Superman did it first, though. Saving Lois Lane in the late 70s early 80s, but Flash importance cannot be underestimated. Definitely redeemed the character and Ezra Miller’s earlier characterization.
Many people don't realise that he is not going back in time he is reversing time. It is the new power of flash that snyder talked about. Also many think he Entered the speed force, I think he didn't, he phased through the energy blast, so it didn't effect him.

I disagree, the film doesn't really demonstrate in any way that Barry reversing time had any consequences for himself or the universe at large. He can just do it whenever; it's like Barry has a "save the world" button and people are crying their eyes out because he decided to press it. And the motherboxes only had time to activate in the first place because the whole team didn't just gang up on Steppenwolf first to prevent him from smacking cyborg around and because a random turret gunner somehow managed to hit the fucking Flash going his fastest. I mean Barry could've circled around from further away to avoid being hit, it's not like it would've taken long for him to reach cyborg anyway. Most of the cuts made were fairly justified I'd say.

Just rewatched the movie again for the millionth time and this scene already has me going nuts. The way the music kicks in as soon as he phases is absolutely masterful.

For me this is the most powerful, spectacular scene in any comic movies that I’ve watched till now. The slow mo, score, effects, Barry’s monologue, everything is executed perfectly. If I had got chance to watch this in theaters for first time I would be jumping like a crazy maniac.

When ever Marvel fans talk about the comparison between Marvel and DC, they always talk about how Marvel characters are more relatable because they’re usually humans that acquire powers, when most DC characters are gods trying to be human. Well, Jay Garrick was the first hero in that same vein and Barry Allen’s Flash was the character to revitalise comic books in to what we now know as the silver age. He is the most relatable human hero with the powers of a god, capable of changing the history of the world or even the universe. LONG LIVE THE FLASH!
Marvel characters aren't relatable. Spiderman is a kid and he gets powers. His relatability ends there. You'll never get powers after a spider bite. DC is more realistic. Batman is the MOST realistic hero. He's just a man. No powers yet through sheer will he's taken on gods.
We know this was filmed and supposed to be in the theatrical version thanks to part of it being in the trailers... Then Joss was like nah, one of the greatest superhero scenes of all time... Not in my movie.

Barry cannot reverse time, he travelled back to the moment in which he was supposed to be at. What we saw was barry essentially reshaping reality around him by running through time.

Barry cannot reverse time, he travelled back to the moment in which he was supposed to be at. What we saw was barry essentially reshaping reality around him by running through time.

@@MrZohtan For Barry to do something like that he'd have to be in control of time which he isn't he can merely manipulate his time stamp through quantum tunneling allowing him to return to places where he was in the past or to journey to the future by running through time.
