Fly Tying The Flat Daddy

  • I get so many people asking me to do a video of this little and very productive fly, so here it is!
    It works ever so well, it's a fly that covers so many foods and that's why it's so good, more so from July onwards.
    First shown to me by my mate Andy Taylor about 10 years ago, it's just gone from strength to strength!

    Does this fish best static, or with movement? I’m trying to imagine what would give this style the edge over the more imitative patterns we’re used to, with the extended body, splayed legs, wings and dry fly hackle. This style is definitely up-and-coming, some using brightly coloured foam. Quite mysterious.
