Those weren't the "babies" they were full grown chipmunks :-) The Ground Squirrel is such a fattie with her stuffed left cheek n all, she can be taken as the big mama. The key is the chipmunks have stripes on the face and the golden manteled groundie has stripes only up to the neck and are chunky like a squirrel. Gorgeous place, thx 4 sharing
Really enjoyed your Creede shenanigans - can't wait to see where you're off to next. That museum was neat. That spot by the creek with the meadow and forest was soooo nice...and then the baby chipmunks and a Steller's jay, too?! I love those. That Creede bumper sticker was funny. Hey, July's my birthday month, too! Just 4 more days till mine. You've gotta love having a selectable automatic transmission for those declines... my van's got the same. It would be super embarrassing to have to ditch on a runaway truck ramp. On the other hand, I'm sure that would get some clicks. 😆
