You have no idea what things you'll see in Colorado when you get off the main highways.
We spent 8 days getting lost in Colorado to see what life is like in areas that you've never seen before.

Should be pretty obvious considering he's almost at 1 million subscribers lol, he gets paid by RUclips. @@Trump_Lake_24
Nick Big Thanks Brilliant Video Really enjoyed it and luring even more for US Always 👍👍👍👍
Can you define Woke?
What you don't like answering questions?
The Western Slope is wonderful. The reason people say it's "bad" is because it's not full of big box stores, chain restaurants, and all of the other accoutrements of the "city".
Sounds like heaven, peace, family 🎉
Personally, I believe it's death to a quirky small mountain town when a Starbucks shows up. It's downhill from there...😬
I’d take the western slope any day over the urban decay of the Front Range.
Best burger I have ate in Colorado was in Florissant at the Iron Tree Restaurant. That place was amazing. If ever in that area, eat there!
I can't wait to be that far from everything!!
I live in Colorado and I love Colorado. It's cities, not so much. The mountains and prairies, the high deserts and river valleys are amazing beyond description.
You should check out northern New Mexico if you haven’t already. It’s like colorado but without all the people
@Soggygranite it is nice driving up from Farmington, into Durango. It is a little different type of beauty. But it is beauty none the less.
What's wrong with the cities? Actually I have a good of what's wrong with Denver after watching Nick's video on that city.
The lunatics running Denver are ruining it...
@@SoggygraniteLove Chama!
I'm from Germany and I've never been to the US but I love watching your videos because it gives a great view on your country and all the variety and different towns and cities. Thanks a lot for your work which does a way better job than any media outlet out there!
Isn't THAT the truth?!! Our USA nightly "news" doesn't like to talk about the druggies who are being allowed to literally take over our cities!!!

@@brettburnside1457 I'd love to someday
This is the Colorado I miss, not the present Front Range.
The older I get (63) living in a ''Podunk town'' is lookimg more and more appealing.
Im 60 and ive felt that way for decades
I'm 41 and I swear I've felt that way since I was 30 or 32.
Yep. I escaped Illinois 18yrs yes ago to a small town in Wisconsin.
I’m 60 and am very tired of my podunk town. Nothing to do ☹️
@@tracisawyer7681just go poop on your neighbors driveway. That’s what they’re doing in big cities these days.
I'm a Colorado native. My cousins and I used to go 4 wheeling up in the mountains- lot of incredible scenery to see
Colorado is the best state, why because I live there. I look out my patio and see the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. I am twenty minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park! Blessed to see such beauty daily! Grateful 🙏😇🤗🗻❤️❣️
I agree it's a very pretty state in terms of it's natural beauty. But in terms of it's main city's such as Denver I think it's pretty bad.
May be 20 minutes by map But it takes 2 hours in traffic to get there.
Colorado sucks they just took Trump off the ballot and legalized shrooms. Sounds like a bunch of goofballs to me.
Sorry no sunny beautiful beach. I'll stay in Florida. But yes please stay in Colorado 😊 it's the best. Everyone should move there and California.
@@Luka_c123 Yep Denver went from the number one best city in America in 2018 to 44th by 2022. Yep it's a @#&$ hole!
I was in Ouray CO for four days this past August. Awesome little mountain town. It took me a day or so to acclimate to the 7,800 ft elevation. The drive along the Million Dollar Highway (US-550) was breathtaking.
I ❤ouray
BTW, Coloradans call it YouRay, Not OOORay!! :)😂
@@Emon7543 Yes sir. I caught on to the local pronunciation.
@@Emon7543 ooorah!
I get to make that drive from Durango to Ouray a few times a month for work in the summer. Quite a nice drive to get paid to make😂
I live in the western slope. Little town called Palisade, just outside of Grand Junction. Our main thing here is agriculture. So many small time orchards. Peaches & wine mostly. We hope you visit next time you're in the state to see our festivals.🙂🙌
@Troutchaser99, I been to Palisade in 1967 and again in 2007 years, my older sister lives in Grand Junction, Colorado she took me there in 2007 in July month we also went to Mesa Mountain so beautiful country. from 1965 to 1968 my parent lives in Colorado around Mack Colorado I was 8 to 12 years of age when I live there with my parents, I am now 66 years of age, my naive place I was born 5 miles west of Lincoln, California Now days I live in North Sacramento California my house paid off so have no need to move.
@darleneatkinson3906 It is a beautiful town. The Mesa is my favorite spot, as it's essential our backyard here and it takes all but 40 Minutes to reach the top. This is the smallest community I've been apart of, and I love it.
Hey neighbor, I'm also in palisade 👋
I’m also a Palisade resident - love it!
Palisade is a beautiful rurall town with the desert mesas for a backdrop. Whenever I drive through there I love to stop by and grab a pint at Palisade Brewery. The last time I was there it was a couple years ago in October. It was right around sunset, with an autumn chill in the air, and an outdoor fire pit going on. It was the perfect atmosphere to have a cold one!
Ouray had an amazing scenic setting. I'm just not sure about the winters at 7800-foot elevation.
You think that's high try Leadville CO 10,000 ft
Grand junction is still conservative town, and the homless park is dubbed locally as bum park, it was recently cleared of the homless and fenced off, a temporary shelter was built a few blocks away for the homeless.. its really a nice place to live
The Californians who flooded in in the 80s during the oil shale bust bought up whole blocks of houses. Come winter, they put up for sale signs and went back. Unfortunately, they didn't stay and have flooded all of our western states now like rats off a sinking ship.
@DannyGibas I don't disagree. It's definitely sliding
Colorado is not one of the most beautiful places in the US only but in the entire world. The people, the weather, I literally love everything about this State.
"The more languages you know, the better." 👍 Facts
I live in Colorado Springs. I love it here. Every small mountain town is nice. Colorado is truly beautiful. The secret is out about how nice it is here.
Native Rich ("The Goose") Gossage, who pitched for The NY Yankees, was very well liked here in NYC.
Yeah Nick, all the dead pine trees up Wolf Creek outside of Pagosa is beetle kill. Terribly managed, scary to imagine all that going up in flames one day.
I wish you'd have gone up north through the San Luis valley - you'd have liked (bougie) Salida, and eventually gone through our tiny town of Bailey and visited the yeti museum 😂
Next time!
My mom, dad and their parents were from Colorado, my mom from Leadville, and dad lived on the Western Slope, but wound up teaching High School in Leadville, where he met my mom. Also my dads family brought the first piano into Colorado over the Rockies by mule, it was in the museum in Ouray, but don't know if it still is.
That's a real cool story
Love some Colorado backroads!!❤️
i know you do honey
Absolutely love this style of video. Especially the locals getting interviewed.
Colorado and Utah should have more water rights than the last stops of the Colorado River (California & Arizona).
Water bills are so expensive in Colorado as well. I paid $50 monthly bill for a one bedroom apartment consisting of only myself.

@@CCC303THIZZ Higher prices contribute to lower supply. I know socialists in Colorado know absolutely nothing about high-school economics.

Love Colorado. Probably coolest back road we took was through Phantom Canyon from Cripple Creek.
Try Shelf Road from Cripple Creek to Canon City. It's a shelf!😊
Both roads are fun. Been awhile but they were practically my backyard playground for years. Shelf sure was as turns into Fields Ave/St. Lol
I'm from New Zealand and sure I'd love to see the usual tourist traps of the USA but places like the ones in this and other recent vlogs are what I would love to see.
Keep it up Nick! Great to see the diversity of your homeland.
Ok! 🇳🇿 ❤️
Dude, your narrations have me rolling. Every single video. Keep up the good work & happy new year.
The spruce beetle killed all those trees as you drove up Wolf Creek Pass.

So glad you made this video! I lived in Montrose and commuted to my job at Telluride ski resort (70 miles/1.5 hours each way). We had an employee shuttle until COVID. I couldn’t afford the commute so had to get a job somewhere else.
No one is commuting from Montrose to Aspen. The 2 towns are 3 hours apart. People working in Aspen might live and commute from Glenwood Springs.
The western slope is far better than the Front Range and the Summit County. It’s not too overrun except in places like Telluride and Ouray. Ouray is pronounced “Your Ray.” You totally butchered that 😂!
I have not been to Colorado for 22 years. I forgot how nice it looked.
🎉 Colorado is Beautiful. I moved to Denver... Then moved back to Muskegon Michigan
Hi. I'm surprised you went to Michigan. They had the most draconian laws then most during illness. No thank you. I hope things stay free by you. God bless you and us all.

I visited Grand Junction and the Delta Area last summer. I visited about a month and a half later. The people with the improvised fruit stand were still there and I gassed up at that station before I went up to the Colorado National Monument. A guy who I was talking to at the disc golf course in town said he had lived all over the country and he lived living in Grand Junction the most.
Your in OURAY .. WOW I cannot believe your there ♥ I drove that pass all the time in the 1980's .. Oh I love that area to pieces !! ♥
When you get out of the city, Colorado is actually very nice too bad cities like Denver are forever lost due to bad policy and decision making.
@@JonathanArmstrong-xd4wm all once nice cities in generally beautiful states that will never get it's priorities straight.
And bad drivers!
I lived in CO Springs for 3 months and saw car crashes every single week I was there.
I moved back to the mountains.
Thanks Nick for taking us with you on your amazing journeys 🌍 🚗.
Thank you, Nick! I was born in Loveland, so seeing my state and all the changes I've seen in 27 years.. the homeless, the growth... Thank you for showing Colorado. Maybe less out of staters will come here!
Don't count on it. It's only going to get more and more crowded as people flee crappier states
The Colorado National Monument is in Grand Junction . Its incredible
I wish my Husband Robert was living and we both could move to the State of Colorado. Ever since his death on 07 September 2022, my live has been nothing but torture. I intensely miss him.
Aww I'm sorry 😞 🙏
I hope you made time to stop at Great Sand Dunes Natl Park! You were right there being in Blanca. One of the coolest parks I’ve been to
I know Blanca;;;I have ran all over the San Luiz valley N S E to W
Hey Nick back in 2011 I lived up in the mountains of Colorado in a little ghost town called Victor about a 45 min drive from Colorado Springs I loved it up there and I got a chance to travel thousands of miles checking out Colorado!!
Shout out to Victor!!! ❤ LOVE that place and the people!!! Cool history. No pretences, just good, down to earth people trying to get by❤❤❤
I’ve always wanted to visit the gold mine in Victor. I lived in Colorado Springs and visited Cripple Creek many times. Went to the Mollie Kathleen mine tour, it was interesting going down a 1000ft vertical mining shaft. If US 24 gets closed because of weather isn’t it like a 3hr drive to the Springs? It’s changed now but I really enjoyed the Mountain Burger restaurant in a gas station in Florissant.
I lived in Lawrence, ghost town southwest of Victor. 😊
Watching it, and seeing Colorado from my couch on the internet doens't really compare to seeing it in person. But it is better than nothing.
Yes Mike!
Hey Niko, Grand Junction is a good place to start your fossil hunt, and the interesting ghost town of Animas Forks is by Ouray.
Hi Nick, nice to see Colorado.
One of the best Police man from Colorado was Joe Kenda.
I saw him on TV.
He is very famous in Germany ❤

Thank you for coming through Nick Man Longmont resident here. Yes great place great people but winners can be crazy weather is awesome too but it is what it is going back to the beach Southern California. Been here almost 9 years now and just a great place it really is thanks for visiting take care God bless you and your family
Had to laugh when you were talking about the west side of Colorado, let us not forget how 'beautiful' the east part of Colorado is.
The eastern plains are beautiful! But I need wilderness land to play in. It's all just farms and sage put there. No trees or mountains! Just the comanche grassland! Not enough for me 🫠
As an East Coast boy who moved to SoCal at 20 yrs. old moved to Western Colo. for 20 yrs. of my life. Those were some good ol' daze.
Dude, you got one of the best channels! Please keep making your content. I learn so much. I'm appreciative of it. You probably know the US better than anybody now. NICK JOHNSON for PRESIDENT!
Colorado is such a pretty state. Beautiful sunshine, but really expensive! I like this video.😊❤
It really is!
I've been to Colorado a couple times and it was beautiful!! I did some hiking.

Born and raised in San Berdoo and thank Gawd got out and moved to the Western Slope in the late 80's. Love Colorado ❤
I loved in fort Collins in the early 2000.... Best time of my life. I love that place
They can grow hops because the climate is similar to areas of eastern Washington state, where they grow the famous "Cascade" hop variety. My grandparents' family lived at Monte Vista, near the southern border, and some of those people grew red potatoes. One of my great uncles was on the Colorado potato board in the 1940s and 50s.
Some of the shots of the Million Dollar Road looked like the opening to The Shining 👍😊
A lot of the agricultural product is being grown indoors, under lights
I love this channel!!!!!
That landscape next to the endless straight roads looks amazing. So beautiful!
Another great video! Really inspiring me to do something similar and go back to colorado to truly enjoy it
My mom went to Mesa when I was little and we lived in Glenwood Springs. Used to go Grand Junction for school supply/clothing shopping. Last time I drove through Colorado I entered from Utah to Dinosaur, took a side highway to Rifle (waved at the Meeker sign as a joke--we used to do swim meets there), then took I-70 through my old hometown, took a nap over night at Grizzly Creek (where we used to take school trips), and the next day visited a fellow Glenwood-raised friend in Aurora before leaving the state. Yes, my Aurora friend has since escaped "the armpit of Colorado". But my favorite route is going with my dad from Oklahoma to the Gunnison to Carbondale, and then visiting Glenwood. One day I would love to return, go to Dotzero, and head north on the highway that loops back to Glenwood but up on a plateau. We used to go camping up there.
Wow that's a lot!
I found it amusing and ironic that you were listening to "Californiacation" on the radio in the Grand Junction clip...👍
I really enjoyed the mountain west series. I'm always looking forward to what you'll upload next!
what a super nice tour...thanks for sharing😊🎉 keep it up
Such a great video and you have a great perspective. I really enjoy the interviews as you visit different areas!
Always good stuff. Thanks Nick , keep doing what you do !
I really like your videos like this, where you show not just the bad parts, but the whole picture. Felt like I as a German who never been to the US had been to Colorado myself! Keep it up!
Look foward to checking it out bro, be safe out there!
I have lived in Colorado 63 years, 💜
I used to go to Grand Junction, and Palisades alot. I love Palisades. Lots of wine tours and grape orchards. Very beautiful. The Maverik gas station in Palisades has so many beers, and wines I've never seen anywhere else.
The dead spruce trees are from a beetle that has ravaged Colorado forests. Mountain pine beetles
I used to get bitter when this guy would talk about the homeless situation in california but i look forward to all these videos and truly appreciate so thx4this😊
Living in Colorado, I grew to hate the hobos. They take handouts and use drugs. What’s to like?

Nick is just my poll worker! Edit: I want that leather jacket! Edit #2: the Rocky Mountains are always looming in background
Nice video Nick. I've spent many a vacation traveling the state myself. By the way, Ouray is pronounced Your-RAY by the locals, vs. OOH-ray. It was named for Chief Ouray of the Ute nation.
I used to live about 45 min south of Durango in Northern New Mexico. Was really cool to see you in Durango and at the Bar D. The San Juan Mountains in Southwest Colorado are some of the most beautiful mountains in the Colorado Rockies! I learned to ski at Purgatory! Made many trips across southern Colorado in my life. Now we spend a lot of time in central Colorado. (Salida, Monarch) Really enjoyed this!
Listening to RHCP Californication while driving thru Colorado was appropriate it is what is happening. I couldn't afford my house if I had to buy it now.

Colorado is so pretty ❤ thanks for the video 😊
I love Colorado, I am a native of Colorado. It has beautiful places that are great to visit, explore, and great sight seeing. The only bad thing about Colorado is wages, jobs, cost of living and the litter of homeless breaking into abandoned shops to try and stay warm during the winter.
I would love to move somewhere else, but I'll find the same problem no matter where I go.
Best ever trips honestly were the back roads and off highways to get all around. Loved every dang time went off the highway and took the backways home. Even getting a little lost a time or 2. However, this was about 15 years ago.
