You can collect lye from wood ash. Fill a trough with ash, add water and tip one end higher to cause the water to flow to one end and collect it as it drips. Save and run through ashes again to concentrate. Add a bit of salt to the soap mixture so that it will harden. Without sodium, the soap will remain liquid. The liquid soap will work too.

Haflong Vlogs but surely you could have shown the end result? Even if it didn't turn out? This is crazy and a total waste of time. Your husband (?) mentioned about the best way to learn was by making mistskes; so even if it didn't work you should have shown it.
To make soap you needed to warm the glycerine soap to melt it and then it would have set into bars of soap. There as many videos on RUclips of how to create lye from wood ash and water.
Hi, actually our process was not entirely correct. You have to add 'lye' or Sodium Hydroxide for the soap to harden. We learnt from our mistake. Sorry for failing to mention that. :)

MIKHÁEL Lye is organic. It is collected from wood ash. It is an alkaline substance. That’s all. Just the opposite of acid. Vinegar is acid. When the lye mixes with oil, saponification changes both the oil and lye into something we can use to clean with.
He couldn't have shown the final product although he wanted to because he was using potassium hydroxide which results in liquid soap instead of sodium hydroxide which gives a solid soap. And I don't think the coconut oil they used was properly measured with that of the sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide,else it will end up in a ruined product which is not a soap. And this information comes from a soaper for 3years.
You poor things. Sorry your soap didn't turn out. I would love to send you some or help you make your. Making soap is more a science than just throwing things together if you want it to work. Go to videos on Soap Queen. Get help for beginners. 😀 lots of luck to you.
this is someone who doesnt know how to make aloe vera soap. please be careful what you post, people believe everything they see on internet and this is a horribly made video. please make another when you have informed your self how to actually make a product.

if u roast the aloevera leaf on stove for 10-20 sec you will be able to peel off the leaf skin easily

But you have not shown how you have mixed the Pears Soap.Moreover adding lye is not a good idea,as this is not organic.
