I wanted to share it with you in the hope that it might help you find peace, purpose, or even just a moment of stillness if you need it. Thank you 🙏 It was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. It showed me a new way of thinking and living my life in such a beautiful and loving way. You are right there is no escape from the truth and the longer we try the more we suffer. Satu
Congrats on having such a meaningful conversation! This is exactly what you should get when engaging with a monk-not just donating money or listening to Pali chants you don’t understand. The essence of Buddhism is the truth of the universe. It’s said that the Buddha didn’t create the teachings but rather discovered the reality of existence. You can follow any religion and still study Buddhist teachings at the same time. Many people turn to Buddhism not because it’s 'better,' but because it reveals a truth so fundamental that even if you try to deny it, it remains true and continues to exist as it is.
Wow, thank you so much for this thoughtful comment! 🙏 I couldn’t agree more-this is exactly the kind of conversation I hoped to have when sitting down with the monk. It’s not just about rituals or chants but really digging into the deeper truths and what they mean for our lives. I love how you explained that the Buddha didn’t create these teachings but discovered the reality of existence-that’s such a powerful way to put it. And I totally agree that Buddhism doesn’t have to compete with other beliefs. It’s more about offering tools and insights that anyone can use, no matter what path they’re on. Seriously, thank you for taking the time to share this. It’s so cool to see people connecting with these ideas and adding even more layers to the conversation!
Thank you for feeling g along with me. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude 🙏 and it felt like a burden was lifted from shoulders that I didn’t even know I was carrying. I’m grateful for you and your kindness and I honestly believe that I am Thai in my heart and have finally found my home. Satu 🙇🙇🙇
Thank you so much for sharing the video with your family! 🙏 That truly means a lot to me. I hope they find it meaningful and inspiring as well. Your support helps spread the message even further!
Your conversation with the monk about the basic concepts of Buddhism was particularly inspirational. Many people misunderstand what the ideas of Buddhism actually are and to see it explained in a concise and spiritual way was incredibly fascinating. This is a video that I believe most people would benefit from watching on a regular basis as a way to stay focused on the principles you both discussed.
Once again Larry, Thank you so much for being part of this journey and sharing your insights. This one was a video I watch myself regularly to remind me of the importance of following the path. That conversation was so profound for me. There was so much more. So much more discussion. Questions and answers. Hours and hours or candid sharing. Me and that monk TongChai are friends now and speak regularly. He was in my candle festival video. We just randomly met there and he invited me to be part of the ordination ceremony. Im grateful I could share this with you for my experience. It has helped me in ways I am still discovering everyday. 🙇🙇🙇
All lessons that you got .It is basic of life that we always overlooked. We try to learn about outside but we forgot to learn for our inside. Buddhist not religion but Buddhist is natural explanation.
So true! Those simple truths that are the most profound and hard to understand. The path is laid out for you to be a good person and find happiness to detachment and focusing on what’s important. Until we know ourselves inside we cannot truly know the world on the outside. Find refuge within! Satu and thank you 🙏🙇
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful insights. It’s so true that mindfulness, self-exploration, and letting go are at the heart of Buddhism. The 4 Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path provide such a meaningful framework for understanding ourselves and navigating life’s challenges. Your comment reminds me of this verse from the Dhammapada: “All experiences are preceded by mind, led by mind, and produced by mind. If one speaks or acts with a pure mind, happiness follows like a shadow that never leaves.” (Dhammapada 1:2) It’s inspiring to reflect on these teachings and their focus on personal growth and self-awareness. Thank you again for your wisdom and for being part of this journey. Sadhu!
Thank you so much 😊. I was so fortunate to meet him and we are friends now! We chat on LINE all the time whenever I have questions. He was actually in my Candle festival video! We randomly bumped into each other in an Ubon temple! I love your insights as well. Did anything speak you personally? 🙏❤️🙇
I am not so good at English but i just want to share my experience. Just go step by step. I began with doing meditation 30 minutes everyday, at the first day I could not be calm, my eyes closed but my thinking 💭 just run around in my head, about my work about my friend about in the future about wrong things I did last time. I tried to stop thinking by pulling back to follow my breath and for a few times then thinking again and pulling it back to follow breathing in and out. It happened like that for two or three days then it would be better every time when i did it. I keep doing this for one or two months then I try to do the act of meditation ( vipassana). I try to do this every day. I can not doing this all the time but trying as much as possible.
Your English is great! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It’s completely normal for the mind to feel restless in the beginning-most of us go through that. And I still struggle too. The important part is exactly what you’re doing-bringing your attention back to the breath, again and again. That practice itself is meditation! I’m really impressed by your dedication to sticking with it, even when it feels challenging. As the Dhammapada says: “Enduring patience is the highest austerity.” - Dhammapada 184 Keep going at your own pace, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Every small effort adds up, and the peace you’re seeking will naturally grow over time. Sending you lots of encouragement on your journey! I’m always here, we can support each other!
@@TheCountryCollectors I am Thai and I live in other country. Thank you for your comment and your recommend❤️. I did hard only 7 months with meditation and vipassana only 7 months then I found and understand the truth of “A-Ri-ya-sat4” then I knew at once that there was a Bhuddha and understand at once that corporeality, feeling or sensation, perception, mental formations or volitional activities and consciousness not belong to any but they are natural. They exist but not belong to any. We form the language then we do dwell on it. There are many more but see you next video. You do good so I wish you the best.❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with meditation and vipassana! It’s incredible to hear how deeply you’ve explored the truth of the Ariya Sacca 4 (The Four Noble Truths) and gained such profound understanding. The way you described realizing the nature of body, sensations, perceptions, and consciousness aligns so beautifully with the Buddha’s teachings on Anatta-that nothing truly belongs to us, and everything is impermanent. It’s a powerful realization that brings so much peace and freedom. Your dedication to this practice is truly inspiring, and it reminds me of this verse from the Dhammapada: “As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not moved by praise or blame.” - Dhammapada, Verse 81 Thank you for your kind words and support! I’m so grateful you’re part of this journey, and I can’t wait to see you in the next video. Wishing you continued peace and wisdom. ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughtful reflections. I really appreciate your perspective on contentment and how it ties to the teachings of the Buddha. The concept of paccayasantosa (contentment with what we have) is such an important reminder in today’s world where it’s so easy to get caught up in wanting more. You’re absolutely right that Buddhism emphasizes simplicity, mindfulness, and understanding what is truly enough in life. The Buddha’s teachings about balance and avoiding extremes-whether in indulgence or denial-offer timeless wisdom we can all benefit from. Your comment also reminds me of a verse from the Dhammapada: “Contentment is the greatest wealth.” - Dhammapada 204 It’s such a powerful reminder that true richness isn’t found in material things but in finding peace and gratitude in what we already have. I’m so grateful you took the time to express your thoughts so deeply. It’s inspiring to see how much these teachings resonate with you and the importance of preserving them in modern times. Thank you for adding so much value to the conversation! 🙏
Words escape me. I'm crying with happiness for you, for all of us. Thank you from my heart for sharing these beautiful moments you experienced. All it takes is one seed to start a garden. 🙏🏼
Wow, thank you my friends! Tears of happiness are such a gift. Honestly sharing it with you is what makes it so special for me. And you are right about the seed. That was one of the most profound parts of the whole experience to learn. 🙏❤️
Anyway, I envy your opportunities to travel and explore. I’m suffering with some sickness and mostly housebound. The qualities of your videos and contents helped me from my loneliness. However, learning to letting go and fighting to rid of overthinking makes each day better. Smiles from your heart not your face.
Im so sorry for you suffering. I can only imagine what you must be going through. this year was a tough one that had me laid up for months but what you are going through must be extremely challenging both mentally and physically. you are so right though about letting go. our mind can become our prison or our liberation.
So true. Letting go is the ultimate way to find happiness and peace in life. Thank you for sharing your insight and joining me for this life changing experience. Satu!
Thank you so much for saying so. I have been a Buddhist for 20 years but it wasn’t until I was broken that I realized how much I need it. That pushed me to explore deeper. The kindness of the Thai people and the monks is what healed me. I will Always be grateful and I am honored to share it with the world 🙇🙏 Satu
What an incredibly powerful and inspirational message. Concepts that initially seem basic and simple are in fact ideas that someone could spend a lifetime trying to understand and apply to our lives. The inner peace and dignity of the monks and Thai people that you highlight each week demonstrate a wonderful culture. An amazing video to start the new year with to say the least. You always say how much you appreciate the people that watch your videos, but understand how much we appreciate how you put your heart and soul into putting out a video like this. Kudos on a job well done.
Thank you so much Larry! this is an incredible comment-it truly means a lot to me. 🙏 I’m so glad the video resonated with you and that the message came through in a meaningful way. The simplicity and depth of Buddhism’s teachings really are something we can spend a lifetime exploring, and I feel so fortunate to be able to share this journey with you. I’m also deeply grateful for your kind words about the effort I put into these videos. It’s comments like this that remind me why I do what I do-and it’s an honor to be able to highlight the beauty, culture, and wisdom I experience along the way. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for starting the new year with me. Wishing you peace, purpose, and plenty of new adventures ahead! 🙌
Thank you so much for sharing this. My husband and I began full time travel 3 months ago and Buddhism is something I have been interested in learning about for a few years. This is a helpful introduction and I feel like this is a video that would be beneficial to watch again and again. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Thank you so much Christina! That means a lot to me. It was a very personal journey to share and I have been so fortunate to find masters that were willing to teach and guide me on my path. That’s why I wanted to share it. Please feel free to watch as much as you like! Did anything speak to you specifically?
@@TheCountryCollectors we have been to Porto Portugal, Seville Spain, Gibraltar, Munich Germany and are in Antalya Türkiye now. We will go to Fethiye Türkiye next week, then Istanbul. Then to Florence, Rome and possibly Bologna Italy. We're thinking we will probably continue in Europe through 2026 and then to Asia.
Adam….this 66 year male is crying right along with you. That was ‘f’- ing fantastic. Answered many questions I have. I still have bucketloads more, but this is great 1st step. Thank you again from my Chiang Mai retired life.
Wow, thank you 🙏 so much! That means so much to me that you felt along with me and found it helpful. I’m grateful to be able to share it with you and my ongoing journey to walk the path. I have so many more questions too but I’m so happy I have started to answer them.
I love Chiang Mai! I just spent a month there after the Yi Peng festival and it was amazing. My next videos will be from there! Stay on the path, ask the questions and then question everything until it’s true for you Jody. Thank you again. I’m here if I can help with anything
The Dhammapada is a great text written by the Buddha that has some beautiful and profound insights. Also Food for the heart by Ajan cha has some great explanations. Best of luck!
Your tear make me cry ...I know your tear comes from your awakening.🎉 I am so glad you walk into Buddha path. Meditation everday will make you better and better. All the best to you...Adam😊
Wow, thank you 🙏. I’m so grateful you felt along with me. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and it felt like this weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I am working on my meditation practice. I was blessed to have Luang Por Yuen teach me. The monk at the beginning. He Ben taught Rama IX meditation. It changes everything for me! Thank you for joining me!
This is very touching. Anumotana to you (the same thing like when people said ‘god bless you’ in Christian. The first step and easy step is to ‘give’. Once you learn about given to others, then you will start to give love to yourself. Your inner self. The learning path that the Buddha teaches might sound easy to understand but it is a life long practice. It will come the times when thoughts and ideas and some reasons will make you doubt, but if you come back to the roots of the teaching way, it will guide you back to the right path. As I said it’s a life long journey, nothing of this is about whether we are doing the right thing or not but it’s about have we learned to know something new about ourselves or not. Once we understand ourselves then we will understand everything and everyone.
Thank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt words. Anumodana to you as well! I love how you described the path of giving and self-discovery. It really is a lifelong journey, isn’t it? The Buddha’s teachings remind us to keep coming back to mindfulness and reflection, especially during times of doubt. Your perspective captures that so well. It also reminds me of this verse from the Dhammapada: “Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace.” - Dhammapada, Verse 100 Continuing to grow, learn, and reconnect with the teachings is what keeps us grounded. Thank you again for sharing this insight-it truly resonates! Satu 🙇
Not everyone could understand and truly immerse with the Buddhism philosophy. But you are the one, who collected the karma to build this pathway for so long long time ago. And finally you will find the way to home ❤.
@@TheCountryCollectors I had been a monk and concentrate practicing for a short period. It feels like we tear off our masks, our thought of who we are from day to day. The restraint from desire is the grateful happiness. I am / we are the primary student who keep practicing on this pathway together. Buddhism is a community for sharing and help each other to be graduated. When you realize that ‘the body is not you, you are not the body’. That is the sign of wisdom enlightenment.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and insights. It’s incredible to hear about your time as a monk and the deep reflections that came with it. I really resonate with what you said about tearing off our masks and finding happiness through restraint. Buddhism truly is a path of shared growth, and I love how you described it as a community where we help each other move forward. That realization-‘the body is not you, you are not the body’-is such a powerful reminder of the journey toward wisdom and enlightenment. I appreciate you taking the time to share this. It’s inspiring and gives me even more to reflect on as I continue my own practice and travels. Thank you!
This video is a good example of why we travel. Through travel we are exposed to other thoughts and viewpoints, and it’s impossible to walk away unchanged for the better. Good on you Adam. Keep exploring, keep learning, keep changing!
Thank you so much Gary! I completely agree about travel. It’s a gift and a privilege I try never to take for granted, even when times are hard and Buddhism has brought so much perspective and kindness into my heart and mind. Satu!
@@TheCountryCollectors I grew up with Buddhism growing up in Taiwan but found salvation through Jesus Christ as an adolescent through some very troubled times and the scriptures have kept me centered and keenly aware of how important is it to have a spiritual center. I appreciated the video and the perspective on enshrining the wellbeing of others as a high value. A common theme for those who find inner happiness is how to bless others instead of building a lone pillar to stand on. Life is so much better walking shoulder to shoulder with others and than sitting on their backs. Love seeing people recognizing the spiritual side of life, no matter the faith and beliefs. It is something we so so lack in North America. Peace and love to you Adam!
Thank you so much for sharing your story and perspective. 🙏 It’s truly inspiring to hear how both Buddhism and your faith in Jesus Christ have guided you through challenging times and helped you stay centered. I completely agree-having a spiritual foundation and focusing on the wellbeing of others can make all the difference in finding inner peace and happiness. I love what you said about walking shoulder to shoulder with others instead of standing alone-that’s such a powerful and beautiful image. It’s so important to celebrate the spiritual side of life, no matter the path we follow, and I’m grateful this video could highlight that. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and spread such positivity. Sending peace and love right back to you!
I am so thankful for Buddhism, particularly during these later years when I've been going through so much stress. After veering off course for years, I am now back to doing short daily meditations which is so soothing and calming. I believe in the law of karma which makes so much sense in the modern day as "what goes around comes around". And the other important thing is "mindfulness" which can be applied to every aspect of your life like eating mindfully, shopping mindfully, speaking mindfully, etc. to avoid big regrets later.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey and reflections on Buddhism! It’s truly inspiring to hear how mindfulness and meditation have helped bring calm and clarity back into your life during challenging times. The teachings of the Buddha really do hold timeless wisdom, especially the law of karma and the importance of mindfulness in our daily actions. Your words remind me of a beautiful verse from the Dhammapada: “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” - Dhammapada, Verse 1 Practicing mindfulness, whether in eating, speaking, or even shopping, helps us shape a more peaceful and intentional life-one free of regrets, as you mentioned. I’m so glad to hear you’ve found comfort and guidance through these practices. Keep shining your light and walking this mindful path!
You are so right my friend. I have cried many more times because of the kindness and compassion that Buddhism has brought to my life. I’m so grateful. 🥹🙇 Satu
I’m Thai living in USA. You have come to the right place for learning about Buddhism in Thailand. I still keep practicing meditation and awareness gratitude wherever I am. Can’t wait to visit home.
Just ignore what people said don’t change just be the same. Emotional guy cuz I like the way you are and you are not the only one cuz I have tear in In my eyes every time watching ur emotional video
Thank you so much 🙏. Thailand and Buddhism has taught me to be a person I never thought was possible. My tears and emotions are a gift that I am grateful for. I had lost them long ago. It was being here and experiencing the kindness of Thai people that has made me a better person than I ever imagined. Having you on this adventure means so much! Satu 🙇
I’m Buddhist but I’m kind of person who dont believe in past/next life, miracle or karma but I only believe in the truth of life that Buddha taught which is way of natural. Not doing bad cuz afraid of hell or doing good cuz want to go heaven i think Buddha is not religion it’s science and quite logically…. I don’t know how to describe in deep as my English is not excellent Why Buddhism is more like science than religion you may know that humans use only 10% of brain ? What about the rest? May be Buddha found how to use the rest 90% but he can’t explain and beyond capability of human can understand that and I find that quiet interesting and someday I will proof it by practice meditation. But what I don’t understand in spite that Buddha taught to have logical thinking, reasonable but most of Thai people always believe in opposite way like superstition and mixed Buddhism with Hindu and some other nonsense
youtube.com/@dhamma.by.ajahn.jayasaro?si=w7buoKL08HrgaCTf Above like is a FARANG who being a monk in Thailand for 30-40 years if you may interest and want to learn more about Buddhism he is really good monk
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and insights! I really appreciate your perspective on Buddhism as more of a science and logical way of life rather than just a religion. It’s fascinating how the teachings of the Buddha encourage mindfulness, reason, and understanding the nature of existence without relying on superstition. I also find it interesting how meditation can unlock deeper awareness-kind of like exploring that “other 90%” of the mind you mentioned. It’s incredible how much Buddhism encourages us to keep learning, questioning, and growing. Thanks for sharing the link as well! I’ll definitely check it out-Ajahn Jayasaro has such valuable teachings. And I totally agree-it’s important to separate wisdom from superstition and keep the focus on mindfulness and compassion. 🙏
Wow. Thank you so much for sharing this. It’s beautiful to know that you could feel along with me and I hope that other can as well. It has changed me and continues to do so everyday. It’s not always easy to walk the path and sometimes it’s hard but if we persist we can find peace. I’m grateful for you. Satu 🙇
I am so grateful that i see this video brother.I am a Thai live in your country. The more i live here the more i miss my country. Here is good but i see myself in my home better. But actually i am grateful everywhere i am.Thank you for sharing this .This reminded me as a Thai person or Buddhist person to keep to know about my path. And man You are such a beautiful heart.Thank you for loving yourself and loving our country.May you have a wonderful life everywhere.Sawasdee Krab.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much, my friend! Your words truly touched my heart. I can feel the love and pride you have for your home and your roots-it’s so beautiful. Thailand is such an amazing place, and its culture, people, and traditions have taught me so much. I’m really happy this video could remind you of your path and bring you a sense of connection to your heritage. As Buddhists often say, “happiness is found within”, and it’s clear you carry that spirit wherever you are. I’m deeply grateful for your kind wishes and for sharing your thoughts. May your journey continue to be filled with peace, happiness, and gratitude no matter where life takes you. Sawasdee Krab! 🙏🙏🙏
If you ever come to Nan, we have a resident English born monk at Wat pah Punyawuttharam. He reads extensively, and loves to walk you through the practice to enlightenment. So whatever questions you have. You can ask him even more. He has been lots of things before finding Buddhism. His adventures before finding enlightenment are really amazing.
I love this video so much! I have been following your journey for some time now! Buddhism has been such a positive influence on my own life, and it is really nice to see other people being positively influenced by it as well.
Thank you so much. It was very personal and I’m so happy that you appreciate the path yourself. Buddhism has truly changed me and I’m so grateful that I could share it with people searching for answers in the world. I appreciate your support and sharing your experience. Satu!
I really enjoyed watching you go with the monks to get hand outs of food. What a humbling act! People can own a church and get rich off people, but they live super minimalist. I enjoy reading a lot of Thich Nhat Hanh and he said, "all you really need is a begging bowl and a cup for water." Seeing the monks happily living this way is inspiring for sure. @TheCountryCollectors
Adam, as always your videos are eye opening. I loved it, I hope some day I can experience it. I like it’s a way of life not necessarily a religion but a way of life we should drive for. Everything that was said made so much sense, my continued busy life keeps me at an anxious state of mind not a peaceful one. I used to meditate when covid hit and a year afterwards but going back to “normal” life I stopped making time for it. I think this was a hint I need to get back to. Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m really glad the video resonated with you. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of life and forget to make time for stillness and reflection. I’ve been there too, and it’s always powerful to be reminded of how grounding practices like meditation can be. It reminds me of a verse from the Dhammapada: “The mind is everything. What you think you become.” - Dhammapada, Verse 1 I hope you’re able to find your way back to that peaceful space-it sounds like your soul is calling for it. Wishing you calm, clarity, and plenty of moments to breathe deeply again! I appreciate you and feel free to share with anyone you think could use it! SATU🙇
Thank you so much 😊 I love Thai people and believe I am Thai in my heart ❤️ I’m so happy to hear that you liked it. And I am humbled and grateful to be able to share the beautiful message of the Buddha as I can. Satu 🙇
Thank you so much brother to share your story here, I was crying with you the moment you've put down the chair and found out that your burden is released. Keep doing this, the world journey channel is already out there, but, what you're doing here is to take a journey into your self, I'm waiting to see the more you will found. Your good mind will bring in more good pepole and take you to the good way.
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words, brother. It truly means the world to me that my story resonated with you so deeply. Knowing that it touched your heart inspires me to keep sharing this journey with all its ups and downs. You’re absolutely right-this is as much a journey inward as it is outward. Your encouragement reminds me of the incredible power of connection and community. I’m so grateful to have thoughtful and supportive people like you walking this path with me. Thank you for believing in the good and for sharing your light. 🙏
It is not only you feel grateful to Thailand and its people in offering you experiences about Buddhism, but I, as a Thai practicing Buddhist, also feel grateful to you in making such a powerful video explaining simply but clearly about Buddhism. You have delivered the Essence of the Buddha’s teachings concisely and yet exquisitely through your 30- min QA based production. It magnificently explains to the world what Buddhism is. Your tears of joy are appropriately worthwhile. Thank you so much. Kob khun Krab!
Wow, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It truly means a lot, especially coming from a practicing Buddhist in Thailand. I feel so grateful to be able to share these teachings with others and to learn from the amazing people and culture here. Your comment reminds me of why I do what I do-it’s all about connecting, sharing, and hopefully inspiring others to explore these profound teachings. I’m so glad the video resonated with you, and your encouragement gives me even more motivation to continue sharing these experiences. Kob khun krab for your kindness and support-it truly means the world. Wishing you peace and happiness on your journey in the Dhamma! 🙏✨
I'm so grateful for you that you found the right master who can explain the heart of Buddhism to you. The good that you have done is leading you to the right path to your happiness. 🙏🏻
This is a great example but hard for laymen, I will follow the eight fold paths on my every day life until the end of this body, thanks so much Buddha, sadhu x3
I have only recently found this channel and has swiftly become my go to choice of travel channels and I thank you for that. This however was on a different level, I shed tears several times as these beautiful and wonderful truths hit me in the most loving way. You are definitely int he right place for opening your heart. Much healing can happen in Northern Thailand. I wish you well on this journey my Brother, I love you. 💚🙏
Thank you so much for your beautiful message, my brother. It truly means the world to me to know that the video resonated with you on such a deep level. Northern Thailand is such a special place for reflection, healing, and connection, and I feel incredibly grateful to share this journey with amazing people like you. Your words remind me why I do what I do. Sending you so much love and light on your own journey, and I hope the truths we shared continue to bring you peace and inspiration. Thank you for being here. 💚🙏
It’s my honor and privilege to share it. I am humbled by the kindness and generosity of your amazing community and so grateful that I could share this message. Satu 🙇
Thank you so much Lynne! That means so much to me. I hope it can help people to understand Buddhism and themselves on a deep level. Please feel free to share it with anyone you think could use a little more peace and compassion in their lives. I appreciate you! 🙏❤️
Thank you Nancy! I’m so happy to share the journey with you. I’m truly grateful to have found the path that has brought me peace and helped me on my way back to finding me! 🙏❤️🙇
You are truly understanding Buddhism teaching. Thank you for sharing to the world. I am so lucky to be born as human and belief in Buddhism.🙏🙏🙏 I am in the process of walking my path following the Buddha teaching. I want to get out of this circle.
Thank you so much for your beautiful words and for sharing your journey with me. It’s inspiring to hear about your dedication to following the Buddha’s teachings and walking this path. I truly believe that sharing these teachings helps us all grow and connect on a deeper level. Wishing you peace and clarity as you continue on your journey toward liberation. 🙏 Keep walking with mindfulness and compassion-you’ve got this!
Thank you so much for your beautiful words. 🙏 Reading your comment honestly touched my heart. It means so much to know that this video resonated with you. I truly believe that life doesn’t have to be as complicated as we often make it, and hearing that this message connected with you reminds me why I share these journeys. Your thoughts about keeping things simple and testing the teachings for yourself really align with one of my favorite verses from the Dhammapada: ‘Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.’ That verse has stuck with me, and it feels like the heart of what this video-and your words-are all about. Thank you again for sharing this moment with me. I’m so grateful to have you here as part of this journey. ❤️ Wishing you peace, happiness, and continued growth. Satu 🙇
Wow, thank you so much for sharing your experience and reflections. 🙏 It means a lot to hear how much the video resonated with you. Fear is something we all face, and it’s incredible how understanding it can take away its power-just like the monk said. I really admire your dedication to learning and applying these teachings in your daily life. It’s inspiring to hear how you’re finding clarity, strength, and peace as you grow. I completely agree that it’s a process, and it’s so encouraging to see you embracing it step-by-step. I’m truly touched that you watched the video twice to make sure you didn’t miss anything. That level of commitment shows how deeply you care about growth and understanding. 🌿 By the way, I also included Thai subtitles in the video to make it easier to follow along for anyone who prefers them. I hope they’re helpful if you decide to watch again-or share it with others! Thank you for your support and for sharing your journey with me. I hope we can keep walking this path of learning and mindfulness together. Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu. 🙏❤️
Thanks for sharing so many more people understand Buddhism. I hope everyone finds their inner peace and learn to monitor and try to end their suffering. Thanks ❤
I really love this VDO. I'm Buddhist. I really happy seeing you happy and understand clearly in my religion. Please bring this experience and tell others how to be good and happy person by following Buddha teaching and always practice meditation eventhough you are Christian or any other religion. My Buddha bless you happy and healthy always. All the best. 😊😊😊
Thank you so much 😊 I appreciate your kind words and support. I am actually a Buddhist. These are my beliefs but I always had questions that I could not find the answers to until I met this kind monk. Thank you so much for your kindness. I’m so grateful to be able to share such a beautiful experience with the world. It was humbling to hear the wisdom of the Buddha through ThongChai. I hope it can give people guidance as they begin their journey into Buddhism. Satu 🙇🙏❤️
Thank you so much my friend! That means so much to me. You helped to raise me up. So I am grateful for your support that helped To get me here! Hope you are well!
@@TheCountryCollectors many things stand out but, your comments about religion separating people & Buddhism working to bring people together...that just cannot be said enough times. There's so much that can be discussed on every aspect of this video but, I think you nailed the explanations very well. I am currently dealing with an annoying residual cough that is left over from a viral chest infection that I had in NOVEMBER! It's hanging on far too long however, this too shall pass. *I've tried everything to fix it. *sigh*, I just have to let it run its course...
I could not agree more. That’s something that has bothered me since I was a child. 🧒 never truly understood until Buddhism found its way into my life and I was grateful to share it with you. It was one of the most enlightening experiences that just happened randomly. I went to see a monk and they were like you are staying here… not a question or a demand but a strong invitation that I could not say anything but yes too. I was completely unprepared but they cared for me and fed me and nourished my spirit and mind. It was amazing and I am so glad I could share it with you. What an adventure!
I’m so sorry you are feeling sick and it doesn’t seem to have an end. I have been there and I k ow how frustrating it could be. Most recently it was that infection on my leg that laid me up for almost 2 months! But you are right. Sometimes time is the only thing that make it better. Hang in there my friend! I’m thinking of you and sending positive healing vibes to you ❤️
I am proud of you for learning new things. You are right, it is not a religion but it is inside each person's mind. Thank you for sharing this great video. I pray that your channel grows and shares simple and peaceful experiences in this chaotic world.
Thank you so much for your beautiful support and kindness. Your right, it’s inside all of us if are will to seek it out. It was my pleasure to share it and I hope it can help people in the journey of life. Satu 🙇
I am not sure, but what you have discussed with the monks and what you have explained to me is true in my daily life. But some things are not possible in the society we live in or with people in each culture. But we will learn and understand each reason and the events that happen to us every day.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I love Thailand and believe that I am Thai in my heart and Isan in my soul. Spending time with the monk was such a profound and humbling experience. I feel incredibly fortunate to learn from Thailand’s deep wisdom and beautiful culture. While I may not have all the answers, the journey of asking the right questions has been truly life-changing. 🙏❤️
My pleasure! It has been such a beautiful journey and I wanted to share it with you because that makes it even more special! It really did save me! 👍🙇❤️🙏
@@TheCountryCollectors Everything you touched on. I've been a subscriber since almost the beginning. I've seen your transformation. Thought I would share my daily mantra. Hello Adam, Thank you very much for more great videos. I subscribed a while back. I love your contents and camera work as if they are documentaries produced by the National Geographic Channel. Please keep sending them your videos, someday they think of your work and want you to join their channel just like an American food’s critic RUclipsr living in Thailand who turned his work into the National Geographic. Awesome, thank you! Im so grateful to have you in the family! What a compliment and i appreciate your kindness. I never thought of submitting my content to Nat Geo but that is a great idea. I would absolutely love to work with them!
Thank you so much! 😊 I feel like I have finally found my home here in Thailand 🇹🇭 and I’m so grateful to the Thai community for making me feel so welcome and accepted. Satu 🙇
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn and share the Buddha’s teachings-they’ve truly become a guiding light in my life. I completely agree that Dhamma reflects the nature of reality, and practicing meditation has been such a powerful way to stay grounded and mindful. It’s amazing how it helps us reset our minds and see things more clearly. 🙏 Wat Pa Nanachat is such a peaceful and inspiring place-I’ve actually been there many times. It’s always such a privilege to speak with the monks and spend time meditating in the serenity of the forest. The atmosphere there truly reflects the essence of Dhamma-stillness, simplicity, and mindfulness. It’s incredible how being surrounded by nature and like-minded practitioners can deepen the practice and bring so much clarity and peace. I’m so grateful for your encouragement and support on this journey. May your own path continue to be filled with wisdom, peace, and blessings. Satu! 🙏😊
It is a nice video. I just found you. I am happy to see that a person from a different religious is using the Buddhist practices in your daily life. I am Thai in Canada, but I am practicing this simple life and I found that very helpful. Sawasdee kha.

I love this kind of video. Thank you for sharing and make this video. I start meditation when I was so young coz it helps me remember things in school. Then I stop for a while coz of busy life then when my grand mother pass away I get lost . I was not happy with many things in life. I start to search for peaceful life by going to temple and practice meditation and I understand the true suffering of this body even you just sitting meditation you feel the pain of this body without moving. This body is a lot of suffering. I found the happiness and feeling light after meditation then I start to open my youtube Channel about teach Thai language. I can understand why you almost cry in the video. To have someone guideline you when you lost is important specially our life are so busy with all material. I hope you find true happiness and keep practicing meditation and share to people more. Have a nice day🙏kòrb kun kâ ขอบคุณค่ะ

The way you’ve turned your own experiences into something meaningful by teaching others through your RUclips channel is truly beautiful. Life can be so busy and overwhelming, but finding that stillness and connection through meditation is such a powerful gift to ourselves and others. I’m so touched that this video resonated with you, and I hope it serves as a reminder to keep embracing those moments of peace. Wishing you continued happiness and success in spreading wisdom through your channel.
Thank you sharing such an inspiring journey! Such a beautiful way of life the Buddhists have. So calm & mindful! Thailand’s culture is one to share! I am so happy that you have found such peace. 🙏🏻❤️
The concepts you have learned & are using have been ways I’ve tried to incorporate in my daily life. I’ve tried to live in kindness & mindfulness…. It’s not always easy to do when other situations present themselves. I used to teach a class of mindfulness to my students. I’ve been practicing meditation & Reike for about 15 years & I work on being a better person with the help of my higher power, my God!! Love you!❤
I love you too and miss you very much. You’re right that it’s. It always easy….and that when it’s most important, even though we want to resist it. I’m so grateful to have you as such an important part of my journey. You have saved me so many times. Thank you for being so amazing
I miss you too my son!!! I think of you often, but of course on Christmas Eve I would have loved you to be there for the quick visit & give you your vodka sauce!! All I can do is try to be a good person … it doesn’t always work…😂 but it feels better than not being nice!! I’m so happy to be part of your journey. It lets me keep up on YOU!! Stay well & keep smiling!! Love you 🥰
Thank you so much for your support and kindness! 🙏 It truly means a lot to know that you’ll be following and sharing the video. I completely agree-giving without expecting anything in return is one of the most beautiful practices we can embrace. Your words are such a meaningful reminder that the impact we make and the good we share are what truly matter in this life. 🌿 Thank you again for your generosity and encouragement. I’m so grateful to have you on this journey with me!
I think you are right. To find refuge in ourselves is the only way to find peace in the world 🌎 One is one’s own refuge; who else could be the refuge? With oneself well-trained, one obtains a refuge that is hard to gain.” - Dhammapada 160
Hey, I appreciate your video about Buddhism in Thai forest path. If you want to know the direct way to across suffering . May be you can fine Ajan Cha or Ajan Pramod to find Vipassana meditation. May be this information can help you to understand The Four noble Truths in Buddhism and find the way to accross suffering.
The t means so much to me! It was Ana amazing experience. I am reading food for the heart right now by Ajan Cha. I have been to his monastery and it’s so beautiful. I will check out your other suggestion too. The 4 noble truths are the foundation. And I’m building on them every day. Satu 🙏❤️
@TheCountryCollectors You made an amazing decision picking Thailand after your breakup. I haven't watched your content for a while and I only just saw today that you and Heidi split up. I've been binge watching your content for the past 4 or 5 hours to catch up on what I missed. It's soo cool seeing your recent content, specifically this particular video. I teared up a lil to see all the growth you've achieved. I'm Japanese so I'm Buddhist/shinto by default but I dont know enough about Buddhism tbh. I'm going to look more into it and visit Thailand as well thanks to you. I look forward to more of your content!
@ thank you so much for your kindness and support. It had always been one of my favorite places but this time it was the one that helped to heal me. The kindness of the people and their ability to make you feel like part of their community helped me more than I can ever repay. It is an ongoing journey that I am grateful to be on. I’m so happy to hear that my adventures here inspired you to travel here. We should meet up if I’m still here when you visit. Thank you again for your support and I can’t wait to share more with you. 🙇🙇🙇
Thank you for the great video! 🙏 I’ve been studying and practicing Buddhism for half a year now, even though I learn it as a subject in the school’s curriculum for almost my whole life. Even my ID stated that I’m a Buddhist but I don’t feel like one, up until recently. (If you didn’t ever suffer, you wouldn’t never seen the truth“, which is true for my case. So, I would like to share some ideas for you, whether it’s for the enlightenment or living a life. The discussion you have with หลวงพี่ is insightful which I feel grateful for that. And I would like to emphasize on the practicing part of discussion. Your comparisons is clear, just like the garden, everyone living their life unknowingly plant a seed of hatred, greed, and other malevolence feelings and thoughts in their mind and it take the same amount of time growing onto you. Sometime it’s too big so you don’t realize how it has impact on you. Of course, the effort it would take to remove the tree could seem impossible at first but with the right tools (ธรรมะ) and constant effort (practicing), the results would come eventually. And if you could “see the world as it is” (รู้เห็นตามความเป็นจริง), the tool could change from merely rusty axe to electric chainsaw. Well if you truly understand, the tree probably wouldn’t exist in the first place! And then it will be when you gain your freedom. Thus, practicing the meditation “สมาธิ” and “วิปัสนา“ (couldn’t find the appropriate word for that, I’m so sorry) are very important! I hope you could have more guidance from หลวงพี่ if you have a chance! Thank you again for sharing your experience. สาธุ 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and thoughts-it really means a lot to me. That quote, “ไม่พบทุกข์ ไม่เห็นธรรม” (“If you didn’t ever suffer, you wouldn’t see the truth”), is such a powerful reminder of how challenges can guide us toward deeper understanding. I’m grateful that this resonated with you and that we could share these insights through the discussion with หลวงพี่. Your analogy of the garden is beautifully said-it’s so true how deeply rooted emotions and habits can take hold without us even realizing. Practicing with the right tools, like สมาธิ and วิปัสสนา, is definitely something I’m continuing to work on myself. Thank you for this encouragement and wisdom-it inspires me to keep learning and sharing. Sadhu to you for taking this path, and I hope we can both continue to grow and support one another on this journey. 🙏✨
Great video Adam! You answered a lot of questions I had about Buddhism. Thank you for that. I could tell right from the start that the experience was touching you deeply which was heartwarming to see. Keep it real.....Happy 2025🙏💛
Thank you so much my Friend! It was really eye opening and enlightening. So many questions answered. It was one of those experiences that changed me and I am so grateful that I could share it with you! I’m glad it gave you some answers!
@@TheCountryCollectors I did share to my Facebook because a lot of my friends have been asking me questions about the temples and the religion and the people. Detachment because I see so much attachment around me in the western world. And like you also sold (almost everything) for freedom. Fear is also something I have to face regularly as a solo female traveler. I have a saying "the only thing to fear is fear itself"
Thank you so much for sharing my video and spreading the curiosity about temples, religion, and the people! It’s amazing to hear that it’s sparking conversations among your friends. I completely resonate with what you said about detachment. It’s such a powerful concept, especially in a world that often encourages attachment to material things. Selling almost everything for freedom was one of the most liberating decisions I’ve ever made-it really helps shift focus toward what truly matters. As for fear, I admire your courage as a solo female traveler! Facing fear head-on isn’t easy, but your mindset reminds me of a verse from the Dhammapada: “He who has conquered fear is truly free.” - Dhammapada, Verse 397 Keep embracing that freedom and fearlessness. Your journey is inspiring, and I’m so glad you’re here to share it!
Dharma in Buddhism is nature of life and it's eternal truth. Karma in theoretical physics is "Action = Reaction". You can apply everything to Buddhism like science, philosophy, literature, etc...something that you can see with your own eyes or experiences. The goal to stop sufferings in Buddhism is to end "Samsara" or reach to the state of Nirvana or Enlightenment. May you have peace and freedom of your mind. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu
Thank you for such a beautifully articulated comment! Your connection of Dharma and Karma to universal truths, like the principles of action and reaction, is so insightful. It’s amazing how Buddhism can resonate across various disciplines and life experiences, ultimately guiding us toward the cessation of suffering and freedom from Samsara. As the Dhammapada says, ‘Not by mere speech or solemn vows, can one attain enlightenment, but through wisdom, virtue, and discipline’ (Dhammapada 19). May you also find peace and liberation on your path. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu 🙏

As the Dhammapada says:
“Enduring patience is the highest austerity.” - Dhammapada 184
Keep going at your own pace, and don’t be too hard on yourself. Every small effort adds up, and the peace you’re seeking will naturally grow over time. Sending you lots of encouragement on your journey! I’m always here, we can support each other!
Where are you from?
Your dedication to this practice is truly inspiring, and it reminds me of this verse from the Dhammapada:
“As a solid rock is not shaken by the wind, so the wise are not moved by praise or blame.” - Dhammapada, Verse 81

Your comment also reminds me of a verse from the Dhammapada:
“Contentment is the greatest wealth.” - Dhammapada 204
It’s such a powerful reminder that true richness isn’t found in material things but in finding peace and gratitude in what we already have.
I’m so grateful you took the time to express your thoughts so deeply. It’s inspiring to see how much these teachings resonate with you and the importance of preserving them in modern times. Thank you for adding so much value to the conversation! 🙏

It also reminds me of this verse from the Dhammapada:
“Better than a thousand hollow words is one word that brings peace.” - Dhammapada, Verse 100

Did anything resonate with you specifically?

Your words remind me of a beautiful verse from the Dhammapada:
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” - Dhammapada, Verse 1
Practicing mindfulness, whether in eating, speaking, or even shopping, helps us shape a more peaceful and intentional life-one free of regrets, as you mentioned. I’m so glad to hear you’ve found comfort and guidance through these practices. Keep shining your light and walking this mindful path!

I don’t know how to describe in deep as my English is not excellent
Why Buddhism is more like science than religion you may know that humans use only 10% of brain ? What about the rest? May be Buddha found how to use the rest 90% but he can’t explain and beyond capability of human can understand that and I find that quiet interesting and someday I will proof it by practice meditation.
But what I don’t understand in spite that Buddha taught to have logical thinking, reasonable but most of Thai people always believe in opposite way like superstition and mixed Buddhism with Hindu and some other nonsense
youtube.com/@dhamma.by.ajahn.jayasaro?si=w7buoKL08HrgaCTf
Above like is a FARANG who being a monk in Thailand for 30-40 years if you may interest and want to learn more about Buddhism he is really good monk

Adam, as always your videos are eye opening. I loved it, I hope some day I can experience it. I like it’s a way of life not necessarily a religion but a way of life we should drive for. Everything that was said made so much sense, my continued busy life keeps me at an anxious state of mind not a peaceful one. Simply but the best answer

By the way, I also included Thai subtitles in the video to make it easier to follow along for anyone who prefers them. I hope they’re helpful if you decide to watch again-or share it with others!
Thank you for your support and for sharing your journey with me. I hope we can keep walking this path of learning and mindfulness together. Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu. 🙏❤️

I am not sure, but what you have discussed with the monks and what you have explained to me is true in my daily life. But some things are not possible in the society we live in or with people in each culture. But we will learn and understand each reason and the events that happen to us every day.
@@TheCountryCollectors I shared your video with my Spanish friends, hoping they will understand and apply it to their daily lives.

Wat Pa Nanachat is such a peaceful and inspiring place-I’ve actually been there many times.
Satu! 🙏😊

Thank you again for your generosity and encouragement. I’m so grateful to have you on this journey with me!

I think you are right. To find refuge in ourselves is the only way to find peace in the world 🌎
One is one’s own refuge; who else could be the refuge? With oneself well-trained, one obtains a refuge that is hard to gain.” - Dhammapada 160

Thank you so much! Did anything resonate with specifically?
Satu 🙏❤️
Please feel free to share with your friends! It gets your amazing culture out to the world and really helps me out too! 🙏❤️🙇🇹🇭😊
Sharing is great 😊

Wow... Awesome video! I learned a lot about Buddhism from this. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I’m so grateful that you found it helpful. I’m grateful to share with you 🙇❤️
@TheCountryCollectors You made an amazing decision picking Thailand after your breakup.
@@TheCountryCollectors That's very kind of you to offer! If I make it out there in time, then yes! Until then, take care my friend 🙏🏼
@ of course! Let me know and we can work it out. You too!

Thank you for the great video! 🙏
I’ve been studying and practicing Buddhism for half a year now, even though I learn it as a subject in the school’s curriculum for almost my whole life.

Please feel free to share! Did anything speak to you specifically? 🙏
Facing fear head-on isn’t easy, but your mindset reminds me of a verse from the Dhammapada:
“He who has conquered fear is truly free.” - Dhammapada, Verse 397
Keep embracing that freedom and fearlessness.
