I grew up in a scents /center family. I remember my father talking to me about how important it was to smell great and to have more than one fragrance to chose from. Great topic joel you killing it brother.
Ten to fifteen sprays applies to certain fragrances. You spray african leather, russian leather, herod, oud wood, tobacco oud,amouage etc. Any strong projecting fragrance you will clear a room & turn most people off. Most diptyques, floris, penhaligons(softer ones), auqa di parmas, are in most instances lighter in which 10-15 should work. Strong fragrances-5 sprays max.

Smelling stronger doesn't mean smelling better. If you don't get compliments it could be because people dislike the scent.
I agree Joel. I work in a warehouse for a auto supplier, a very clean warehouse. I am known as the good smelling Supervisor! I have about 22 workers and more than half actually smell, either BO or wet clothes stink. I do between 4-9 sprays, depending on what fragrance. YSL EDP is a 2-3 sprayer and that lasts all day! The best is when the female workers tell me I shouldn’t wear some scents, aka too sexy for work! Nice vid!

Solid video Joel. It’s the truth, I spray more and get more compliments plain and simple. You must know the fragrance you’re working with and it’s limits. I have yet to had someone complain that I have too much on

I'm rocking 10 sprays. I would like to do 15, but I fear my frags would run out quicker and I prefer to spend my cash on other things. I have Terre d'hermes and dior intense.
Agree 100%. I often wonder how people and reviewers even talk about 1 /2 sprays max. No perfume is ever going to project unless applied liberally. I normally spray more than 15. Dont get compliments always but people who notice.

Finally!!!! Someone who knows what their talking about! I have worn cologne for the last 28 years! And I spray a lot all over and I get compliments almost every day! And even if it’s not a scent their into they still say I smell good! Very few negatives I could prolly count in Two hands in the 28 years I’ve worn cologne the actual negative comments. Another point about compliments is I mainly get it from women then men. Joel is right many enjoy your fragrance but are not sure if you will accept them complimenting you or are too stuck up to be talking to a stranger

I agree most people don't spray enough to be smelled but the reality is when compliments are given they're given to the person the fragrance is the gateway. If someone doesn't want to compliment you they won't they will just acknowledge the fragrance to themself
It’s always sad and pretty lame that some people desire compliments for the fragrance being worn. And they are disappointed when they don’t get a compliment.

I spray 10 times minimum and I work in an office. I’ve never had someone complain about me wearing to much. I’ve had one day he didn’t like something I wore. Im wearing ATH Smoulder today and sprayed it 14 times.
I usually do 15. Most of them are under my clothes on my body with only a few on exposed areas of skin and or clothes. If I did 15 all on exposed areas I think that would be crazy but I could try it. Like you said I feel subconscious about it. Especially where I live it a high of 30°f everyday and like 18°f at night so we wear alot of clothes so most of it ends up on my skin but all under everything. If I did 15 it would have to be all on my jacket ? Or some on each layer of clothing ? Lol. Need a video on dealing with this In cold weather.
15? Sheesh lol my limit is 7-8 sprays. But honestly another factor is spraying it on clothes as well.
I've heard that there are a few frags that if you sprayed 15 sprays it would be just way too much, like Montale fragrances. 15 of one of those might put someone in the hospital with a sore nose.

100% CORRECT. I now spray minimum of 10 spays on neck and arms and it works. Thank you for help, sir! yeah, you thought about spraying your chest or your crotch at the last few example sprays...lol I do too! Trying 15 next!!

I do 6 to 9 sprays on clothes. 15? IMO that is too much. Go in any confined space with 15 sprays on it will not be met with compliments in general.
Spray as much as you want except earthy fragrances. I spraied terre d'hermes on me and for the first hour i was smelling like mud (in my opinion) which was really unpleasent... the dry down is nice doe.

Learning to appropriately dial back the number of sprays as one transitions from designers into niche fragrances is also an appreciated art.

I dare anyone to put 15 sprays of victorian tobacco from Galleria Parfums on then tell me that you didn't have to dedicate those clothes to that fragrance only becuase the smell just didn't go away. I sprayed 15 sprays in my shed and a month later I can still smell it. If you want a fragrance that lasts, by far, this is the most beast mode fragrance that I've ever put my nose to.
I think you need to look friendly approachable and dress well that’s here in the Uk anyway
If someone like Jeremy fragrance didn’t wear a fragrance he would still get compliments as they would automatically be thinking he would smell good !!

Cheap synthetic fragrances spray 10 times or more on the pants to prevent headaches for me lol

Im now doing 16 sprays from 3 to 5. 2 on back of neck. 2 on stomach and 6 on each arm. When I was doing sissy sprays i couldnt smell anything after an hour or two now i can smell for 6 or 7 hours.

Yep, i get why spraying more makes sense with mainstream scents, but what about more "challanging" scents. I just got "Ganymede" from Marc Anotoine Barros,which i like, but feel as though overspraying it might "offend" someone. So, should i go all in?

I like to spray on 5 spots. Sides of the neck more near back, back of the neck and on collar bones. What if i spray on these spots and after 10min i repeat routine? It will work better or 10 times on different places just work better?

I shower with rose scented shower gel (Rose jam) rose water shampoo, 15 sprays from either, Bleu, allure, la Nuite de Llome, Coach man, or aqua de Gio. Go shopping, Mall, Work, I Never ever get compliments from anyone. Im not completely unattractive. Where the Hell these compliments coming from?
The compliments aren't guaranteed and many people discussing fragrances do tend to exaggerate about getting compliments. The compliments come when they do, they can not be forced and there are also multiple factors at play which determine if you will receive a compliment. One of those factors at play would be the demographics where you live and how people living there act

Take note, guys and gals, he’s not giving each spot a full spray, not pressing the atomizer all the way down. It’s a good amount, but not a full one; 15 full sprays MIGHT be the line you don’t want to cross.

Yep under sprayer means less fragrance used and your wallet stays fuller...They over charge already for fragrances so if we spray more of that over priced fragrance we would half to go buy the over priced fragrance again and the vicious cycle keeps going on and on ....Get what i am putting down Joel....Just saying...
