He has shared them with me with EDIT permission AND at times I need to upload NEW files to his drop box folders. The only way I know how to access those files is to log into my BASIC drop box plan (with 2GB storage), synch those files back to my drop box account and then access them on Drop box web/Cloud via my account. The problem I have is that this is filling up my 2GB storage instantly. A little upset here. I decided to try Dropbox the other day. Started downloading all of my files, folders and desktop from my Mac. That's when the problems started. All of the folders that I had organized on my desktop are now gone. The background on my desktop is gone and now displays a blue background. My screensaver is also gone. What did I do wrong and how do I reverse this?
Hi Tom, I'm sorry to hear! Check you bin to make sure they are not deleted. If so drag them out. Also, jump onto the web version of Dropbox and see if you can locate your folders and drag them back to your desktop.
Hello Mr. Stewart, I'm have a small issue, and I couldn't find a straight solution for it. I have subscribed to dropbox, and whenever I upload a photo or a video on the cloud and delete it from the media, it gets deleted in the cloud as well. I just want to store my stuff in the cloud so I can reset my phone and download my stuff again. Can you help me with that?
Hey mate, Yes you can simply upload and save your media into Dropbox. You might just need to change your settings. Dropbox has many useful articles to help you with this.

Where l can request files from them (lve just learnt that) and they can upload to the file we are sharing. No one else must be able to see this clients file. You are welcome mate! Sorry I currently do not. You can simply share folders/files to specific clients. I do not have a tutorial on this but there will be information online if you are struggling to do this yourself. Simply privately share each folder with the email of you clients.

@@StewartGauld Thanks, but I finally noticed that little box that needs to be checked if you want only one page. After checking it, I also solved many of my other problems by using a template. My spreadsheet still needs final proof-reading, but it's already good enough that I posted it on Facebook.(I need some reward after all of the time and effort that I spent on it.) when I tried to install desktop app in windows 7, it did not get installed. It asks permission to run when I click on installer file but after I give permission the installation wizard doesnt open and nothing happens. No error msg or nothing. it just doesnt get installed. Yes give Dropbox a go. It great for employee collaboration and sharing information. If 2gb is sufficient for storage. Then drop box is a great free option.

This will be a bit of a long question/ multi step question but im hoping you can help me! I am looking to sync my files between my laptop and desktop, and possibly ipad as i will explain later. I am a music producer, and am a student so I would like to have my digital notes via (one note, or another note software notability for ipad), or, i would like a 2 in 1 laptop and use one note on there. My question is, would one drive or dropbox work better for me? I would like to have these files for example a note stored, locally, as well as in the cloud so i have 2 forms of it right there in case i lose access to my dropbox account or one drive account, or my SSD Breaks. I would along with that back these files up to a google drive just for another storage, along with backup ssd. So do these files store locally and sync locally, or is it only a cloud based hard drive not taking space up on my computer/devices ssd? I would prefer a local sync, with it being backed up to cloud as well. If you were me, what would you do for your file setup structure to save my notes and music files across devices so i can work essentially seemlessly with it being backed up so i dont have to worry about data loss. Hi Andrew, I would personally, sync both Drop Box and Google Drive together with one account. This is what we use. DropBox is great for local and cloud storage and the streamlined sync between the two. You have the option of storing on both (local and cloud), depending on the paid plan. Again, just because this is what we do. I would just use Google drive (cloud only) and Drop box (local and cloud storage). Make sure you connect the two programs together. I hope that helps!

Can anyone solve this problem. A news company sends us mp3 into a designated folder. The file they send is exactly the same file name everytime the send. This updates the previous file (of the same name). A different website that then wants to upload the file several times day (as it updates) needs to be able to have permission to get to the mp3 file in the folder on automation. Everytime the online radio website tries, it gets blocked . How do you get the designated folder open for sharing with the online radio website?? Yes a good tutorial, but too fast. You obviously know the program but by the time I see what you are doing, you have moved on to the next feature. Just pause at each feature before explaining its features.

Hi Stewart.....thank you for responding.....tablet is impossible.....I got onto a public computer and the main screen dropbox and I couldn't figure out where to click to view and also send......I clicked a folder (file) and it asked me if I wanted to save the changes.......what changes......also too make matters worse the print shop botched the first attempt so I was viewing botched data....they have fixed the problem and dropbox is ok now.....i am going to to try again now.......the screen is baffling.....I don't understand the configuration and how to navigate on the 1st dropbox screen........if you could just tell me where to click and how to view and how to send.......the screen looks like it is from Mars.....maybe it's because fed ex kinkos looks diff........library is closed......

The interface might have changed slightly. But you will still be able to create a free/basic account.

Hi Stewart.....thank you for responding.....tablet is impossible.....I got onto a public computer and the main screen dropbox and I couldn't figure out where to click to view and also send......I clicked a folder (file) and it asked me if I wanted to save the changes.......what changes......also too make matters worse the print shop botched the first attempt so I was viewing botched data....they have fixed the problem and dropbox is ok now.....i am going to to try again now.......the screen is baffling.....I don't understand the configuration and how to navigate on the 1st dropbox screen........if you could just tell me where to click and how to view and how to send.......the screen looks like it is from Mars.....maybe it's because fed ex kinkos looks diff........library is closed......
