It'll do roughly 80 miles an hour for about 20 hours a day, 364 days a year (no Christmas) for, some people say about 40 years, so 80 x 20 x 364 x 40 = 23,296,000 miles in a life time. Probably.
The whole railway industry in Britain, that is building and running trains, is gone under with the privatisation, or the great British Railways disaster. The French and German Railways are still mostly state owned, and lo and behold, operating in Britain. So sorry. Like the car industry, gone to hell, because the great British public and business think that what you buy anywhere but at home must be better.
I was a CSA for GNER/NXEC/EC, had a HST pulled by a 91 all the way up to Edinburgh... we where V. late by the time we got there...
I have never seen that before! Great video mate.

Well caught, never seen this before! Thanks for sharing, Tim
wow a fantastic video something you really dont see everyday 'favourited'
Great video. ☺️ I just subscribed to your RUclips channel. ☺️
Great vid mate :) I've only ever seen this happen once with Midland Mainline through Kettering.
hello mate do you happen to have the timings for this service? Many thanks
good shot - wow never seen that before - I was once lucky to get tip-off and got a shot of a class 91 loco hauling a HST set on the ECML
Now if all four power cars were powered that would have some wicked acceleration!
Built in the 70's and still going strong, just goes to show we use to build great atrains
Power cars quality built at Crewe between 1972-76!
Those engines must have broke down so that is probably why that HST is triple headed
I saw an hst with two passenger carriages with two power cars yesterday
How much better can you get than 4 locos? - Great video, Faved and Subbed :)
Nice catch!
3 out of 4 of them are Scotrail now
Nice video. Very good
I saw a class 158 pulling a HST past sheffield station
Impossible lol
Great catch! 5*
i have seen a ECML 91 pull a dead 43 set from darlo to newcastle
Just think if all those power cars were active the acceleration would have been better then even the new Hitachi iet operating in diesel mode.
wow i was at didcot but i would have gone to reading but i found ou when it was too late!
Triple Headed HST was rare
and how we now rely on imports, of which cook themselves within the first 2 years (or 2 months in fact!) of service...
