Yes, it is true, one never knows the meaning behind someone else's body art, and, like money, religion, and sexuality, it best left uncomented on. Merci!

Yet another excellent video, Frédérique, I love your philosophy and down-to-earth attitude! Your comments on tattoos are very interesting, I have 2 which I really love, but I want 1 more. I sometimes see people with tattoos that I personally dislike, but I would never comment, after all, as you say; their body, their choice. However, I think that getting tattoos is addictive, it's very, very, difficult just to get 1 and stop there, I wonder why that is? Have you noticed that? Anyway, merci for the great videos & for your positive, authentic and kind attitude!

Hi Frederique. Fun video, as always. I love the straight forward people, I am one of them and I know not everybody appreciates them but I prefer it over trying to always guess what a person actually meant to say. This doesn't refer to judging other people. I really don't care who's doing what with their lives. Each to their own. I have to say that I have exact same top as yours (from Zara) and you inspired me to wear it tomorrow. ❤On a positive note, there are lovely people and I ran into one of them yesterday. I was trying to choose a pair of sunglasses and a guy saw me trying 3 pairs. Although he was on the phone (using a blue tooth), he whispered to me to start put them on and he would tell me which one looks best (in his opinion). 😃 It was funny but I ended up buying the ones he also liked, I was already leaning towards them anyway but I appreciated a nice gesture from a stranger. Have a nice week! 😘

Your style videos are amazing for women in their 30 40 50 60 etc. I would love to see you do a style video for short (150 tall me) mature women who also happen to be overweight and have lost their way/ confidence with styling and make up . This was a great video. My hope is that it is the first of a series. Regarding tattoos, as an 80 year old, they are not my cup of tea, especially the full arm ones. My 21 year old granddaughter has a beautiful color tattoo covering most of her arm and shoulder. While it is beautiful now, all I can think of is how it is going to look when the skin wrinkles and loses the fat and collagen under it. Plus, how is it going to look under a wedding dress when she gets married? It makes her happy, so I keep quiet. Her happiness is 100% more important than my disapproval.

To each their own but I love my tat. It's a cresent moon laying on a bed of roses with a star hanging from its tip. Basically, always look for the beauty in life while reaching for the stars. And, most importantly, never forget you are an entity all your own shining your light for the world no matter how small you may feel. You are so very right, tattoos are personal. They are not there for other people. In fact, I ended up working in the studio where I got mine that whole summer. Until the fall semester at uni. I designed a few for people because they are personal; every one of them meant something to it's owner. They tell parts of the story of the person they are on.

I think my favourite part of this video is the tattoo issue. Got my first one at 21 on my bottom of a butterfly. Very personal as it expressed freedom to me. Each one is very personal. I totally agree with you in saying someone else's tattoo is not your business. What I would like to say is not to get your boy/girlfriend's name inked on your body as that tattoo might end up being more permanent than the relationship. And if you're thinking of a tribal or other language ink be absolutely 💯 positive of its meaning. you may unknowingly get Soup inked on permanently.

My understanding is that a Karen is the type of person who always complains and asks to speak to the Manager. It’s a phrase I hope goes away, especially for the sake of people with that name.
Yes I think the Gold Coast has it’s fair share of girls who want to look like clones. More so in Queensland than other States from what I’ve observed.
My daughter had lip fillers. She knew I wouldn’t be happy because things can go wrong. Then she had one which left her with a lump in one part of her lip. Fortunately it was corrected and she will never get it done again. I understand why she wants to get fillers one day. She frowns a lot and is getting the lines that come down towards the middle of the eyebrows. She says it will help her stop frowning. Generally I think it’s best to just highlight your best features.
I love your Breton top. Also, I noticed you holding your sunglasses. I need to replace mine. Any suggestions about trends? I want some that won’t look out of date in a few years time. My last pair were tortoise shell and they didn’t seem to look out of fashion even after several years. Unfortunately I had them on my head and they must’ve fallen off. Have you ever done a video on which shape suits different face shapes? Maybe you have. I’ve only recently discovered you so I have a lot to catch up on.
