There should be a database of DNA of all the people who leave their shit-tickets and toilet buckets behind. Then it could be cross-referenced against the 23&me database to publicly shame the culprits.
I have the same van. I've owned 3. They are pretty reliable vans. But if you do want it to make it past 175 thousand miles be sure to change that transmission fluid and filter every 30 thousand miles. Especially if you drive alot and do mountain driving like I do. My current one has 205 thousand on it. Oh and by the way.. put your key into the ignition and cycle the key. On/off. On/off and then back to On. And look at your odometer. If your engine light is illuminated your van will show you the codes right where your mileage is displayed. Then you can Google the codes to find out what is wrong. No scanner needed. It has one built into the computer. Cycling the key in that order will give you your codes. Also never drive with the green economy leaf lit up. The dealership tells me they gave that button a nick name called the transmission killer. Most of the vans they had to replace a transmission on costed the customer over $6000 and everyone of them that they replaced never did a transmission fluid and filter service. And most of them drove their van with the green leaf economy mode turned on. Which changes the way the van shifts to save fuel. But it really doesn't save much in fuel anyway. Good luck with yours. She owns two homes. When I am at her Chandler, AZ house, I have a bedroom. I sleep in my van when I'm at her place in Payson most of the time (but sometimes weather will dictate that).

You can reset your check engine light yourself by disconnecting your battery for about 10 minutes. Then if it comes backon deal with a real problem.
