    Music is healing. Kokoroko is such an amazing band. I’ve been listening to this concert a millions of times during hard times and it soothed me so many times. Come to Dublin please !!

    Always blown away by the kokoroko sound.. never heard afrojazz with such rich atmosphere

      I totally relate. The genre is called Afrobeat, not "afrobeats" but Afrobeat. It's originator is Fela Kuti, a legendary classically trained Nigerian artist known as the father of Afrobeat.
      Kokoroko's sound is somewhat a modernized and re-imagined version of Fela Kuti's sound. Hence, I say the genre is Afrobeat.

      @@gurusawa6517 oh yea its afrobeat, there's a clear inspiration from fela but the production and some of the jazz melodies felt modern enough for me to call it afrojazz. Whatever you call it, it's beautiful music

      ⁠it's still jazz, afrobeat is literally a mixture of jazz, funk, highlife and a bit of fuji elements

      People usually forget that there are more than 10 million Akan People in Côte d'Ivoire ( Ivory Coast)
