The Wrecking Crew prevails as Brett Stafford foolishly thinks he can get the 12th man at Kyle Field to quiet down in 1985. A&M crushed the Longhorns 42-10.
I have always heard about this play, but had never seen it. I love how he tries to snap it real quick at the end and the crowd instantly resumes roaring.
"They'll throw a flag against Texas A&M if they can't control this crowd." So you're telling me that in 1985 if it was "too loud" the qb could stand there and delay the game without a flag? Ridiculous. Gig'em.
I was there, first game my parents took me to, was absolutely amazing. That was the year my dad started taking us to bonfire each and every year, staying to watch the game the next day. Great memories.
Even though I remember it, I can't believe that they ever held the home team responsible - by way of a 5-yard penalty - for their crowd "yelling too loudly." Thank goodness that smarter heads prevailed, and you simply say, "You can't hear the snap count? Then go to hand signals." A very interesting footnote in college football history.
its funny how stafford complains about it being to lous so the 12th man quites down a little and when he goes under they come back 10 times louder. HAHAHAH
I was a freshman in the Longhorn Band this year, and this is the one play I still remember from that game. I think I'll go throw up now. Thanks for reading.
Fightin' Texas Aggie 12th Man. The best fans in the nation no doubt. I have been to atleast 100 college football games in my life and no where are the fans better than in College Station at The Kyle Field. And EHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! from the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2014!
Love it. That is so priceless. U.T. thinks they are the face of Texas, but they are and always have been wrong about that. A&M and Baylor are waaaay ahead of U.T.'s program.

I believe UCF received a noise penalty against Troy State (when they were 1-AA) because of the fans lol

actually, yes, that was the rule then...it was a dumb rule they scrapped after that season. They should have scrapped it MID season

I disagree, I think the best part it finally gets quiet enough, and as soon as he gets under center, the 12th Man erupts!
I was one of the fans helping to make it this loud......
I was part of that crowd! And Kyle Field is even louder now after the remodel and additional 25K+ seats!
In today's college football, the horns would be penalized for delay of game twice already here. Awesome.
I love the roar that erupts when he tries taking the snap quickly. hahaha
their coaches reaction is priceless

That's the power of the Fightin' Texas Aggie 12th Man! Gig 'Em and A-A-A Whoop! C/O 2011! A&M...give us room! Whoop!

It never gets old
this is the real 12th man, not seattle
Seattle actually has to pay A&M every year to use that term!

Gig 'em Aggies! BTHO t.u!!! You can't quiet the 12th Man!
I had no idea Matthew Stafford was this old.
Take notes, Seahawk fans.
This is hilarious. The quarterback has his hands at his sides like a little brat. Did anyone notice Todd Dodge pacing the sidelines???
Bwahahahahahaaa! Beautiful. Oh, how I long for these days to return.
Saw this I've and it is still funny..
Tea Sippers always forget that A&M kicked the Longhorns' ass just about every year in the 80's and 90's
my mom was there that game, A&M all the way baby
Hahaha! Crybaby sips! That was freakin' awesome! We need to bring that back folks. See ya @ Kyle Sept. 2nd! Whoop!

what was the deal w/ this rule? im glad they got rid of it. for the sake of college football. not just Texas A&M
haha lets whine about the crowd for a minute just to get sacked hard
that was priceless. gig'em.
Funny how nothing has changed.
At least he didn't have to be carted of the field like McCoy.
Love it. That is so priceless. U.T. thinks they are the face of Texas, but they are and always have been wrong about that. A&M and Baylor are waaaay ahead of U.T.'s program.
