When comparing displays we can consider factors like size, resolution, and panel types.

I still don't understand why some people keep saying that: I have been using 4k monitors in macOS for the last 5 years (I have this one now) and there is no need for any extra app to have all the Retina (or HiDPI) resolutions available.
It all comes down to what type of player you are; If you play casually, a 4k 60hz would be perfect for you but if you are a minimum active player you will need 120hz to be comfortable... let's see the average number of people are active, so generally a 2k with 120/144hz is ideal.
Yeah, I am not a player. Software developer here. So I rather have a higher resolution with slower refresh. This monitor looks good for the task. Despite the gamer looks.
I'm kinda confused because I have an rtx 3080 ftw3 and i7 12700k and wanna go with 4K gaming but everyone says stick with fps and I don't really care about framerate or play first person shooter games that give me no interest and I just find boring. I'm mostly like 3rd person open world games and would love to run fallout 4, arma 3, ghost recon, the witcher 3 and assassin's creed games at 4K. What do you recommend???
Yes most gamers just think about fps and no care for high resolution for high pixel density. Personally I rather have high res monitor all the time and if I need more fps I will lower res. But the option for 4k is necessary for me. I have 100ppi display and it's not good enough compared to my 180+ ppi tablet. Some cant tell but for me it's a massive easy difference. My eye is on the Samsung g70a 28 inch 4k ppi of 157 which is pretty good and overkill for competitive but I can always lower res, like if I need fps that badly i wont mind the blur anyways. Most ppl who say they cant see 4k are usually ppl who have there monitor across the desk 💀💀💀💀
I sit very close LESS then an arms length away maybe about 1/3 of arm so I can easily see difference that some might see same
visuals > fps, if you're not some super competitive gamer. if you still haven't made the switch, definitely give 4K or ultrawide some love. your specs will easily handle either.
So if I’m playing NCAA or Madden or even Elden Ring. 4k would be the way to go ?
And what if I play COD or Rainbow 6 ?

I just bought the monitor, and I like it, and I like the review, but I wish you had spend a little time on the buttons above the on/off button-what they do, whether or not you should mess around with them.

According to ASUS this gaming monitor has an IPS panel and uses the DCI-P3 color space.
What's the difference? The 8 and 9? I heard the 8 version can do 120hz with Xbox One X. But idk. This one has HDR10. Perfect for playing Kingdom Hearts 3 IMO. But idk if it's good for playing on emulators too or not. Should I be fine if I'm not much of a shooter person? Only games I play are VR games, Emulators, but I do want to play Destiny. Should I be fine with this monitor running with Nividia graphic cards? I own a 1660 Super. Shouldnt matter?

@@almightyypack1604 I use it with my ps5 and it's great yeah, only problem is the hdr isn't amazing but it's still better than not having it on for certain games like god of war and the spider man games. If you want something that has really good hdr you're gonna need to spend a lot more for a monitor with high peak brightness

I pick up the vg289q1a expecting it to be as good as the router. I was mistaken, this monitor is all bark no bite. Word to the wise you find a good brand stick with it just look for the latest model. Been a Benq owner for almost a decade. Figured I would try something different. For FPS, you better off elsewhere. My 7yr RL2460HT can do lapse around this. IMO
For my taste the monitor is perfectly fine.

No point with PS4 because PS4 can't output at 4k monitor, it'll look good still but it will look a lot better with ps5 which can output at 4k

@@zoepound1583 yeah I have this monitor, PS4 only outputs 1080p so it's kinda a waste with normal PS4 unless you get PS4 pro. If you want most out of this monitor then it's best to get ps5

no it cannot go above 60. If a monitor says 60 then you cannot go above that no matter the resolution

@@alejandro10adlr To get 120hz, normally 144hz in retail is about double this monitor. So if it’s a financial decision, this is the best 4k one for the price, but it is 60hz.
All this talk about the monitor, and you didn’t mention even once the refresh rate…

yes of course, it's a 16:9 aspect ratio, so it will drop to 2560x1440 and 1920x1080p also if needed.
