So glad you were able to visit Adventureland! Some fun facts:
    >The tree at the front of the park was animatronic, used to talk, and was on top of the original haunted house, 1313 Cemetery Way. A picture of this ride can be seen from the train at 13:56. They also did some cosmetic restorations to the tree a few years ago.
    >The two characters on the trashcan are the park's former mascot, Albert Adventureland, and current mascot, Alfie Adventureland
    >The clown vehicles were from a former children's ride, Flying Clowns
    >The crocodiles were from Crocodile Run, a water ride that was re-themed into Alfie’s Rescue Boats a year or two ago

So many memories from the 80s when my friends and I came a lot on the weekends. I can ramble on and on but I will just say it’s cool seeing this on you tube. Glad you enjoyed 😃

Those clowns used to be part of a kids ride where they were all attached to fake balloons and spun around, as were the alligators who at one point were the ride vehicles for those spinning boats. The rattler opened as the ladybug with the same layout but ladybug ride seats. That tree with the face on it was once part of the parks haunted house 1313 cemetery way which was a pretty large haunted house and the parks premier attraction upon opening in the 80s. They started inside the ride along with among other things a giant 10+ foot king Kong animatronic but they were both moved to outside the ride in the mid 2000s where the tree would warn guests of the dangers that lay inside. In later years people complained the haunted house was too dark and didn't have enough going on inside it and so it was replaced.

Adventureland! This park has always been a huge part of my life since I love so close by. Glad you got to visit my home of Long Island and Adventureland!
And since you were wondering about the scattered ride vehicles, the clowns were from a kiddie ride called "Flying Clowns" which was a favorite of mine when I was little. The crocodiles were from a ride called "Crocodile Run" which was the same thing as the Rescue boats, the crocodiles were just the old ride vehicles. As for those boats you saw on the train, those were just older boats for the Adventure Falls flume. Also, the Eiffel Tower on the antique cars was from another old kiddie ride.
Just out of curiosity, planning on seeing anything else on Long Island? Montauk? The Duck?

The clown vehicles were from an old kiddy spinning ride. The alligators were the previous vehicles for the speed boat ride. The haunted house was originally The Haunted Cave… then 1313 cemetery way (my absolute favorite even though it’s was broken down as shit 😂). It then was replaced by that weird Asian rickshaw dark ride that you once did a video on!! I couldn’t believe it when I saw you on it lol. Also fun fact the space was originally a broccoli farm! Thanks for checking out Adventureland! Made my day

This fantastic park was part of the stomping grounds from my youth! There used to be the most amazingly cheesy dark ride called ‘1313 Cemetery Way’. We would ride it over and over again. I haven’t been back in years, but I think you went past one of the old props inside the current one. Great times!!!

I love the work you do Jacob and when you go to attractions or dark rides, you record the whole thing. Having only been to the USA for Disney and Universal, I had no idea there were so many amusement parks and other great attractions there. There is so much to see. Thank you again so much for doing what you do!
Just a quick comment about Adventureland, I find they have a few issues with their theming. It seems to be all over the map.
The best thing about the Mysterious Mansion was the cool overhead ride vehicle.
On the outside with all the 🕷spiders and the ride vehicle having a big spider on it, you would have thought you were about to enter a spider's haven, instead there were everything from mummies to skeltons with guitars randomly placed throughout with no real decor.I seems such a shame. I hope this evolves into something better because the building is an amazing design and the ride vehicle is one of the best ones I've seen. I've found some of the older, non corporate built ones you have been to were better.
    Anyways, just a comment.
Keep on going to these amazing places.
You are the best. Others don't do it as well as you do. All the best always.

Michael Arnold, the Haunted House dark ride is still at Adventureland. It definitely has some wear but it’s still a good ride. They moved the Gorrila? a few years ago I saw, animatronic out of it, and put it on top of a “rock” climbing wall. Guessing he stopped working but it definitely looks neat where it is now :).

  • @cluvssunshine9751

OMG! Jacob, I can not THANK YOU enough for this video! I grew up on Long Island and Adventureland was such a part of my life back in the 80s and 90s as a kid (would go either 1 or 2 times every summer) and also a part of my adult life since I would drive pass it on Rte110 from my commute to and from work every single day.
Sooo many things about this video made me super happy but also sad. It's nice to see that they updated the park and kept the classic rides that make Adventureland "Adventureland" such as The Pirate Ship, Antique Cars, Musical Express, The Swings, The Train, and The Ferris Wheel. Such memories especially of the Pirate Ship...it was ALWAYS the first ride we would go on since it was right off the entrance of the park from the parking lot. Rode that one hundreds of times always on the last row which gave maximum height that resulted in adrenaline rushes that set the mood and excitement for the rest of your time in the park. They had the miniature golf over there also before they put the log flume there.
Alfie's Rescue Boats used to be bumper boats..which I never went on the bumper boats because I was afraid I was going to get stuck floating in the middle of the water. I just remembered in that area, it always smelt like exhaust because they were gas powered and the water was NOT clear...it was murky. It's nice to see that they updated and changed out the kiddie roller coaster...the one they had when I was I kid (which I think the carts were either a catapiller or ladybugs), the track was one circle that was about 6ft off the ground with little dips in it so you would go up and down alittle bit as it went around. The last time we ever went on that, it got stuck in one of the dips and didnt have enough power to make it out. To get the cart to move and "rescue" us kids, a bunch of dads jumped the fence where the track was and pushed it to the loading station where us kids got off.
The ride(s) to the right of the Musical Express (that I remember) that they would switch out through the years for new thrill rides was The Gravatron, The Looping Star, Surf Dance.
The 2 things that broke my heart in this video was to see that they changed out and updated the haunted house...but very glad to see they kept the haunted tree...that has been around FOREVER! And the 2nd thing that broke my heart was not seeing the roller coaster "Hurricane"...we would ride that lots of times. It was a bit jerky and rattle you around, but it was so much FUN!
Such memories of this small little local amusement park. And I'm so delighted after ALL THESE YEARS, (and the pandemic), that this Long Island treasure is STILL up and running!❤😁❤
So THANK YOU JACOB for covering this little gem in your adventures!

That swing ride...back in 2005 a woman catapulted into the parking lot when her harness gave way. The same week an operator of a roller coaster was run over. Glad you didn’t try that one. Nunley’s was in Baldwin, LI and closed in 1995. Was the first carousel I rode back in the late 60s. The carousel is preserved at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, LI.

Nunley's was a small amusement park in Baldwin, NY on long Island. It had a handful of kiddie rides, a small arcade, a mini golf course and a beautiful Stanley Carousel. It sadly closed back in 1995 and the land where it stood is now a Pep Boys auto store. They restored the Carousel a few years ago and you can still ride that on Museum Row near the Ceadle of aviation and long Island children's museum.

I can identify most of those ride pieces . Don’t remember the name of the clown ride but they used to have umbrellas attached to them. The Eiffel Tower on the antique cars used to be on a kiddie motor way. And those are not alligators, they are CROCS! That rescue boat ride used to be a crocodile spin of sorts. The ride announcement had a very thick Australian accent! You do have control over the boats, you can decided whether or not they go inwards or outwards. Also all of those crocs have names! The upstairs of the carousel has been closed for a long time! Also I believe that bright blue ox is refered to as a bull because there is a town on Long Island that has a large statue of a bull that is similar in color (smithtown)! Also the rattle snake coaster is just a reskin of the lady bug. The cars used to be Lady Bugs! It’s cool to see that the haunted house is still kinda crappy, even if it is a new building! You missed the peak of that ride which must’ve been almost ten twelve years ago, with the animatronic that used to vomit into a trash can outside! He is the real adventure land mascot in my opinion!

The Tree in front of the Mystery Mansion which was prior named The Haunted House, used to have a prerecorded conversation with another character voice on the ride. The tree had a line about “Chainsaws! I don’t like Chainsaws” that every kid knew who ever visited the park. Glad to see the Tree beat the chainsaw.

That’s pumpkin is part of the original park. Like most things. Adventure Land was twice the size that it is now when I was a kid. Used to have a huge slide in the back and pony rides.

You're in my old stomping grounds. I'll be in NY in September. Nunley's has been gone a long time. My parents took me there all the time when I was little. They had a huge carousel there in Baldwin.

This was great, glad to see you at our home park. When you were on the dark ride one of the figures you asked who is that...well that is an interesting story. In one of your older videos from a few years ago you rode a rickshaw themed dark ride, before Adventureland had the dark ride you just rode that rickshaw ride was actually at Adventureland and that figure was left behind from that ride. We are excited to see what other NY parks you go to. Hoping to see Rye Playland in the next few days from you, that is our all time favorite park and has so many great dark rides.
