Love the look of the car in blue. I haven't drive a Z4M coupe, but I have both the Z4M Roadster and a Cayman and they are quite different cars. The Cayman feels like it just wires itself into your brain and the car melts away. The Z4M, on the other hand, makes you very aware you are operating a machine. I love them both and feel quite fortunate to be able to pick between them.
Love the video dude! I have owned my Imola Red Z4MC for over a year now and absolutely still in love with it! I love seen the reviews of others on the car especially new owners! Excited to see more about it!
Love mine and I hate mine. When you're stuck behind people on the highway or in city traffic, the car gets annoying but on the open road, you can't beat it.
@@itnokedS54 and the transmission and short gearing make it feel kind of not smooth at low speeds. It feels like a caged animal. It’s not bad it’s a bit subjective. It’s not smoothed out like a modern M car is. The coupe has poor visibility in some angles but the roadster is good. Ride quality is on the harsher side, but it’s also quite subjective. To me, the drivetrain eagerness and short gearing is what makes it feel grumpy in traffic.
Nice review. I’ve had mine for over 12-years. Test drove a Cayman S at the time, but the Zed stayed in my head. I’ve never owned a car for this long before. Mines IB too.
Look forward to long term ownership videos of this Z4M along with the Tesla and CX-30! Maybe some comparison videos with the E46 M3/others would be great content as well!
i always struggle to accept the rigidity argument against roadster / coupe.... the roadster is more stiffer torsionally than the e46 m3 coupe...... no one calls them soft??? its stiffer than a lotus exige or elise in any iteration both with an ali tub chassis... no one calls them soft, honda s2000 is WAY down on torsional numbers, its a cult car. Honestly pick the one you want because i assure you, you wont be disappointed, i tried both coupe and roadster and went the open top route at the time when i brought one brand new! The coupe is double the stiffness no doubt and at some point that's going to help but sadly NEITHER is a particularly fantastic chassis in stock form ( with terrible stock suspension) and needs a fair bit spending to get it behaving like it should do. At the time, the roadster was beating all its competition , i remember an article by EVO where they pitted it against the boxster, s2000, alpine, and tvr tuscan and it came out TOP.... The z4m coupe never beat a group test at the time and was always second fiddle to the cayman. The z4m is imo a future classic , but a note to future owners, pick the one that works for you, open top or closed but don't listen to the soft vs hardcore, its just not accurate, in reality BOTH were blunt instruments from the factory, BUT theirs an incredible chassis waiting to be unlocked for e85/e86! i think one day these cars will be extremely expensive!, its going to take some time however!
Congrats on the new Z4M! Excited to see upcoming videos about it! I just got one recently too, and it is such a raw machine! Absolutely love it! I had driven manual probably a handful of time before getting it, so it has definitely been an experience getting accumulated lol. I need to work more on the 1-2 shift when starting to drive. As i am being cautious until things get up to temps. Things get smoother once warmed up, but it is a little scary prior when in traffic as i lose a lot of momentum. Any tips you might have? Wish you all the best with the new Z4M, I hope it brings many smiles per miles!!
I watched the top gear episode between the Z4 M coupe and the Porche P , and the Z4 was faster and had more features . Porche, as they described, took off more stuff out from the car and jacked up the price. BMW definitely looks more luxurious than the Porche, but the Porche handles a lot more stable . The Z4 is the hot 🌶
Really good quick review, capturing most of the key points. The steering rack and brakes are straight out of the E46 M3 CSL. Like another commenter, I also have a Porsche, a 997.1 Carrera 2 manual. They are very similar in performance but totally different in character. The Z4 is more raw and edgy, and more exciting, but the 911 is the more rounded driving experience, more refined, and better quality. Love them both 👌 I have several videos on the car over on my other channel (Audidude: ruclips.net/user/Audidude)
Same with the E46, it was emissions tuning, but mostly the placement of the cats in the headers vs europe where they were in section 1. This reduced power, thats why the most common mod for the S54 is oem euro headers.
Thank you for sharing your Z4 M ownership and driving experience with the RUclips community! Totally loved it!

Enjoy man. This thing rocks. Also, you have the perfect spec. Getting the wheel alignment right is the key to keep this car on the road.

Curious why you say that…visibility? Harsh ride? I have a GLA45 but I miss driving stick and was thinking about one of these…

1:46 sounds quite long to me tho…
Great vid, I'm looking at an M Coupe
With the Apex wheels on, when's the track day review coming up?
What rims are these? They look great!
Nice purchase, so you’re saying if I’m not a good driver I should go for 987.2 ?

'06 interlagos blue roadster in my garage .. wouldn't swap it for anything.

Nice video!
A great review, dead on point! I drive one aswell, same interlagos color. So US Z4M’s had 13hp less than in Europe, is it the extra cats?

What's the wheel and tire size set up? Looks right with the car.
Apex FL-5. Most likely 18x10 out back, 18x9 up front.
@@brentd8462 thank you! just got a set of 260m wheels for now, but these are on the list, they just look right.
Bro, throw in a csl style carbon fiber plenum.
E46 M ZCP in Interlagos Blue is even more ir just as rare as your M coupe
What's the phone holder you're using?
That is the ProClip holder for the E85/86 Z4.
It is Coupé, not Coupe. ☝️
Toyota tried hard to copy off this beauty but failed 😂 Supra😂
Ricey... an E46 M3... ok
A video about a car where you dont see the car. Strange.
