    WHEN I HEAR THIS VERY AMAZING SOUND FROM THIS HONDA CBX, THEN I THINK BACK TO THAT TIME WHEN I PURCHASED THIS ENGINE. IN THE START I WAS SCARED BUT THEN I GOT A TASTE TO DRIVE THIS MONSTER MACHINE AT FULL THROTTLE !!!!!!!!!

    I had a larger oiler cooler made and the original cable would not go passed it, I have since put on a electronic unit positioned between the speedo and non working mechanical unit.We are now gearing up to take her to lake Gairdner in sa for speed week 2017

    Don’t know why everyone’s worries about the tach not working..y’all need to learn how to listen to what the engines telling you not what the tach is telling you..

      Yeah you can tell by feel and ear when the valves begin to float but I would like to have seen actual RPM's being twisted this build is awesome!

    While this is great, hot rodding that 6, with the rarity of original bikes i think i will keep mine stock....except for the 6 to 1 pipe for the sound and because originals are impossible to find without breaking the bank.

    The tach and speedo are from a SOHC cb750

    It lost a lot of power from the flywheel to the wheels, Is there a way to get it back, like change the gearing?

    Way to hit neutral on every shift into 2nd gear. Easy way to prevent that is lower RPMs from 1st to 2nd

    I love this vid and have loved the CBX since I was about 12 years old. One question though with all the money and time put into the motor why is the tack not working?

    How much over square is the motor.? and what is the compression ratio.?

    driving without a working Tach on a tuned CBX? missing gears, no wonder this engine does NOT sound good.
    If any of you think it does sound right, you don't know how a CBX should sound and accelerate.

      @@aaronmccutcheon Smart CBX riders! If you don't have a rev limiter you will damage the engine big time with over revving. You may call yourself lucky if you only have bent valve stems and not broken con rods after missing gears.

      @@edmundzed9870 I'm going to keep looking at the road and what's going on there. I (like almost everyone else that rides) know when to shift by the sound our engines are making and by feel. If you're looking at the tach every time you shift you are probably a pretty dangerous rider.

      @@aaronmccutcheon Keeping your eyes on the road is not a bad idea on a tuned CBX, but how do you think to know how exactly does a CBX sounds at - 12000 RPM, without a tach?

      @@edmundzed9870 on almost every bike power starts to drop off after a certain rpm, therefore if accelerating the bike as fast as it'll go is the goal one needs to shift at the optimal point within the rev range of the bike. You can feel this as you ride. You can look at the tach at first to get an idea of the sound the bike makes when it is the proper time to shift. Knowing when to shift becomes a natural thing that you don't really even think about once you get a little experience riding a bike.

    The CBX was a dog. Just a novelty bike. Any 600cc bike today will smoke a CBX even if its had a lot of tuning

      +Kenneth VanMeter , dogs do not make 170hp. if it was not for the 6 cylinder Hondas, a 600 would not be where they are to day.

      Your right they do sound Awesome!I have owned two of them. But they are not a performance monster. The people saying I'm a know it all. I'm not at all. Most of them I guarantee have never seen one let alone rode one let alone owned one. I talk about what I know. I don't own a 600 just stating a fact. A ZX14 is my weapon of choice these days. Awesome! machine.
