So the launcher directly from their website apparently works now.
It certainly didn't work when I tried to preload the game but hey, it is what it is LOL.
Yea, it only works from the website if you add it to steam, I personally found the website version had a smoother install

@@galeraf301 well, now you don’t have to sell your soul to epic games, also, it might just be me but I’ve found the game downloads quicker from website

I got a question. seeing as zzz on epic works on deck, would the epic version of genshin impact work as well or do I need to go off of the anime game launcher? should I use the anime game launcher over epic version?
I think nowadays you could use the epic version of genshin but tbh I'd still prefer the an anime launcher.

guys, how to make 1280x720 in full screen?
wierd thing happening to my game, it doesn't detect the fact that i'm using a controller, i can only use the keyboard layout. Why does this happen?
Nevermind found the fix, gotta switch back to gaming mode lol
The game is works for me, but it has big VRAM issues on my laptop.
From what i've seen the game fails to release unused memory so it eventually taps out and starts stuttering like crazy trying to reallocate memory. Going from a smooth 60 to 10-30 fps constantly. This happens regardless of graphics settings.
I'm on an NVIDIA machine using Wayland, so maybe the steam deck managed to dodge this issue?
Also i did download the launcher from the official site bc heroic was failing to launch the installer.
On average, how long are you able to play until you start hitting memory issues?
@@HiTechLoLife maybe 10-20 minutes, sometimes a bit more. Depends on how many things the game loads, like if you are constantly loading into new areas it will be quicker.
It seems to be an nvidia only issue from what ive seen on reddit

Was excited before i found out it requires the epic version. My disappointment is sorta noticeable, and my day is mildly inconvenienced.
I think there might be OTHER ways to get it working but for now the Epic version is definitely the *easiest* way to get it working.
And for what it's worth, if you use the Heroic Games Launcher, you technically aren't touching the real deal Epic launcher.
Surely it can be installed with the hoyoplay launcher but you risk getting banned as sometimes happens with honkai stair rail

For the record, only AFTER this video was made, apparently the standard launcher decided it would work fine.
So the Epic Store isn't required anymore, but THAT is a recent development. We've been telling people to preload via EGS for days.
@@Pancake_Madnessalso, the HoyoPlay launcher is exactly what Epic downloads to *then* install the game. So.
I am having trouble installing it, when i select c programfiles x86 it tells me that o have insuficient space, wich is probably true, but it doesnt let me install in my SD card, its called primary i think, but it appears nameless and cant select it.
Hm... That may warrant further investigation. Maybe a followup video too.

@@HiTechLoLife As an update i would like to say that after factory reseting my steam deck and formating my sd card the problem still persist so i couldnt select my SD card to install the game, the only diference is that now i do have the space to install it on the C drive at least, that half the space gone though :/
My Hoyo account is with Google, so when i try to login with google it says use the browser but the browser never pops up, even in desktop mode
I made a second video with a different install method that'll let you use your Google account and other accounts.
Is there a risk of getting banned like using the hoyo launcher and playing HSR or GI?
You're not breaking ToS. For now at least, considering we've been playing Genshin Impact for far longer without repercussions, it is (relatively speaking) safe enough¹.
¹: The choice is yours, the risk assessment is yours, I'm not saying it WON'T happen, only that we have reason to believe it may not.
Playing through the hoyo launcher does not avoid the anti-cheat. HSR does not work with the hoyo launcher on the deck, but Genshin does because they use different anti-cheat systems. The only bans were for bypassing the anti-cheat, and that only resulted in a relatively small number of people being temporarily banned from playing HSR on their decks and has not happened again since.

I actually did this before the video dropped, the issue I'm having through, is during gameplay it'll eventually freeze up. I start up heroic, then the launcher, logs in just fine, there's no lag or dropped fps when playing, but it'll just occasionally crash and I have to restart the steam deck.
How long do you tend to play for until it crashes?

What bout Wuthering Waves n solo leveling can you do that on steam deck?🤔
Wuthering Waves used to work in 1.1 presumably due to Kuro fucking up (classic, I know) their anticheat which made it run on Linux. They hotfixed the fuck up as expected and now it doesn't work. There *is* a way to get it to run but the process is very involved and requires a lot of tinkering

It is safe as you use the official ZZZ launcher, whether or not you download it from Epic/Heroic.
Whether or not it'll continue to work this easily depends on Hoyoverse but it shouldn't cause any issues with the Deck itself regardless.

Yes you can, I did it on my steam deck and it works fine, you have to mount the SD card partition and select it when installing the game
Nice. Now I can download this on the deck, free up space on my phone and reinstall honkai impact 3rd (another big file game)

This version works fine in desktop mode but running it as a non-steam game just makes it crash before the launcher even loads up. I have no idea what to even try to troubleshoot this
That's odd I haven't had any issues with running it as a non-steam game. Did you add it as a non-steam game through Heroic itself?

I believe you can. I just had it plugged into a dock so I could record footage.

@@SiegmundCG Yeah disregard my previous message I just tested it in handheld and yeah, your only real option is 1280x720. Which is odd because both Genshin and Honkai can do 1280x800

The game itself is actually ~57GB but you need 110GB for the installation process, so it can decompress files.

It's only 110gb then it's compressed to 50-60gb after download finished
For whatever reason this time around it seems they've included ALL voice languages in the download instead of just downloading them as needed unlike say, Genshin.

@@bigweebshawny4230 you can create a hoyo account and then link your Google account to it. And then you log in with the hoyo account and your Google account will log in with those credentials without needing a browser
