One thing I was never made aware of, my crestie is one year and under 10 grams, was detailed info on how to feed them. You should make sure the food is deep and not just a thin layer. Mine only really eats in one place and since I've started putting more food in the cap it eats a lot more. Hopefully I didn't stunt it's growth and it'll reach full adult size. It's depressing
I'm getting a rescue crestie next week, he's 5 years old and the previous owner wasn't able to care for him anymore. I can't wait to meet him and give him a great life
I’m rocking a 18x18x36 for mine and gives you so much room to have fun decorating and he uses it all Also hit reptile expos for corkbark so much cheaper and you can get really cool pieces
Keep it pushing bro. I see you passion, and determination. Don’t let outside influences taint what you started this for, ever. Much love man. Good luck. 🍀
This was the most helpful video I’ve seen for crested gecko care and what to know. I’ve done a lot of research, so I knew most of the info, but you covered it all extremely well and I thank you for that. Keep it up bro ✊🏻
Okay I'm not throwing shade but I've been trying to comment and encourage all the reptile RUclipsrs to do care guides that no one's done. Adam from wickens wicked reptiles uploaded this exact video like last week. There are four thousand crested gecko care guides. Will you do a care guide on some of your more unique species?? I have always wanted a jungle carpet python and I know you have one and it's cared for well. I would love to see a care guide about them or some other unique little guy you have in your collection. Please and thank you!
I think you may have missed a video where we explain our big downsize. Currently we only work with new Cal, tokays, tegu and quinces. We have also decided to stick with only making content on the animals we breed which leaves the majority of our content new Cal and tokay.
Also a good point to add is I make these care guides for my customers so they know how their gecko has been cared for and what to expect when they get a baby from me.
@@Dakotahblueexotics makes sense! I did see that you downsized but I know you still know how to care for some of the more unique species. And ya know views=money for you. But I get where you're coming from. Like I said, no shade, just really hoping some of the people I watch will upload care guides on not just the same species over and over again. **Tokay care guide..???
You need a heat source if you live in a cold place. My house is cold, we have a heat lamp and a thermostat set to 28 C Also, my Crestie, also a dalmatian called Cookie, died of suspected MDB due to a lack of D3. So my new gecko will always have UVB, as for some reason its not supplied in the "complete" diet.
omg thank good you said cookie was a chunky one, since my gecko is between 50 and 55 grams and ive read thats normal to overweight and then i got kinda nervous seeing how big and gorgeous cookie is
Hey I need help my crested gecko hasn’t eaten gecko diet in 20 days he didn’t like his new food and he is losing weight if I get food on amazon it will get her Sunday I’ve been feeding him crickets but will that be enough till Sunday
Keep pushing man but here are a few things you could definitely work on, lighting, thumbnails, and if you really wanna get big on RUclips change up your channel the only top 5/ care guide channel people really watch is WWR! You should change it up so you can get more views and make it try to also get more comfortable on camera as well!
I just got my crestie yesterday. He is really enjoying it but idk if its eating as much as it should. He's very tiny and my guess is hes just about a month old. Any tips for handling him? Hes very jumpy and I dont want him to lose his tail.
I have started keeping my crested gecko around late May 2023 and he was born in February 2023. I have noticed that my crested gecko hates the light even at night. If I turn the lights on in the room and I am not talking about a lamp in his enclosure but a regular light in the room (it's still shady with it in his enclosure) he hides after a few minutes. He completely hates light somehow what is strange because according to crested gecko journals and what I see with yours is that they do not mind light and will just chill and eat even if there is still some light source and not almost complete darkness. Why does my crested gecko have such huge lightphobia if I can call it that? A bit of light and he stops all sorts of activity and finds a place to hide. ): I do not understand why.
Crested geckos *are* nocturnal, so it’s understandable if they dislike light. Mine isn’t exactly like yours, but he likes to be in the shade when the lights are on and is often in his coconut hide during the day. Crested Geckos sort of have personalities, so yours just may be more touchy about light. It’s just a quirk. I promise your gecko is okay :)
If you do that, you run the risk of them not eating plus it's harder to keep track if they are pooping and peeing. For babies a small tub enclosure on paper towel is ideal.
Just keep an eye out for any unusual behavior. If they’re trying to get to each other, they’re probably not friends. Watch for changes in behavior, too. As long as everything seems normal, I bet it’s fine

Yo Dakota, thoughts on co habbing something like a mossy gecko with a gargoyle?
I got my first crestie ❤and he’s a frog butt Dalmatian! and I think flame? Still learning
Can you please make a care guide video for keeping eggs?!

Question here what is considered a baby or juvenile and what's considered a adult? Mines 8 grams
You don't use UVB for your collection, however think it's a good idea...
Yep
Would you ever make a guide on making an llc for one breeding side business. Or for a not for profit rescue?

I might try aluminum foilage.
Can you buy an adult enclosure for a baby?

@@brandyboyd9102 ok thanks
@@brandyboyd9102 how do you give them uvb if they are in a tub ?
Is it a problem if my crested gecko can see my knob-tailed gecko? I have an L shaped desk and they're neighbors

Just grabbed a fire skink
Arboreal, tropical, and no heat or uvb requirements?? Darn, they're starting to really win me over...
It depends where you live
My wife wants one
We have several available now ;)
When you’re at work so you have to wait to watch the vid😢
That's just something to look forward to ;)
