  • ArieForce One is the monstrous Rocky Mountain Construction steel coaster at Fun Spot America Atlanta. This ride features a bevy of airtime hills and four awesome inversions. Designed by Joe Draves, this coaster runs along the road and back edge of the park. And it's now the best coaster in Georgia!

    The thing that puts this ride above my old #1, Steel Vengeance, is the location. The ride experiences themselves are about neck and neck for me. However, even with Fast Lane plus, SV is impossible to marathon. The long wait times make it very tedious. You simply can’t ride Steel Vengeance 30 times in a day, but I was able to do that on ArieForce.

    Hot take: I took a trip to Orlando and Tampa last week. Velocicoaster and Iron Gwazi simply cannot top ArieForce One.
    The night rides on VC and IG are fantastic, but I admittedly thought they both had some lackluster elements. The first half of VC and the stall and outer bank on IG underperformed IMO. The flawless transition between elements and unmatched airtime on AF1 at any time of day keeps it as my #1. I'd put IG's drop and the Mosasaurus roll on VC as my two favorite elements on any coaster, but the outer bank and double up on AF1 are near perfect, and they're on the same coaster. I scheduled a long layover at ATL that provided me with 4 hours at this park. In that four hour timespan, I was able to ride this ONCE. The ride was cycling with riders the entire time. Why did I only get one lap? Because they had an unannounced film event going on and they were only allowing riders who had made a reservation somehow. This was not on their social media or website so it was a total surprise when I arrived. When they did finally open to the public, it took them 27… yes, twenty seven minutes to dispatch the first train. I got my one lap in row 4. The line was down the stairs and the station packed so I couldn’t risk waiting an unknown amount of time for a second lap. In the course of over 50 minutes they had dispatched 3 trains. This park has some serious growing pains to work out, and their management needs much improvement. All their shirts had been sold out for weeks ahead, so that was missed income opportunity for them. There were several other enthusiasts here coming to the park on their way to coaster con and had the same experience. While great for ATL locals who can casually drop by for a few laps maybe with a season pass, I cannot recommend visiting this park for long distance travelers at this time.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Год назад +1

      I know they had run out of shirts, but they had restocked when I visited in late May. That's unfortunate they didn't make the filming event known. That probably led to a backlog for the wait you experienced.

    Its a great RMC. Unfortunately when I rode it I had a bad day...lots of fighting Atlanta traffic to get there, I just had a bad disposition. So I was just a bit out of it to enjoy such an intense ride. Its not pertinent to the ride itself other than to say it is WAY out of the way, because Atlanta traffic is brutal. So if you go to visit this ride, factor in the time/energy/enjoyment factor of the whole trip. Get there with plenty of time to relax and unwind from the trip itself. One fantastic thing about this is that if you love hard-core coasters, there are no crowds. If you get the all-access ticket you can ride it 20 times in a row.

    Do you prefer this over Iron Gwazi? I’m pretty sure I’d like this more than iron Gwazi for the better airtime on AF1 and the great set of inversions. I haven’t ridden AF1 or IG. I’m sure Steel Vengeance would be my favorite RMC though given the length of the ride and the overall amount of quality airtime and quantity airtime.

  • @jacobselleck9750

    Not having ridden it yet, not sure I would like it as much as others. Without a doubt, Iron Gwazi and SV would still be ranked higher. Iron Gwazi above SV, but I'm not that much of a fan of twisted timbers and SV is borderline too repetitive with ejector hills, I would maybe have AF1 be 3rd, maybe 4th best.
