The new Steaua stadium in Bucharest

  • The newly built Steaua Stadium in Bucharest, Romania will soon be received by the Romanian Ministry of Defense, the owner of the Steaua sports club.
    The whole complex was built between February 2019 and November 2020 on the grounds of the former Ghencea Stadium (demolished in 2018). The cost of to project is about 78 million euros.
    The new Stadium has 31.254 seats and will be a UEFA category 4 venue. The field has a hybrid pitch and can host both football and rugby matches.
    Also, the complex has multiple training facilities for other sports like boxing, wrestling, table tennis, bowling or shooting disciplines.
    The complex also features a 24 room hotel, an undeground parking with 574 places, UEFA and FIFA standard press area and skyboxes and spaces for a future Museum for the Army sports club.
    The Stadium was built by SCC Erbașu (Construcții Erbașu), Concelex and Terragaz Construct.
    The designers were Graphic Studios, Popp&Asociații and M.C. General Construct Engineering.
