I really screwed up, I always just assumed that Transylvania was its own separate nation this whole time, I didn’t know it was part of Romania now and I feel really embarrassed.
On the bright side...I learned something today.
(You weren't alone, Doc.)
Wait....Transylvania is a really place 😱
Oh it’s OK doc and hey since you’re honoring ken and Joe you should do a review of the Scooby Doo project it’s a parody version of the Blair witch Project plus you have the characters roasting each other some funny stuff and you never know scrappy it might be in there to
Blaim it on goulash
It's ok it happens
“You stop that.”
That line made me choke on my ice tea.
I'm 30 years old with ADHD, autism, and aspergers, and Scooby Doo always puts a smile on my face when I'm down just like Doctor Wolfula does. Thank you Cyd for all your hard work and entertainment sir!
Have a beautiful day!
Even though they're gone Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and their creations will never be forgotten. They shaped up my childhood and I'll never forget that.
I just picture this Actor dude running frantically to change costumes every few minutes to keep up with the gang. Surprised he didn't collapse from exhaustion. Also surprising how he's a chameleon like Master of Disguise yet never returned to pull more tricks.
Transylvania is in Romania, so Daphne is correct.
I'm glad this series is continuing!
Ruby-Spears also made a criminally underrated superman animated series way back before bruce timm.
Agreed, I loved that show! It doesn't get acknowledged as much as it should.
I remember this episode would play often around or during halloween. Which makes a lot of sense. It's a kid friendly way to see the iconic monsters that's often decorations or even costumes. I really love the monster designs in this,
Get pika chi away from that “flag”!
You honor this show, its legacy, and all the fantastic people behind it wonderfully.
I was wondering where this series went
It went to boomerang.
Oops I dropped my glasses, chase me into the playroom!
Transylvania is in Romania.
Duuuuude I was just thinking this morning when I woke up how cool it would be if you returned with Scooby Doo's Day because of the New Year! 👏
Unfortunately, this was one of the few classic episodes from Season 1 that I did NOT grow up with, so I don't have a ton of nostalgia for it. However, I do think it was cool that they brought together a lot of the classic Universal monsters together for this fun little crossover. (It also made for a chaotically hilarious YTP collab). I can't wait for you to talk about "Which Witch is Which?", "Spooky Space Kook," & "A Night of Fright is No Delight" in the future. (The latter episode especially freaked me out as a kid because I thought the Phantom Shadows were creepy as hell...both in design AND in their gargling laughter). 🎃
R.I.P Ruby & Spears; thank you for gifting us with such an iconic series. 💫
Daphne calling Dracula (who infamously impaled his enemies) a weird man
He’s also a womanizer, so I don’t blame Daphne for that comment.
A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts is one of my favorite Scooby Doo episodes. And Scooby Doo is one of the greatest episodes ever!
I have Classic Scooby Doo A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts on VHS with the bonus episode "Who's Afraid of The Big Bad Werewolf?"
I honestly couldn't get over Frankenstein's monster suddenly growling like the werewolf when he was chasing Shaggy and Scooby in the laboratory, always threw me off haha
Maybe Big Bob Oakley forgot to be in character.
The werewolf is Dr Wolfula’s incestual cousin.
Glad scooby duesday is back
Can you really say anything more positive about this channel and the presentation at this point?
Yes I can and will LOL good job Doc
Oh the nostalgia yes😀.
Back when Hanna Barbara was actually a thing.
6:30 Haha Daphne's bangs are _behind_ Fred's head!
I think I still have my old VHS with this episode on it
So hyped to see the return of this series! 💜 great start for 2021
To be fair, this was meant to be the series that started to Scooby franchise. I'm guessing this is when the characters gradually had their personalities develop over the course of the show.
Well, the males already have notable traits, but not by much, but the females did have improved personalities since this episode.
A childhood memory...a good one
My teenage son and I literally squealed and hopped up and down when we saw that you posted a new Scooby review! Now we're going to order dinner in and have a mother/son night watching the video. Thanks for making our night awesome!
A mother reconnecting her son through favorite franchises. Amazing Parenting Win!
@@robbiewalker2831 Thank you!
YES FINALLY! Love this series
Glad to see this series again and love the Ruby and Spears tribute
*So* glad to have Scooby Tuesday back! Really dig these
YES very glad to see this series sticking around
I love this episode
It is odd the characters don't refer to dracula and frankenstein by their proper names, dracula had just entered the public domain a few years before and frankenstein had been public domain since before that. My guess is while the literary versions were public domain. The universal versions weren't
And since the monsters in this episode are very similar appearance wise to the universal versions my guess is Hannah Barbera and Ken speares didn't want universal suing them
When it comes to monsters I guess by now shaggy would be an expert on werwolves seeing how he’s bin one and worked as teacher where one of the students was a werewolf. But one thing always confuses me because of Dracula acts completely different in the
Reluctant werewolf then he does in the ghoul school . My personal theory was those movies both happened in the same time but different universes .
0:12 DAME YOU 2020!
Been waiting for this!
Velma: Calls a dungeon a playground and devices to lock you up as toys.
My pervy self: Oh yeah, Velma is kinky.
How could anyone think Scooby isn't a cultural phenomenon? In terms of character recognition you could go the world over and Scooby would be known right up there with Mickey and Superman.
Or maybe more popular than Mickey and Superman; probably on the same level as Popeye and Mario.
RIP ruby and spears they are good cartoonist.
Isn’t Transylvania in Romania though?
Not until WWI. Before that, back when the legends of ghosts and monsters had nothing to do with Hollywood cinema, it was a semi-independent protectorate of the Hungarian Empire. Even today, much of the population there consists of ethnic Hungarians, and the Romanis tend to hold some resentment towards them.
That said, both vampires and werewolves originate from classical Greek legends, which postulate that vampires are in fact the resurrected corpses of dead werewolves.
@@DistractedGlobeGuy So says wikipedia! Therefore, accurate! Harrumph! 🧐
@@DistractedGlobeGuy
1. That “Not Until WW1” comment still proves Daphne’s point.
2. Vampires and Werewolves originating Greek Mythology. No wonder Hercules fought against werewolves in “The Legendary Journeys”, and Dracula has Medusa as his servant in Castlevania.
Glad to see Tuesday's videos coming back. They're always enjoyable to see!
It's a excellent episode. 😀👍🐶
I remember there was a scooby doo pc game where the setting was also a castle turned tourist atraction that was moved from europe to usa brick by brick, the coolest thing about it was that the Villain would change every playtrought.
I heard about those things. What is the Mystery called?
@@robbiewalker2831 if by mystery you mean game, is Phantom of the Knight
This was always my favorite episode from the original series!
HAPPY SCOOBY DOOSDAY!
2:20: To be fair, the first season was having Velma try to be optimistic on the concept of the supernatural, since the Mystery Gang are a group of Paranormal Investigators. It wouldn’t be until “Haunted House Hang Up”, where Velma truly starts to be skeptical on the idea that paranormal activity ever existed. A bit of a discontinuity thing, but at least it’s better explained than how the DTV movies kept turning down the notion that monsters like that ever existed (ESPECIALLY in “The 13th Ghost of Scooby-Doo”, which was suppose to resolve that long-forgotten storyline of actual ghosts invading Scooby’s world).
Its funny that Shaggy was skeptical of werewolves and than later in one of the movies hes turned into one.
The round-about origin story of 'Buffy vs. Dracula'.
Fabulous break-down & analysis! Aside from the Die-In Theaters, *this* is why I come here! And noyyyyyyyce deep-cut SNL Al Franken joke! 👏 👏 👏
I always considered werewolves a french thing, my mind automatically goes to The Beast of Gevaudan.
Transylvania is located in central Romania so...a horse a piece.
So glad to have this series back, it's just the thing for a cold, snowy night.
I never realised the monsters were just one person here. Very confusing episode
I knew I recognize June’s voice from the Boo Brother’s intro!
The return of the Scooby-Doo Review!!
An uncredited June Foray.
great video, side note: werewolves are actually common all over the world. in africa, there are legends of werelions and in india weretigers; if you and I lived 1000 years ago and I was bitten by a wolf with rabies and I began a few weeks later to growl and and try to bite people, you might think I was becoming a wolf...and there are genetic flaws that could cause hair to grow on a persons face all over. In mexico there are isolated peoples that grow hair like this.
No wonder Heathcliff and Dingbat had similar animation... and similar voice actors.
Best Scooby Doo review yet. Really enjoyed the awesome sentiment in the beginning. Very nice job, Cyd 👍
Aw yess big thumps up bro bro👍
I feel none of the creative team would count this as inspiration and say it's just simple kids storytelling but I always felt like killers like the Zodiac or Manson had an influence on the Scooby villains; it's never enough to just commit crimes for their own gain, it's about scaring the public to distract from the normalcy of those crimes.
this is actually my favorite Scooby Doo episode and i’m glad you did it.
Maybe it’s because of the influence of An American Werewolf in London, I always associate Werewolves with England.
Most Scooby Doo villains only use one disguise to scare people off. Big Bob Oakley used 4.
Bob is a Method Actor, I don’t blame him for doing quick-changes like that.
Great vid doc!
The wear wolf and Frankenstein monster are definitely real
Just commenting to say I'm really happy to see this series return :)
Ah yes, A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts, also known as Scooby Doo in Castlevania.
Let's be really, Velma without her glasses is a metaphor for her getting high. She's in a haunted area not a fun park, why would there be a play room in such a place?
2 of my fave doggs right here yo lol😄 ;)
Finally!! This is my favorite show on the channel
Honestly I’m surprised that they lived for as long as they did
This is the 1st episode you reviewed that I actually don't remember...
In some episodes shaggy has been smart and in some episodes really dumb 🤔
I personally really liked this episode!!!
My favorite episode hands down
Weirdly if they in Adams family house Velma would be right since in the cartoon version of the Adams family Gomez like to play on the torture rack .
Funny you mention the Addams Family, they had a crossover episode in “The New Scooby-Doo Movies”.
You Must Be The Big Bad Wolf
Shaggy had us all convinced you could throw your voice. (That's not real.)
I always love some Scooby-Doo
Oh yes
I Was wondering what happend to the Werewolf and Frankenstein
Thanks for coming back!
We need more scooby doo Dr wolfula 👍😺🧟🎃
Yeah werewolves aren’t from Transylvania anyone who listens to the band Powerwolf will tell you they are from Armenia
I disagree about Shaggy's telling off of Scooby being out of character. Shaggy has been quite flanderised over the decades, so people forget that he was a bit more grounded and even sensible at times in the original show. I miss that aspect of Shaggy. Nowadays he's usually just swapping between two states - silly and scared.
Probably feel the same way about Velma being skeptical about the supernatural, despite being part of a group of paranormal investigators; that’s right, Mystery Inc. is a Paranormal Investigation Team.
Hey cyd doc and ghoulash hey guys in honor of Ken and Joe you guys should review the Scooby Doo project it’s a parody of Blair witch Project and let me tell you there’s a lot of roasting and maybe some funny bits in there
Yes finally!!!
So you answered my question from the last video thinks ...it is still distracting however. 😀
I always thought Werewolves were German... I don't know why...
Probably because both Romania and Germany are part of Europe.
The first instance of Sassy Velma.
IM BILLY
7th!
Nice.
ilove this episode
What's with the "jeepies" at the beginning of every episode? It's not from the show as far as I can remember. Jeepers sure...but jeepies?
Maybe Jeepies is a hybrid of “Jeepers” and “Jinkies”.
Ik no one cares but happy birthday Ken Spears
❕
How was you Christmas with your wolf pack family love you Chanel btw
