I produce music and I used WeTransfer to send music to artist. I like it because it lets me know if the artist got it and downloaded the files. If not? it expires after a few days. But then I started thinking would I be better off using dropbox.
I find your video quite interesting and professional. If I may suggest that you use your pointer an indicate the direction of the movement right/left or top right/toleft so that we can follow you on the screen.

Not exactly. 1.) Depending on which Dropbox plan you have, your uploaded files DO NOT persist. In basic plan, uploaded files expire in 30 days. To serve as a Time Machine, your files would need to persist until you deleted them. 2.) Why would you use up you use up valuable your Drop Box cloud space as an archive? That's what your iCloud (or PC equivalent) account, or your computer's hard drive is for... ...Time Machine is super easy to install & use, and should be paired with an external hard drive. Even multi-terabyte external hard drives are fairly affordable & easy to set up. ...hope this helped.
Too crazy hard for me. So many versions on one desktop. They all don't do the same thing. I'm trying to add one folder to another, but have no option to do so.

I also use Dropbox and my question is why does it keep a copy on your PC, especially if you have hundreds of gigabytes as this just takes a lot of hard drive space, is there a way around this? Also if you save some files to DB on your desktop does it automatically save to the cloud, as i have found that some file were saved to DB on my PC but never showed up in the cloud and others that I work with said I never saved them there, this then created problems with which file is the most recent.

Dropbox working bad with Excel files. If autosave is switched on, antivirus and dropbox upload in the same time caused file freeze. Sometime it unstucks after pair of minutes, sometimes not. Windows 10, Office 365, any antivirus.
For those who feel the info is too fast you can click those 3 dots at the bottom of the video & change the playback speed to x0.75 or x0.50 to make it easier to digest.

Rise Daughter Rise you can send mp3 via email if it’s small enough file. Less than 20 mb usually which is most mp3 files. Otherwise, you can put it in dropbox and copy the link, and share that link. Only people with that link can see the file and play it. Email might be easier in this case though

Unfortunately, you don't seem to understand that the viewer, (me), is using this video to learn how to use Drop Box and doesn't necessarily have all of the mastery and baseline information that you have. Could you please slow down and go into a little more detail? Also, do you have a version that doesn't use MAC? I understand the idea of uploading files, but I like to remove the file from my laptop Hard Drive once I upload to DropBox and still have access to the file. Anytime I remove a file from my laptop Hard Drive i no longer can't access it via DropBox. Am I doing something wrong?
Jose F Rodriguez when the computer is synced with Dropbox, whatever you do on your hard drive also happens in Dropbox. They only way I know around it is to not sync your computer and Dropbox and basically use it as a web app. So go to Dropbox.com and upload files there. I really don’t like how that’s set up but don’t know a way around it. You either have to use it that way or have it sync up like I do which makes changes to dropbox locally and in the cloud at the same time, which doesn’t sound ideal in your case
I appreciate the fast reply. As you suggested I am using the web app version but it is still on the Hard Drive and if I delete it from the hard drive, it also deletes it from the DropBox. Again, thank you for your quick response.
Jose F Rodriguez that’s odd. Try to see if you can somehow unlink dropbox and your computer. That’s the only reason they are sync deleting but that should only happened with the computer app. I’m not sure how to unlink them in your case

yes they can stop you using your drop box after a year and you will lose everthing
