  • Hey Luxies✨,
As a licensed cosmetologist, I never usually use consumer products and direct my clients to use professional products that I recommend. Realizing that this may not always be super accessible, I wanted to give some of your faves a try! I decided to do a side by side comparison of ‪@TheDoux‬ Mousse Def Texture Foam & #camillerosenaturals Spiked Honey 4 in 1 Styler.
I purchased both at #target, however, both are also available to shop online.

I like both, I gotta try the Camille rose on a twist out. I did it on a wash n go but it left my hair soft and defined ❤️

Great finished look. Would it be possible to know how you maintain your twist out for the entire week? I swear mine turns back into an afro after a few days.

That depends on hair texture and lifestyle.

I’m definitely going to do a video on how I maintain my hair throughout the week!

Looks great! Quick Question - did you towel dry your hair before twisting? No need to add water when adding product? Can you also give some tips on your twist technique? While my twists look similar to yours once completed, taking them out the next day mine have much more frizz and less definition 😕

Yes! Always ALWAYS towel dry. I solely used the products to re saturate my hair. As far as twist technique, I section within the twists. Don’t borrow from stand top stand. That way the when you take the twist down, it’s separate, even in the twist and comes apart with ought disrupting the shape. This is the first of many videos so I’m sure a twist out video is to come 🖤

I would actually suggest to not towel dry your hair. Water is hydration, the best form of hydration there is

While it’s true that water is the best hydration, if your hair is soaking wet and you’re applying product, because the cuticle is already full of water, product won’t be received. You should towel dry and in some cases even rough dry (with a blow dryer) to allow the saturation (water) inside of the product to do it’s job. There’s always water in water based products so towel drying shouldn’t be avoided. That hydration is replenished through product.

The doux flakes on my hair

Make sure that your hair is super super clean before adding the foam. I only add a leave in spray before I add on my styler and never see flaking. Shampoo at least 3 times, clarify, stay away from oils and I think you’ll see a difference.

@@Cheveurier I had no flakes with the Camille rose foam, my hair likes it better.
