I’m 27 weeks pregnant with my second and have not a single friend or family member to talk to about these thing or just life in general. So I wanted to tell you thank you, not only is your information valuable but you are so caring.
I love the way you talk about things! That might sound weird but whenever you talk about sensitive topics I love how you approach it and the language you use. Usually people are like “ugh I guess I have to say this disclaimer so people don’t get offended” but it’s so clear that you genuinely care about other people and how what you say affects them. It’s much appreciated 💛 I’m not pregnant and not even close to it so this specific video doesn’t relate to me but I’ve had a lot of issues with eating. I lost 15 pounds in a month in college from basically forgetting to eat and whenever I came home people would always say “oh my god you look so good! You must be doing great!” And I would always kinda be like “haha no I’m just not eating” as like a cry for help I guess but no one caught on and they just said “well whatever it is it’s working! You look amazing”. I wish more people were educated on how “compliments” like that can be harmful
I can so relate to this!!! I lost like 30 lbs in my freshman year of university because I came down with a chronic GI disease and I couldn’t keep down or absorb nutrition. When I came home, people who didn’t know I was sick (and even some who did) would compliment my weight loss and it made me really uncomfortable. I felt comfortable with my “old” weight but people gushing over my new weight made me self conscious about what I used to look like. I would tell people that it was because I was sick and many would say “I wish I could borrow your illness for a couple months so I could lose weight like you” 😳. People need to stop commenting on people’s bodies!!
Kathleen Elizabeth oh my god that’s insane that people would say that. People definitely need to stop! I went to the doctor a few days ago for a routine medication check that I have every three months and I’ve lost a decent amount of weight unhealthily bc of COVID, personal stuff, etc. messing with my mental health. And when the nurse was entering my weight into the computer she said “oh you’ve lost some weight since you’ve been here in June.... wow it’s a lot actually.... Congrats! Good job!!” I was so flabbergasted that someone in the medical profession would say that without asking anything else?? I don’t know how much I’ve lost bc I don’t weigh myself but I’ve been told that I physically look different so it has to be a good amount and probably not normal for a three month loss. It’s just so shocking sometimes what people will say

Mike Legacy that’s not true. I will give it to you that sometimes she can be a little overbearing with her suggestions, but it’s only so we can know as much info as possible. Or are you talking about Freelee? Sorry, I wasn’t sure. I definitely would love to have a conversation, I want to follow and look up to the right people.
@@MDaDonLegacy Criticism and fact checking is not "attacking." The diet reviews are informative for the person watching the video, not to tell the dieter how to change. This is not a hard concept to grasp. Grow up.
I love the way that when you talk about body image, you don’t shy away from the societal biases around body size that affect us all. It’s really refreshing to hear about actively trying to work against fatphobia rather than just the dismissive “I love my body all the time no matter what” approach. Obviously it’s great if you do love yourself but it’s very real that we may feel bad if we gain weight since that’s the cultural message we’re always fed and since thin privilege is so pervasive.
Hi. Like you I was "small" with my first baby. 9kg. My second and third....well......I was an elephant! I gained 14 and 15 kg respectively. My doctor lectured me non-stop about gaining too much weight, but I was not over-eating, and it was all very very upsetting! But I had milk for ten babies! And I gave birth to three beautiful and healthy babies. Society is insane! Our bodies have a natural intelligence and ultimately will do what is best.
Please do a "what I Eat in a day for breastfeeding/pumping" (if this is still possible and practical for you of course). I am due on 14th Sept with my fourth and plan to breastfeed so would love to see how you eat 😊.
I really liked that you talked about a woman changing body while pregnant. Is not easy and it can be isolating feeling. Women are amazing, growing babies, giving birth and breastfeeding. Being a woman is a super power.
I thought it was so cool how you said that labor was exhilarating and an amazing experience. I've never heard that before, and made me tear up with how beautiful that statement was and also how badly I want to be a mom. Thank you for sharing, and congrats on your new babe
Hearing the response from the lactation consultant about the formula made me want to cry (currently pregnant with #2, so pregnancy hormones are probably to blame lol). But I just remember how exhausted and defeated I felt those first few weeks with my first trying to figure out breastfeeding and I would have been devastated if someone had responded to me like that. :( Thanks for the video! I can relate to a lot of it - currently 32 weeks! Congrats on the new baby.
I did not gain enough weight when pregnant 2 yrs ago and lost even more when breastfeeding, making me really insecure during pregnancy and have to try so hard to produce adequate milk supply. Then when finally wane 14 months later, i have to gain back weight to get back my ovulation and period. So don’t comment on pregnant women’s weight, high or low, as we all work hard on this!
I know this was three years ago, but I’ve just been binge watching your channel. I so appreciate the section where you discuss pregnancy weight gain. I’m currently pregnant with our second, due in September. With both of my pregnancies I’ve gained the weight of the baby, placenta, etc. but my body itself has lost weight. Like a significant amount. It has been an area of concern in both pregnancies. It’s difficult because I eat intuitively even when pregnant, and I still feel like I’m doing something wrong. People don’t understand that even the comments of “you’re so small” “I’m so jealous” and so on, don’t feel good. I know they come from a good place, but they only perpetuate my insecurity and worry around my weight when pregnant. I additionally hate when other women look to me as an example of what they wish or hope their pregnancies were/will be like. I’m not the norm. I don’t have a secret on how to avoid weight gain to share. Everyone is unique, and everyone’s pregnancy journey is beautiful however it unfolds.
I’m a cis man and I’m gay. So, unfortunately I won’t be able to experience being pregnant, or living with a pregnant spouse. However, I watched every minute of this and loved it! I could listen to you talk about almost anything. Congrats on your little one! Praying for you all! ❤️🌈
I'm not sure if you've already done something like this already, but I think a "what my kids eat in a day" or "what my family eats in a day" would be an interesting video coming from an intuitive eating dietitian. I understand you're media rules when it comes to your family though so I understand if this wouldn't be a good idea for you.
Ideas for easier content: 1) Ideas for on the go healthy snack ideas. I always have protein bars, but not sure how healthy they really are! 2) Ideas for quick dinners. Crockpot and one-pot dinners in particular. 3) Dietary ideas for getting iron up and the fact that the research suggests women actually need to have ferrtin around 100, otherwise they are suffering from RIDS (the iron clinic has lots on this). My iron has really come up since I started eating red meat a few times a week and stopped having my post-meal tea after meals containing red meat.
Thank you for posting this! I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant as a first time pregnancy and I love seeing other mom's advice/what they think of pregnancy. I personally have only gained two pounds and people saying I don't look like I'm 18 weeks makes me feel like I'm not doing enough but I physically go through waves of feeling hungry somedays and other days I just want a salad. Your videos have helped me keep my nutrition in mind throughout my pregnancy so far. I'm just listening to my hunger cues and if baby girl needs more my body will let me know ❤️
It’s really nice to hear your pregnancy experience right now because I’m also pregnant at the same time with my first baby. 🥰 It’s actually quite comforting. Congratulations to you and your family! Edit: got a bit teary when you gave your reasons to not be scared because I am, but I’m also am very excited. 🤰🏻❤️
I literally just finished my workout with Sydney Cumming right before watching this video!! She's the best! On a different note, I'm currently working to becoming pregnant and this (and all of your other related videos) have been very helpful in my journey. It's nice to hear other people's stories and learn at the same time. Congrats on the baby! 🐣
Abbey, thank you for sharing your thoughts about weight gain in pregnancy - I worried my entire pregnancy that I wasn't gaining enough (with hyperemesis gravidarum), that I was gaining too much at once (when my mum said I looked huge), that I was too swollen and that it wasn't good for baby (when my feet had +4 pitting edema). Your candid honesty is refreshing and I wish that I had heard this when I was pregnant. And for the record you are one of the most beautiful pregnant ladies I've ever seen! I hope that you are recovering from the birth and enjoying this time with your children and husband!
Omg I love Sydney Cummings!! I do her workouts every day🙌🏻 I would loveee to hear about the Division of Responsibility! Thank you, thank you for inspiring me to overcome orthorexia🤍🙏🏼
For prenatal workouts bodyfit by amy workouts are so awesome. Theres a huge variety from strength to cardio. Also love the weight free strength training from blogilates like arm workouts amd thigh workouts that are appropriate Bodyfit by Amy has postnatal workouts as well
Wow! What a great video. I was thinking about making a video like this on my channel. My wife is 7 months pregnant and I wanted to document her experiences when it comes to food and exercise. Great video! Thanks 👍🏻
As to content once you have both your babes, I would love to see ideas for balanced snacks that are easy and fast to make. Newborn care is so time consuming that it’s great to have a few ideas already planned for how to feed your body when you have all the hunger and none of the time.
The division of responsibility sounds interesting! As an SLP who has worked with kids who have feeding difficulties I'd be interested to learn about it in the context of kids with sensory insured such as autism!
I’m a mother of a child with autism and a special education teacher. Picky eating issues for kids with autism (often due to sensory issues) will bring you to your knees. I had to choose my battles and food was not it...and my daughter was hell bent on making this a battle. My 4 neurotypical kids are good eaters. What can you do? 🤷🏻♀️
The hand on the shoulder thing! Wow, my mama had me do that. It was great. I understood at an early age the importance of conversation and, at the same time, felt heard and respected by parent. I didn't know that was a Montessori thing.
Definitely want to hear more about Division of Responsibility for kiddos. I'm far beyond raising children but I'm a doula and would love resources to give my moms.
I know your channel is about nutrition, rather than pregnancy/childbirth/newborn life, etc., but I so here for your super pregnancy/parenting realness!
I really really appreciated your input on how to juggle motherhood and your career. I struggle with this. Its hard to give 100% to both alongside other goals like fitness. I often feel like I'm not living up to my standards in any aspect of my life even though I wake up at 3am and usually sleep around 10pm and am so busy, multitasking at any given moment of my day. 🙃 You make it look so easy. Us moms have alot of pressure.
Thank you for sharing and being so open! What do you think contributed to you not tearing? Anything you did to prepare or just the timing and method of your pushing?
Love your philosophy on body positivity. Your videos have helped me work toward more intuitive eating. I would be interested in a video on things you find helpful raising a baby along with a toddler (once you get settled in of course).
First of all congratulations on your lil one! I was wondering how you feel about asking the Dr's office not to weigh you during pregnancy or for any type of appointment? Getting weighed for Dr's appointments puts me in a bad headspace and makes me dread going. Is it necessary or is it just my own personal issue I need to get over?
It is necessary for your PCP to weight you because that’s part of your yearly physical but you can just tell them to not let you know. It’s just another facet about you, like your shoe size or how much water you’re retaining .
Love your videos as a fellow RD! What about highlighting some RD colleagues from various countries to get a sense of practice areas, legal scope, etc? Perhaps they could even do the recording of themselves to ease your burden right now
I really, really enjoyed this! I would love more of these chatty style videos and also book reviews - they don't need to be new books or anything, maybe books you've studied in the past or ever refer back to from time to time..?
I would be super curious about a video on toddler/early childhood development while vegan. I saw a couple of your "what someone else's kid ate in a day while vegan" videos that had a lot of critiques and I would love to see what you think balanced vegan child food looks like. What kind of plant milks are best once breast feeding stops, protein levels needed, that sort of thing.
Can you talk about the food sensitivities testing that is being done via bloodwork at doctor’s offices? Is this a valid way of identifying which foods to avoid?
Thank you for sharing Abbey, I love your perspective so much. I’m going to be a first time mom in my early 30s, I’m 16 weeks pregnant.I had an eating disorder for over 20 years. I gained 100lbs a few years ago from a medical problem, and lost it for the first time in a healthy way. I gained again before getting pregnant, so I’m considered overweight. My OBGYN keeps telling me to gain 10-20lbs tops for my entire pregnancy. It puts so much pressure on me because I can’t predict what my body will do. I can only do my best. I dread each appointment because I don’t have a scale at home anymore. Just wanted to share here In case anyone can relate because I don’t have anyone to really share this with! I just want a health baby ♥️
A day in the life vlog would be nice. To keep it "on brand" it could be a vlog during mealtimes for you, for E, for newborn baby. Or maybe a video on your opinion on the meal subscriptions i.e. Hello Fresh. While you're too busy for the grocery store, are these a good options?
I'm currently 26 weeks pregnant and I still get people (especially when I'm in my scrubs) ask me why I look "swollen" and tell me that I look like I gained weight. I even had an ex-coworker ask me why my face was so fat. I have tried hard to be nice to these people and explain that I'm pregnant, yet they fat shame me about being so big. Granted, I am currently overweight according to BMI, but being anorexic previously, my mindset has been "at least I'm eating." I have only gained around 5lbs so far, and this is my first pregnancy. I have really bad anxiety with the numbers on the scale, and even though I'm growing a human inside of me, I'm still very self conscious about my weight and appearance. It makes me so happy that you are talking about this and calling people like this out. Especially when you're growing a little person inside of you, you shouldn't be worried about that stuff. You should be worried about your health and well being, not about your size and weight. This is making me feel much better ❤ I also want to add that my Dr. of all people hasn't once mentioned my weight yet throughout my pregnancy, she is a saint of a woman.
Yes yes yes I would love a video on division of responsibility! Specifically for me, I would love to hear about approaching food with tweens and teenagers (I'm 16 and my sister is 12), who did not grow up learning to eat intuitively. She and I are kind of opposites lol: I'm too obsessed with eating "healthily" while she is always sneaking chocolates and candy and hates all vegetables. And btw, I love your videos so much, Abbey they have helped me immensely!!
I don't know what is it that you do but everytime I feel like I'm going to fall again on restricting and self hate I seek for your channel and your views on nutrition and self love. They put me back on track on recovery and that's so amazing. Know that you help a lot and the way you have chosen to be as dietitian and obviously as a person is BEAUTIFUL and so unique. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Also! I'd love to see you review Diana Malloy's what I eat in a day 🤗
Sorry about dealing with trolls :( I just want you know your PCOS videos have helped me so much. I'm so glad I came across your channel and congrats to you and your newest bundle of joy!
I am new and have a question...I am “obese” so for health reasons need to lose weight? How do you do that if you do not restrict yourself? I do not have an good food relationship, FYI so I’m trying to navigate and train my thinking. Thank you!
I struggled so much with food after giving birth - I couldn't accept meals from people because i have celiac disease. Obviously its so important for my food to be completely gluten free and that's a challenge for people to do for me (they don't know how to read labels and also don't have safe kitchens). I also don't have many options for ordering in safe food. It sucked! I also was in the hospital for 4 days after birth as my son was in the NICU and the hospital didn't have many safe options for me (and my husband couldn't leave the hospital because of covid). I lived off cartons of milk and juice and packaged things like yogurt, pudding, cottage cheese. Love your vids! I would be interested in the division of responsibility video. I also had to give my son formula because he wouldn't latch for weeks after birth (I ended up being able to breastfeed and still am 7 months in with the help of my midwife) - i definitely had the shame and guilt from the formula feeding (and I shouldn't).
In my first pregnancy I gained about 18kg but it was mostly waterweight and I was at my "startweight" within 6 weeks after birth (unintentionally just through breastfeeding). My doctors however scared the shit out of me before birth, they said the baby would be too big, I would break its shoulders during labour ...none of that was true.
Thank you so much for this video! 💓 I’m 35 weeks expecting my first and found this so helpful x A video on nutrition for breast feeding, supplements to take during breast feeding, and if there’s any evidence base for certain foods increasing milk supply would be great and so helpful! Also maybe nutrition during pregnancy? Eg nutrition for gestational diabetes Xx
with this channel, I learned not to make comments about anyone's body. I didn't realize that even a positive comment can be a trigger for someone. (not like, I used to comment, but just to be aware) Even "good" comments can be perceived the wrong way.
I know you've done a video on Intuitive Eating with medical conditions. I'm wondering if you could also address practicing IE while taking medications that suppress hunger? I'm on stimulants for ADHD and I literally have to physically force myself to eat. I'm slowly learning to listen to my body's other cues (I can feel when my blood sugar is low, or when I need some omega-3s), but it's really difficult when I have my stomach constantly screaming at me that I'm full.
I'd love to hear more about your experience with a midwife! I'm a midwifery student and I get really frustrated by some of the ideas that float around about midwives being essentially doulas and OBGYNs being the safest or best option.
I have now had births with both and much preferred the midwife. I agree there’s a misconception that it’s less scientific (even my hubby is baffled by the more old school wats of doing things like feeling for babies position vs US, and the spring scale vs digital), but I felt more empowered by the midwife experience vs was just told what to do by the OB.
I hope this question isn't too invasive, but did you end up getting that epidural? I saw that you only labored for four hours, and that you had a retained placenta again. On one hand, I hope you got to experience the full thing if that's what you wanted, but I also hope you didn't have to feel the removal!
Hi, Abbey! Stumbled upon your channel some weeks ago and just had to say that I love it! I have come to really like you, and you're videos are so educational. Also seems like you're great at engaging with your fans: thumbs up! I have a request for a video if that's possible to make: A video on following a ketogenic diet for distance runners (?) Does it work? I'm an avid runner and sometimes wonder if I should try the diet to see if I could get away with not fueling with gels/other carbs during long runs. Not really a fan of this. It's a specific video so I appreciate that it doesn't work. Also read that you're a mom again! Best of luck, and your fans aren't going anywhere if you're gone for a bit (!!) Take care of yourself, love from a new fan
Maybe a simpler video (although now I think about it it may not be simpler so much as less prep-dependent) could be talking us through some basic recommendations that you might make for the general population for improving their diets/adding more gentle nutrition. I love the WIEIAD vids but many of those are pretty extreme in terms of volume or restriction, so while I find them fun and super informative, my diet is much more typical in that I don’t get enough fruits and vegetables, I get probably much too much salt, and I don’t feel confident enough cooking to jump into some of the more complex recipes I see online, etc. Also I have been a picky eater most of my life and am in the midst of a food journey to try and branch out more, but that makes trying new recipes even harder. Maybe it wouldn’t be as easy as I’m envisioning and maybe I’m missing a video somewhere that you did on this! But I think it could be helpful for me, and maybe easier to just do some off-the-cuff sort of content based on your experiences as a dietitian (and probably some light research, admittedly). Congratulations!!
I literally started to cry when you said that you want new moms to not be afraid of labor. I'm 18 weeks, and the thought of labor is so overwhelming, I just try not to think about it 😅
check out Bridget Teylers channel here on youtube. She is a childbirth educator and she has a lot of affirmations and videos about removing fear and normalising birth. They're nice shorter ones too. Best of luck- having a little babe is the biggest adventure! 💕
Abbey! You need to watch Linda Sun. She is a breath of fresh air, she eats so intuitively you’ll love it and the food she chooses.... I drool watching it! Review please 🙏🏼 Hope baby land is going well! X
Some breastfeeding what i eat in a days would be great! Also for people who aren‘t moms but just haven‘t got that much time for food prep etc. The Devision of Responsibility sounds great too! MadFit and Mady Morrison has got great workouts as well! Loved to see this lil insight!
Haha! my doctor was concerned. I gained the most my 3rd pregnancy. My first one I gained 1pound (post partum weight)Thee second one I lost 10 lbs but I was over weight when I got pregnant. The third one I was initially getting fit. My body fat % had finally dropped to about 30% which was a big deal for me. ...But I craved nothing but bagels and crackers. It was the only things I would not feel like throwing up. I gained 11 lbs post partum. I'm currently breast feeding but staying active. I've gone down about 5 lbs but my waistline hasn't shifted much and I don't expect it to do much until the breastfeeding phase is over. Most women actually gain weight or find it hard to lose while breastfeeding so I'm letting her( my body) do her thing while I supply her with good food and stay active :)
My boys, who are now young adults, are less than 2 years apart in age. I got my oldest involved as much as possible being my helper with baby brother and jealousy never became an issue:) We prepared as much as possible, then you just have to let go and let God:)😂
After two pregnancies, I felt like I could write a book about the unwanted, inappropriate body comments. Glad you touched on that. I hope you take the time you need for you & baby. totally know the feeling of keeping a schedule too. Congrats! 🧡🧡
Think it might be good to have some back to basics nutrition info ...’portion sizes / proportions’ meals and maybe some of your own WIEIAD for some Healthy easy meal ideas .. xx congrats to you all on the safe arrival of Baby O xx
Thanks for sharing all of this. I just want tell you that you have been very crucial to me and my journey of developing healthy food habits. Thank thank you! Ignore the trolls!!
I put on so much weight this time around and had gestational diabetes. Around 23 kg all up. My doctor was horrified because my BMI was already on the high side and continually told me to reign it in. I also didn't have a huge amount of obvious fluid, ankles, fingers etc were still slim. And then two weeks after my 3.7kg baby was born I was back to pretty close to pre-pregnancy. They are now warning me that I'm on the way to type 2, so as I work on my mental health and intuitive eating journey I am also aware of this risk in the back of my mind.
Oh nooooo summer pregnancies do suck lol!! I was in Texas summer, delivered in September. I’m pregnant now with TWINS and they’re due in January and that was one of the first thoughts I had: thank god I’ll be my biggest in the “winter” months whew!!
Abbey love this more personal videos, but you are scaring me sooooo much... I'm starting IVF very shortly and l am 42 ( 😲) very interested in shared responsibility
I went from a primarily low carb paleo diet (which i used to love) to being repulsed by everything I used to eat. Also, food was my only relief from nausea so I quickly gained weight in my first trimester. There was also about 2 weeks where I couldn’t workout because I felt so sick. It definitely surprised me because I went from being very active and eating very healthy to a sedentary person with the palate of a toddler 😭 I’m hoping my second trimester gets better and hopefully I can stomach some healthier foods soon.
Great video. You mentioned that you'd love some video ideas so I thought I'd give you my opinions. I actually prefere informativ videos over WIEIAD reviews. I'd love a video about snacks with the scienes on what to eat and some ideas that will keep me full for LONG. I'd also love some more Intuitive Eating content. I've stuggeld with an Eating Disorder and I'm not completly back mentally yet so that is really helpfull for me. I try to trust my body but after eating x pieces of toast and still feeling super hungry I don't allow myself more food. I'd also like to see you doing WIEIAD instead of just reviewing them. Thank you for amazing content
Thank you for sharing all this educational information! Have you reviewed Kiki Plantiful(follows start haha diet by Dr. McDougall)- I was wondering what you thought? Thank you and all the best to you, your team and family!
Abbey Sharp Abbey Sharp great, I am a new fan of yours since commenting, I’ve learned your views on the starch diet(oil free for maximum weight loss Dr.McDougall). Another seemly great dietician I believe is Lyndi Cohen- but I will seek my own personal dietician locally for help with myself, thank you so much for the information you share!
I struggle with the "Fed is best" phrase replacing "breast is best" in the same way I struggle with the "all live matter" phrase replacing "black lives matter". The whole purpose of the saying comes out of a time when women were really ignorant about the positive aspects of breastfeeding and were being told outright lies about formula benefits. The point of "breast is best" wasn't to shame women who wanted to breastfeed and couldn't; it's to start a new way of looking at breastfeeding: as something which is natural and healthy for mama and baby. It IS better than formula as it is perfectly designed to feed babies and keep mama healthy. That absolutely doesn't mean that women who end up giving formula to their babies should feel any shame, but the whole "fed is best" undermines a lot of work that the medical world had been trying to do in helping women to understand the benefits of breastfeeding. I really feel the pain of the tongue tie as I've had it with all my babies, and my first didn't have hers fixed for over a month postpartum (it was posterior, so that made it a little more complicated). Breastfeeding with a tongue tie is excruciating, and I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Support for breastfeeding mamas is so important, and I'm really thankful I had a lactation consultant who was extremely experienced with tongue tied babies and could help me keep up my supply.
Even if you have gained more this pregnancy than your last, I didn’t know you during your last pregnancy so idk what you look liked but just looking at you during this pregnancy, I think you look so amazing!! You’re beautiful and look so healthy and glowing♥️♥️ praying for the best for you and your new little one😊
I would love to hear more about the Division of Responsibility for children!
On the list!
Yes please!
Me too! My baby is almost 6 months and i would like to try this..
Ooohh good question I would want to know to! 😊
same!
I’m 27 weeks pregnant with my second and have not a single friend or family member to talk to about these thing or just life in general. So I wanted to tell you thank you, not only is your information valuable but you are so caring.
Thank you for sharing, I'm so glad it is helpful
I love the way you talk about things! That might sound weird but whenever you talk about sensitive topics I love how you approach it and the language you use. Usually people are like “ugh I guess I have to say this disclaimer so people don’t get offended” but it’s so clear that you genuinely care about other people and how what you say affects them. It’s much appreciated 💛
I’m not pregnant and not even close to it so this specific video doesn’t relate to me but I’ve had a lot of issues with eating.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad it is helpful!
Agree!!

@@MDaDonLegacy calling out misinformation especially with the unchecked power of influencers upon their audience makes someone a "fake"?!?
100%!!!
Amen! 🙏🏻😂
Thank you for sharing your experience. Agreed!
A fun video idea would be a "how to become a dietician" with the highschool courses, and good university programs that get you on the right path.
I have a video about this on my channel: ruclips.net/video/smw_stu9yZc/видео.html
Please do a "what I Eat in a day for breastfeeding/pumping" (if this is still possible and practical for you of course). I am due on 14th Sept with my fourth and plan to breastfeed so would love to see how you eat 😊.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for the video! I can relate to a lot of it - currently 32 weeks! Congrats on the new baby.
Thank you! So glad it was helpful
For sure!
Thank you! ❤️
i absolutely LOVE these casual seated conversation like this and would happily welcome more!!
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm not sure if you've already done something like this already, but I think a "what my kids eat in a day" or "what my family eats in a day" would be an interesting video coming from an intuitive eating dietitian. I understand you're media rules when it comes to your family though so I understand if this wouldn't be a good idea for you.
Thank you for the suggestion
Ideas for easier content:
1) Ideas for on the go healthy snack ideas.
My iron has really come up since I started eating red meat a few times a week and stopped having my post-meal tea after meals containing red meat.

yes yes I LOVE THAT YOU ARE CONTINUING THESE Q&A type of videos!
So glad!
Me too! Love this style.

I'm just listening to my hunger cues and if baby girl needs more my body will let me know ❤️
I'm so glad they are helpful!
So glad it is helpful. Thank you!
My mom is also a Montessori teacher and I clearly remember putting my hand on her shoulder to get her attention when I needed something!
Right!
I do this with my nanny kiddos. It really helps the 3yrold feel secure.
I'm so glad that was helpful. And thank you! ❤️
Omg I love Sydney Cummings!! I do her workouts every day🙌🏻 I would loveee to hear about the Division of Responsibility! Thank you, thank you for inspiring me to overcome orthorexia🤍🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing ❤️
For prenatal workouts bodyfit by amy workouts are so awesome. Theres a huge variety from strength to cardio. Also love the weight free strength training from blogilates like arm workouts amd thigh workouts that are appropriate
Bodyfit by Amy has postnatal workouts as well
Wow! What a great video. I was thinking about making a video like this on my channel. My wife is 7 months pregnant and I wanted to document her experiences when it comes to food and exercise. Great video! Thanks 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
As to content once you have both your babes, I would love to see ideas for balanced snacks that are easy and fast to make. Newborn care is so time consuming that it’s great to have a few ideas already planned for how to feed your body when you have all the hunger and none of the time.
would love a full video on feeding kids!!
Thanks for the suggestion
I enjoyed this video 👍 can't wait for content on division of responsibility theory. Congratulations on the new addition to your family!
Thank you!
The division of responsibility sounds interesting! As an SLP who has worked with kids who have feeding difficulties I'd be interested to learn about it in the context of kids with sensory insured such as autism!
On the list!
Thanks for sharing your experience
The hand on the shoulder thing! Wow, my mama had me do that. It was great. I understood at an early age the importance of conversation and, at the same time, felt heard and respected by parent. I didn't know that was a Montessori thing.
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoy that!
I've never been this early before omg! It's good to see you back☺️
Thank you ❤️
I really really appreciated your input on how to juggle motherhood and your career.
For sure
Thank you for sharing and being so open! What do you think contributed to you not tearing? Anything you did to prepare or just the timing and method of your pushing?
Love your philosophy on body positivity. Your videos have helped me work toward more intuitive eating. I would be interested in a video on things you find helpful raising a baby along with a toddler (once you get settled in of course).
Thanks for the suggestion
First of all congratulations on your lil one! I was wondering how you feel about asking the Dr's office not to weigh you during pregnancy or for any type of appointment? Getting weighed for Dr's appointments puts me in a bad headspace and makes me dread going. Is it necessary or is it just my own personal issue I need to get over?
It is necessary for your PCP to weight you because that’s part of your yearly physical but you can just tell them to not let you know. It’s just another facet about you, like your shoe size or how much water you’re retaining .
You can do a blind weight or ask if they’re comfortable with other ways if tracking growth (fundal measurements, more frequent ultrasounds)
Thanks for the suggestion!
Great questions!!
Thank you for the suggestions!
This is making me feel much better ❤
I also want to add that my Dr. of all people hasn't once mentioned my weight yet throughout my pregnancy, she is a saint of a woman.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad it was helpful!
On the list! And I'm so glad

I am new and have a question...I am “obese” so for health reasons need to lose weight? How do you do that if you do not restrict yourself? I do not have an good food relationship, FYI so I’m trying to navigate and train my thinking. Thank you!
Congratulations on your second baby, Abbey! Could you please do a video on Division of Responsibility?
Thanks! On the list
I would love to hear more about The Division of Responsibility
I'd be really interested in a video on the devision of responsibility!

@@AbbeysKitchen Great, thank you☺
In my first pregnancy I gained about 18kg but it was mostly waterweight and I was at my "startweight" within 6 weeks after birth (unintentionally just through breastfeeding).
My doctors however scared the shit out of me before birth, they said the baby would be too big, I would break its shoulders during labour ...none of that was true.
First time seeing your channel a d I loved your video! I am also expecting and I felt like I was listening to myself. Thank youuu
Congratulations on your beautiful bub!! ❤️ Just curious as to your choice of exclusive pumping?
Thank you so much for this video! 💓 I’m 35 weeks expecting my first and found this so helpful x
A video on nutrition for breast feeding, supplements to take during breast feeding, and if there’s any evidence base for certain foods increasing milk supply would be great and so helpful! Also maybe nutrition during pregnancy? Eg nutrition for gestational diabetes
Xx

with this channel, I learned not to make comments about anyone's body. I didn't realize that even a positive comment can be a trigger for someone. (not like, I used to comment, but just to be aware) Even "good" comments can be perceived the wrong way.
So glad that was helpful
I know you've done a video on Intuitive Eating with medical conditions. I'm wondering if you could also address practicing IE while taking medications that suppress hunger? I'm on stimulants for ADHD and I literally have to physically force myself to eat. I'm slowly learning to listen to my body's other cues (I can feel when my blood sugar is low, or when I need some omega-3s), but it's really difficult when I have my stomach constantly screaming at me that I'm full.
Thanks for the suggestion
Hi Abbey! Love this video! Please, please, please do a more in-depth video on the division of responsibilities. 🙏

Thanks for the suggestion. And thank you!
Thank you for the suggestion!

Haha! my doctor was concerned.
Thank you for sharing your experience

Thanks for sharing all of this. I just want tell you that you have been very crucial to me and my journey of developing healthy food habits. Thank thank you! Ignore the trolls!!
I'm so glad, thank you!
Thank you for sharing your experience
Oh nooooo summer pregnancies do suck lol!! I was in Texas summer, delivered in September. I’m pregnant now with TWINS and they’re due in January and that was one of the first thoughts I had: thank god I’ll be my biggest in the “winter” months whew!!

Abbey love this more personal videos, but you are scaring me sooooo much... I'm starting IVF very shortly and l am 42 ( 😲) very interested in shared responsibility
Don’t be scared!!! You got this mama. Lots of baby dust xoxo
Very very normal and chances are you’ll be back to feeling great very soon!!
Thanks for the feedback!
Love love love this. My husband and I have decided to become parents in a year or two so this is so encouraging.

🎵ABBEY SHARK DO-DO DO-DO-DO-DO🎵 🤣
I struggle with the "Fed is best" phrase replacing "breast is best" in the same way I struggle with the "all live matter" phrase replacing "black lives matter".
Thank you for sharing your experience
Good luck to you & new baby!!
Thanks!
Thank you ❤️
