I do a lot of mountain biking and just ordered the retrax pro xr. I really like your Yakima rake setup. I was wondering if you could possibly tell what Yakima components I would need to haul my bikes above the cover?
You need the Yakima Landing pads, for the Control Tower System. I don't have all the individual component parts as it was all sent to me as a part of the package. I bet you can take a picture of the system I have over to REI and they can piece it together. Just looking at the website it looks like they are calling this the SkyLine System with the Jet Stream crossbars with the SmartT-Slot Kit. The T slot is what is on the retrax
No rattle's, leaking only in really hard wind driven rains and it can be fixed with some clear silicone. Only problem I had was a hail stone cracked it. The aluminum might be a better choice.
If you live in an area that experiences large hail, you might want to consider the aluminum. I have a crack in mine after the first hail storm of the year and there isn't a dent in my Ford so it didn't hold up well at all.
Good as new so far. I do a lot of wood working and I was worried about all the sawdust getting in the rollers but so far its great. Just remember, get a separate locking mechanism for the tailgate if you can unlock from inside the truck. A burglar can just break a window and hit the unlock button and get around this and the PRO pretty easily without it.
This is an amazing point. I have watched dozens of reviews and videos on these and not one person bothered to mention that all this security is for naught if the burglar has two brain cells to rub together and your truck bed has an electric lock. Thanks! Save me a lot of time and money.
I just purchased the rail system and the landing pad 20. Doesn’t look like it is the correct landing pad due to the plates being vertical and not horizontal. Am I missing something or is this the wrong landing pad number? Thanks for the help
I purchased the same model but I am having weird sliding/rolling on the right side where there is no lock. When its fully closed and locked, i'll drive it around the block and the right side rolls back about a half-inch. Does yours do that?
I would get the heavy duty aluminum if I did it all over again. I had a large piece of hail go right through this thing. Some guerilla duct tape hides it well but shit.... that is Texas I guess. I bought a hail protector right afterwards though. Insurance wont replace the tonneau due to hail. I took it to Seattle and then Yellowstone from Texas and having a rack sytem above the locked bed was awesome.

But I have the Yakima Jetstream's, risers, and landing pads
Jon Ballard I must be a moron. I can’t meet at $750 kit to attach the crossbars to the rack right? Which are the bracket to attach to the crossbars. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills
The Retrax is a great cover...however..... It is NOT waterproof. I installed it and two days later my bed was full of water. Ruined some of my gear. Now I have to park my truck on a slight incline to prevent the water from getting in and sitting in the front of the bed. Not cool for a 2k cover!!
Water definitely gets in, but not much. Check and see if you're was installed correctly. I drove to Seattle from Texas is heavy ran and had water along the edgesz that's it. And sometimes a little gets in during a heavy storm when it's parked.
How about another update. Still good or did you upgrade? Thanks!
Love it! Good looking

What kind of bed divider is that?
Just made it outta wood and spray painted it.
Update on the cover? Are you still liking it? Does it leak or rattle?

Would you recommend warranty ? Since 4Wheel parts offers one . It’s about 125$ . Thank you I’m advance for feed back .
just curious how much ? 5ft bed
It was around 1400 back then
How did you repair the crack in the polycarbonate?
Black Duct tape.
Hows it holding up?
Man, it's doing great 👍.
Is that the 6.5' bed? How's the cover holding up. Thanks for posting.
Naw it's the 5.5. besides a hole fr a large hailstone, it's perfectly fine. Covered the hole with black guerilla tape and you can't even see it.
Nice cover. Did you put bikes or what on the crossbars?
I have a cargo topper and also bikes but it's easier to stow the bikes over the tailgate.
@@Acreyman Thanks which cargo topper did you get.
Any leaks or other issues? Thinking of picking it up since they now give you the Yakima stuff for free w/a promotion.

@@Acreyman hopefully retrax will help you out there. I'll be looking into the aluminum one then. Thanks
How has the cover been holding up? Undecided on this or the Pro XR.

I love mine
what type yakima base clip did you buy?
The landing pad 20 came with my set-up.

No mine stays locked and shut tight. I would disassemble it and slowly put it back together make sure you didn't miss a step or someone else didn't
After a year what are your thoughts now?

Have you had any issues with the cover like "rising up" or forming a ridge/bubble anywhere? Mine seems to be doing that when parked in sunlight.
Nope! Definitely should have got the aluminum. So far I haven't had that issue at all luckily.
What are the mounts that you used for the t-slot? I’m trying to get this setup just don’t know what I need!

I have the exact same one.. I should have gotten better one. Lock sucks and it doesnt seem strong enough

What website did you get that deal at?
Retrax directly
You have the part number of Yakima crossbar that you got on
...doesn't close anywhere...
