My gecko was a tiny baby when i got it.. It's been in a 24*24*36 enclosure since i brought it home in nov of 2022.. It's doing great! It's all over the enclosed. Often. Top to bottom.. Sleeps in every plant.
In Alaska I would definitely need heat. I want one of the new Caledonia geckos at some point but I want to wait until my daughter is a little older because I know they are fragile. If it was out and jumped on her she might accidentally hurt it. I have a leopard gecko and a ball python. I never let her handle either one, but it's easier for me to put those guys away easily and quickly if she were to wake up and come in while I'm hanging out with them at night.
1: For a 3 month old Crested Gecko would large Critter Crate be sufficient? 2: At what size would you recommend switching from paper towels to actual substrate?
I have a 36Lx12Wx18H (33 gallon tall) enclosure, would that be suitable for a crested gecko? I see a lot of them being rehomed on Craigslist and I was wondering if I could adopt one, especially one of the crested geckos being kept in a 10 gallon with red lights
you would want the height to be the 36in, so if you could do a conversion kit that could work...although if you need supplemental heat, a converted enclosure will not allow you to.
Can you put them by a window? I have two windows and I plan on getting one soon. I plan on putting them by my window on a table, I do have curtains. So if you could give me your opinion it'd be really helpful
The Pangea has all the nutrients for them but if you are using live bugs probably like a few times a week but you don’t really need to if ur using both
hey i was wondering: what feeder bugs are harmful or not to cresties?? are hornworms safe every once in a while? i've heard crickets can be dangerous to cresties, is that true?
I believe he said 20 gallon long vertically. Which in that case it would be okay. There are conversion kits out there to turn a horizontal aquarium into a vertical. However, if you are crafty enough, you can do it yourself. Hope that helps. :)
care guides often care more about the money than an animals health. if your house is cold enough to need heat for a crested, you *need* a thermostat because too much heat can be lethal.
Something I've seen before that you should do is make an ad for yourself. When you mention you have cresties you say something like "that brings us to today's sponsor, which is ME" and pimp your morph market
Hey guys can someone help me? I have had two young tokay geckos for a month, I have a 1 meter high and 90 wide terrarium where I keep them. I have a temperature of 28-30 degrees in the terrarium. I spray the terrarium twice a day for moisture. but i have the problem that since i got them they haven't eaten once i have offered them many insects but they are not interested. However, the geckos are active at night and show no signs of being unwell, what can be the reason that the geckos are not eating?
tokays can often be wild caught and sometimes take a while to get comfortable in an enclosure...if wild caught, get them to a vet and test for parasites and etc.
@@danielsalanitri4940 Pet stores very often sell animals that were wild caught. Meaning your animal was ripped from living outside to live in a captive environment. Many do not adjust well to this and can be very shy. Unless your pet store specifically stated they were "CBB" which means captive born *and* bred, they were likely to be from the wild and or possibly not socialized when they were young. Tokays in general though can sometimes always be defensive.
@@sneekyalexa2657 no, i live in germany and there are no tokay geckos in the wild, which is clear. and i am sure that it is not an import because i have the papers from a german breeder so they were born in germany
@@danielsalanitri4940 ohh okay yeah my bad! Give them some more time, and try to have a schedule for them and sit next to them, I hope they eventually calm down for you!
Great video! I would love you to send me something beautiful to watch. I have two lizards a Green Day gecko and a leopard gecko dreaming about getting a chameleon and have someone local that breeds exotic crested you know those fancy morphs and I am going to try to get a around $50 one he has them up into the several thousands of dollars. I have an abundance of cages and reptile equipment so I welcome you to send me something beautiful.
The problem is that care has changed a lot in the last decade and much of the information online tends to be older and based on outdated information. It sounds dumb but I actually go to RUclips to get the most updated info the fastest for reference. Now, if you're trying to research a new animal for the first time you probably want to watch a few of these, but in general I find them to be better than the websites Google likes to push.
Great video! I often explain to people the “ketchupy consistency” verbatim 😂 made me laugh hearing it

Age does not tell size much, although that should be fine.
I would need weight to give a better answer

Cool video, thanks man. Can a male and female be kept together? Also, can they be handled during the day or only at night? TY

Topic #6
How many can you pick up before one jumps away?
The most important care topic in my opinion.
That sounds like a short if I've heard of one!
I want to get a crested gecko but i dont know were to purchase one, i want a reliable breeder. Do you hav any suggestions?
Dakotahblueexotics.com would be a good place!

is it ok to have a cresty in a 20 gallon long?
No. It's an arboreal gecko. Height is more important than width.

Why do pet guides say to have all types of light balbs ?

We're pretty low on stuff and with winter coming around the corner shipping is all but closed, but not a bad idea!
