Hello Leo, Thanks for the great article! Your explanation is clear and easy to understand. You speak clearly and slowly, and your illustrations are great! I found your website, and subscribed to your newsletter. Keep up the good work!
The problem I experience is that the person I securely shared the file with can see all my other files. I only want the person to be able to see the file I sent them, not the list of files in my dropbox account. On top of that the password I create for the shared folder is not required. I want the share file to require they enter the password I created. Dropbox is not a product that is secure. You need to use another program for that.
Be careful what you upload to any file sharing service. Once you upload it, they own it. Remember that the personnel that run dropbox (or any other file sharing service) are complete strangers, and you are uploading your files to their computers. If you do not want anyone else to see it, then you must encrypt your files before uploading them to dropbox (or anywhere else).
thanks Leo, I am a CPA and want to use Dropbox to share documents with my clients,... I mainly want to use Drobox for my clients because of the scanner on the mobile app... So, I would like to see from the aspect of sharing the folder to client then them getting I guess a free account and uploading documents to the folder. So, I guess a file Request to send files back to me into the Folder I shared with them... I guess at some point I'd have to create a PW and share that...
Dropbox is a great tool you can use to exchange files with others. It’s also easy to get confused.
This is the best explanation I have seen. Thanks.

you must of shared a folder, and you obviously did something wrong with the password.
Can these methods still be used when using Cryptomator plus Dropbox? Thank you
In theory, I think so, but you'd have to share a cryptomator setup and password with your recipients.
Thank you for the great lesson
Very helpful indeed, thank you.🍷🍷
Thanks a lot Leo :)

How do you get your dropbox into "My Documents"?
You don't. They're two separate things. Dropbox can back up the Documents folder, but it's not part of Dropbox per se.
I need Mac not windows
