Watching this after 26 years driving stick badly

Agree with everything youve said. However over time, whilst reliability of an MX5 will be a given, so will rust, and really poor quality paintwork. The paint on these is really thin, and after only a few 1000 miles youll see a ridiculous amount of chipping, especially on the Soul Red. If you ever look at the paintwork on a 10 to 15 year old Porsche, its pretty good relatively. Also the thickness of panels on Porsches is very good; sometimes Miatas can feel a bit tinny build wise. But in terms of a sportscar to last, theres no competition, MX5 / RF is unbeatable.

I’ve had 4 different Miatas over the past 25 years as well as several 6 cylinder Boxsters and currently a 718 Boxster. I always come back to a Miata because of it’s simple uncomplicated brand of fun!

We bought our 2021 CX 30 Premium AWD in December 2020…..90% of it’s trips are short and our battery failed in 2022 replaced at Mazda’s expense….Our Polymetal grey CX30 has been flawless other then that with 21,000 miles on the clock now…No rattles or squeaks whatsoever…..Truly a Lexus class vehicle for my wife and I….The best looking SUV Mazda makes with it’s low profile body lines….Mazda has definitely stepped up their game….😎👍

James, I was thinking of getting a CX30 but after seeing there is a battery issue with some Mazdz 3's CX5'x, & CX30's, and since I mostly do short drives of 2.5 mile trips, I'm hesitant to do so. have you had further issues with that?

Thanks james for your updates and reviews. Got a new brand new 2024 Mazda cx-5 sport design, really enjoy it. Just the newer technology is kind, annoying but i will get use to it. The mazda warranty is worth it. Plus, a good turn on investment after 8-12 years.

I just passed 25,000 miles on my 2022. It is still absolutely perfect. No buzzes and no rattles. I have taken very long trips with it and driven it on some 'off-roads'. It still feels like new. I still hate the command wheel for the infotainment system, but I have learned to live with it. So far, I absolutely love my CX-30.

Definitely biased because you have soft top.

Soft top needs to clean out water drainage every 3-6 months. Get rid of the filter, bad design. Clogs up when pollen gets in. Personal experience. I’m looking for RF now.

What’s up James. I’m trying to decide whether i should get a DCT E92 M3 or a G42 230i (msport). Is the E92’s driving experience worth it enough to sacrifice reliability and MPG?

What amazes me is how many steps replacing this batt took. Replacing the batt on my 2010 Nissan fob is faster, simpler and more logical than what they’ve done with these fobs. I cannot imagine trying to replace a battery if I’m out on a rainy or freezing night , stranded and need to do this. Oh did I mention also, the packaging for these batteries have also become impenetrable. They seal it not just in a cardboard backed bubble, but they’ve completely encased the back and front of the battery in plastic so you need a pair of scissors to cut it free. Who has 1.tiny screwdriver set and 2. A pair of scissors just hanging out in their mazda?

The RF handles better on the mountain roads because it is heaviest. The rear end is less swirly.

my friend just bought a 2025 m3. i have a 2024 crv hybrid. considering the 2019 lr awd 63500 miles for $19200. the only i didn't like about it was when i was merging between some semis the car auto braked. was tight but i did have room.

James I have Y 2021 xx-30 preferred and I have 154127 Miles at the Moment so far so good… brakes, tires, that’s about it… seal on driver door slightly deteriorating and I noticed a slightly different sound when I close the door nothing big…

I daily use the DCHT from 3rd to 1st at stop. DC 6 to 3 on the highway to pass someone is very useful

Smart with the holes in the underpan so you dont have to remove the whole thing like on my Peugeot. But i always fill the new oilfiter before inserting it.

The “s curve” only looks cool from a few particular angles. From most other angles, it looks like a big dent.

Love my 23 CX-30 poly metal gray red interior , the gas tank seems to small could be 10- 13 gallons bigger .

i actually wanted to buy a honda civic. Then i found out that - due to the fact that in my country the only version of the civic is the phev - i am in the same price range as the mx-5 rf. Now i am really rethinking my almost fixed decision on the civic.

I could deal without having the strumming noise though . Just got mine today .

Having gone through cars with costly repairs, I wanted one that is reliable and fun to drive (which is why I did not get a Corolla). Been researching various sports cars for the past 14 years and thanks to RUclips, the Miata has an abundance of reviews. Bought a 2019 two years ago. It's fun at highway speeds and even at 5-10 mph at the parking lot (with an aftermarket exhaust).

I like my 1LE but I don't like it as much as I liked it when I first bought. It's just way to uncomfortable to use it regularly. It does beat me up after 20 minutes. Lol.
