💯 agree! I put on 10-15 sprays of a cheapie, it’s compliments galore. I put on 3-5 sprays of really nice niche fragrance and no one notices. If it’s a freshie 10-15 spray minimum if it’s a strong one don’t be afraid. You bought it to smell like it, so smell like it! Otherwise all you did was buy a pretty bottle!
David beckham respect was my most complimented fragrance for that reason cheap and not long lasting so I sprayed it more now cedrat boise is my most complimented and I do 7-8 sprays of that where originally I did 4-5 and I've had only 1 person say oh you smell strong in all my time wearing frags

In the first few minutes, of course it's gonna smell loud, especially with something like Sauvage where the sprayer is powerful. But the loudness won't last. the minimum I put is three to four sprays, and maximum I go for 5 to 6 sprays (depending on the strength of the fragrance), as for example my best fragrance and the one I love and use more QUORUM (Antonio Puig), I wear the aftershave and the cologne altogether then I do 2 splashes of the aftershave on my face after shaving and 3 sprays of the cologne, one on my chest and one on each collar bone ..............and I am set for the whole day as QUORUM is strong, deep, macho as hell and as it's a strong vintage fragrance I just need that quantity to feel good and keep me having that alpha macho scent for the whole day.

Have you considered that this could give olfactory fatigue? I mean, going with this number of sprays coud be why you everspray. You are always making your nose working and picking up the scent, leading into it being fatigued. And now, you need more for it to notice your fragrance. Maybe...
I think you also have to think of this from a scientific background as well. If we think of surface area. The larger the surface area the quicker the evaporation. So if you do 1 spray from a certain distance it can last longer or shorted depending how close you spray. I use this principle to cover the most amount of body, but with mores sprays so I don’t have to spray too close to the body and risk clothes staining or being too concentrated in just one area
I wanna see the video of you spraying more than 2 sprays of Spirit of Dubai Durra for example 😀 With Dubai second generation if you spray at least once around the neck area you will overwhelm yourself.
Thats about my application routine with the exception and condsideration of the spray applicator and quality & refinement of the fragrance which for me is almost always high end. Actually I don't think you can really overspray top shelf niche fragrances. Its the overwhelming induced alchohol and synthetic cheap shit that people will bitch about if you overspray!

Im generally 15+ no matter what type of fragrance todate no one has complained only compliments. If they are freshie i go even more. One imp fact is a fragrance is 80% alcohol most of the time. So how the hell is 3/ 4 sprays going to be enough its a waste of perfume . Tom Ford has said more is less in fragrance.
Roja dove and the creator of oud wood do a minimum of 15 sprays and they said it dependent on the frag. I go around 16 sprays for millisime Imperial, Oligarch and Bleu de Chanel, but only like 7-8 for Noir Extreme, Naxos etc

Did you put any on clothes? And did you feel like it was too much. Layton is my signature but It's not performing great

i get the most of my Bentley Intense man with only 3 sprays, 5 sprays with CDNIM, 4p sprays with my OudTouch Franck Olivier

I can't spray so much I suffer chronic Migraines so I don't use perfume much. I end up sick so bad .
I use sprays with the roll on oil that smell like it so just sprays 8-10 mixed with the oils
With 5 sprays i already got reactions like: 'you put too much perfume on' now imagine if i go with 10🤣
