Also I know I pronounced the Gentile family's name wrong and there was a typo in the haunted tree's conversation so don't rip me apart in the comments section.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I grew up standing in front of 1313 cemetery way staring in awe at the tree. I was devastated when i went back as an adult to see it gone

THE HAUNTED HOUSE THAT MADE ME LOVE HAUNTED HOUSES! The broken upstairs windows with curtains flying out, the skeleton on the tight rope, the organ music, giant tree, and of course the witch who wacked the back of your car to go into the house 😂💜🥲 miss seeing it .
That tree was awesome. They still have it there but it is in the back on the side of the house and doesn’t work anymore. The new haunted house is a let down. I love the one from the 80’s.

That orginal tree caused some childhood trauma for me. I was scared all trees would come to life and eat me ☹ (I wasn't the brightest child) At the time I happy when they removed it.. but now I kinda wish I had the opportunity to ride it and have been looking for ride-on videos.
That tree could definitely be scary looking for younger children. I also wish there was a good POV of 1313 Cemetery way on RUclips

Cool video! I was terrified to go on the ride as a kid in the 80’s. When I did eventually go I was too old to be scared by it 😂

I remember the old haunted house. Never rode it, as I was a very timid kid, but I remember the tightrope skeleton, the puking guy, the haunted tree, etc. I also remember riding the Ladybug coaster right in front of it, and watching the puking guy do his thing while having my stomach slammed around nearly made me sick! Kinda funny to look back on it now as an adult. I remember being disappointed when the new rickshaw opened, as well. It felt like the park lost an important piece of itself. Also, I had no idea Hurricane went out! It's been so long since I visited. I liked Hurricane a lot, and I'm not a huge coaster fan. Have you ever considered doing a video on Boomers park in Medford? That was the park I went to the most as a kid. Even had a birthday party there once. Fun place with a cute little train roller coaster, bumper boats, a train ride surrounding the park, a really good arcade, and other stuff that I'm forgetting because I haven't been there in years.
I will always have memories of that puking guy.. waiting in line w my aunt and cousin , shaking in my boots. And I could’ve sworn the puking guy was closer to the people in my memory? Who knows- but I was so happy to see that snippet on this video!
I used to love that ladybug roller coaster too when I was younger :) great memories at this park

I haven’t lived on Long Island for a really long time, but I VIVIDLY remember that tree scaring the life out of me when I was like, maybe 4 or 5? That’s sad it’s not active anymore 🥺
I hope they fix the tree once again.
They have the tree over by the tables, behind a gate. Almost didn’t see it with the umbrellas. I remember him when I was little and had my five year old and three year old take a pic in front of it! Glad I saw it while we were leaving!
I saw that! I think they moved it to that location this season. Wish it was more visible, but its better than nothing
You FORGOT about the famous Witch that almost hits you with the broomstick at the beginning of the attraction (RIP 1313 Cemetery way!) It's a real shame they demolished hand built carpentry classic haunted house to only be replaced with a CHEAP temporary carnival metal/aluminum ride! Very sad. I wouldn't be as down if they actually rebuilt a new haunt with skilled carpentry worker made out of wood and steel! But at least I'm glad I had the chance to live that childhood when Adventureland was decent!
Great video buddy. I absolutely miss the old haunted house 1313 cemetery way. I wish they could revamp it. That was my childhood when I went to the park as a child. I plan to head back to the park sometime either this year or next year.
I vividly remember me and my cousin going on this ride in 2012 and laughing the entire time. It was so bad it was good. The jumpscares were cheesy and we just couldn’t prevent ourselves from laughing. Hearing my other cousin in the car ahead of us screaming her head off definitely helped.
Thank you for making this! I was looking for videos like this on the history of attractions in Adventureland and this was the only one I could find. Its very interesting to see what was there before i was born and when I was very little. Thank you!

The Black Hole was a very cool ride! I can't remember how young I was when I 1st went to adventureland. I think I was around 9 or 12, and it was around 1980/83. For kicks, I last went as a high school senior. Now I just drive by the amusement park when traveling on Rte 110.
I have a vivid memory of freddy kreuger being incorporated. It could have even just been music similar to the elm street score. Did my memory make this up?
You're not wrong! While not mentioned in this video, there was a part of the ride with 4 picture frames in a row that lit up sequentially during the late 80s. One frame had Freddy Kreuger, another had Pinhead from Hellraiser, the third one I'm still not sure, and the last frame said “you’re next”. That's awesome that you remembered that!

To this day I have a great time at this park and let me tell you, the haunted mansion “mystery mansion” is great.
All I distinctly remember my first time ever riding this ride and seeing the King Kong and being scared shitless. I literally had my hand over my face the entire time but at that point, there’s really no point as it was such a big and large portion of the ride. It’s the only attraction that really drew me back year after year, and the tree soundtrack. But yeah, after that first impression and the man replacements and removals they’d made, it’s arguably one of the least scary haunted house rides out there.
Is it possible to do this with other attractions at adventureland? Like rides are always being replaced and theirs content I feel their

I rode Mystery Mansion and it is awesome a lot better than the old one and they are still adding more and more props

Yes, and I’ve filmed my first reaction to the ride that I did opening week. It won’t release for a while though since there are other videos that I’m going to create before that. It’s definitely coming though.

Overall, it’s a pretty easy ride. The highlight is definitely the ride system. Nothing too scary. Don’t want to spoil anything else. Enjoy the ride.
