I own a 2015 Phantom in the gray and black color scheme. It gets looks and it sounds great with the Vance and Hines pipes. These bikes are just the right amount of power and handle incredibly well.
Just bought my 2022 phantom last weekend and I’m absolutely loving it. I’m a new rider and it’s a super fun bike. Not to fast yet still has some pickup. Super comfortable ride for 6’3 210lb guy
@@Dirtwhistlegristle it’s a super fun bike my only complaint is when you’re at highway speeds it doesn’t have balls behind it but getting up to speed it’s pretty good for the weight it has and my size
Ein guter Kauf. Ich fahre meine seit 2011. Keine Probleme! Ich freue mich jedes Jahr, wenn es im Frühling wieder auf der Honda sitze...Du wirst Probleme haben, ein besseres Motorrad zu bekommen...have fun!!!
Honda Shadows are timeless classics. Haven't changed much through the years. Stout ride, diehard engine, and a good blank slate to load with aftermarket parts to taste.
I have the 2012. Very fun bike. It is an example how if something is working well, don't change it. Same model with no much changes for 13 years in a row.
I've had two Honda Shadow motorcycles and overall it's a great bike for commuting to work or even on the Interstate for a 350 mile trip. It has plenty of power and they are really nimble. I'm ridding a Kawasaki 900 Vulcan Classic LT right now and it has a little more power than the Shadow, but it's not as easy to maneuver in tight spaces at slower speeds.
@@matthewschutz7462 sadly haven't even put a 100 miles on it yet since my wrist had to get put into a cast. but i love every mile ive done on it. i come from a sportster. the phantom isn't a power house but its more than i need to comfortably cruise. i still need to do a long distance ride to see how the seat is. my butt hasn't become uncomfortable yet, but i haven't done any rides over 15 miles yet. the suspension feels leagues beyond harley so im not concerned about it.
@@matthewschutz7462 I recommend handle bar risers from EzRizer if you are tall. I was leaning forward ever so slightly. 2.5 inch risers put the handle bars in a perfect position for me. 6ft tall.
I want this bike so bad but I really want something that has ABS and Digital Speedometer/Gear Indicator. Chain Preferred. The color on this 2022 is amazing, all it needs is a different exchaust color and boom! Perfect Bike!
Waxahachie in the house! I ride my 2001 Shadow Ace to work everyday. Nice ride through downtown Waxahachie. Got tired of spending $100 plus a week in my truck. I think I spend around $10 every two weeks now lol. Really considering this new Phantom!
I just got a 2020 matte white phantom. They don’t sound crazy loud, but they do sound decent considering it’s a 750… honestly all ya gotta do is slap some better pipes on and you’re golden.
I've had my Shadow ACE 750 for 20 years. Got 64k k on it. With a faring and bags. They make a great solo touring bike. After the first 2 years. I had to put Barnett clutch spring in it.
Lol, "upgrade" Bro, and all you other tools, that use the word upgrade for MORE CCs. That's not an upgrade! It's more engine, different bike! Not upgrading. Y'all are so fukn stupid with that shit. Because you're to naive to realize that anything over 800cc is overkill and not an upgrade. There is a thing on every road called a speed limit, so 1100+ cc engine is pointless....unless you're wife is fat af and you need the power to lug her around
In the DFW area how does your Yamaha Bolt air cooled engine perform in the brutal summers. The Honda Shadow is a smaller displacement but liquid cooled engine. I like the bolt looking more like a metric sportster more so than the shadow but wonder if liquid cooled would be a better choice for summer riding.
Awesome! I don’t think there’s really much difference, Looks like they share the engines and possibly frame? No idea lol. If I get a chance to ride one I’ll definitely make a video about it! Thanks for the support!
So where I'm from you can be 14 to have a motorcycle license I'm bout to turn 15 I'm 6'2" 197lbs and was wanting this for my first bike cause I do wanna start on a cruiser that won't bog down while going up hill and I could get out of traffic would it be a good beginner bike I was also wanting a honda
Vanilla. Unchanged for 20 years except FI now. Plain performance, plain handling nothing special. But, huge aftermarket, totally reliable and cheap to own. I had an '09 Shadow Spirit that did everything I needed it to do and did it smoothly. Just needs something more to not be so vanilla. Then again most people like vanilla.
proud of my Magna V4 aka "the Harley killer". Honda should go their own way and not chase Harley Davidson by making motorcycles with lawnmower performance. In this the Harleys are unbeatable
Looking at different bikes to replace my Yamaha Super Tenere. It's a great bike, but kinda top heavy. The Phantom has shaft drive like my Super T, and has the more relaxed feet forward ergos. The Bolt is also on my radar....👍😺
Damn that thing is UGLEEEEE!!. Makes you want to throw up, then get a case of spray paint, and paint it pretty much any color besides flat black. I had a dark red and chrome (LOTS of chrome) Shadow 750 Aero for a couple of years. It was a beautiful bike, bright shiny paint, bright aluminum engine, and all that chrome. But after coming home on a tow truck three times in one year because of flat tube type tires (on beautiful chrome spoked wheels) I gave it up and got a bike with tubeless tires. Those three tow truck rides cost me over $1500. But at least it looked good, unlike that POS.
honda CRV k20 swap... big turbo... perfect.... like the Shadow too, i have a 93 vt600 chopped... SQUIREL!!! oops and bobbed wanna springer it with a big spoke big wheel....
Only 55 mpg? That's not bad but not very impressive either. I can get 55-60 mpg on my Honda CB1100 with more than twice the horsepower and torque and it too has only 5 speeds.
Please take your reviews more seriously; be prepared to address the audience with facts and an informed opinion. 1. Know the model history of the bike you are testing. 2. The Honda Phantom is a 5-speed motorcycle, not 6-speed. 3. The Phantom is a reasonably good commuter bike for many people but there are common complaints about it not being geared properly for extended cruising at highway speeds. You could have checked this out easily during your short test ride. 4. The shaft drive on the Phantom does not allow changing the gear ratio for lower the RPMs at cruising speeds (older chain drive VT750's can be re-geared to improve high speed cruising). 5. Use your familiarity with the Yamaha Bolt and compare with the Phantom for commuter vs. longer distance travel as well as other aspects of riding. 6. Many riders will be considering the Phantom vs Bolt as the list prices are not too different and the bikes are similar. Why buy one over the other? Dealers generally won’t talk about advantages and disadvantages of different bikes; but you can (you did mention that you liked the Bolt for the added power given your size). 7. People often go to RUclips reviews for advice, entertainment, and a seeing new things.
