thanks for the video, you inspired me to get my own from track of the wolf. AwooooOO! :) BTW, i have already destroyed 3 handles trying to drill a hole all the way through to make it a real smokable pipe. Lol. i have no idea how im gonna pull this off lol
Definitely not an easy task. I like throwing which isn’t a very good long term strategy for keeping handles in one piece 😂 so I don’t bother drilling them. I know there’s a book on the tips and tricks for all that kind of stuff that R.E. Davis company offers. Track might too. I’m not sure.
Thank you! It’s from Track of the Wolf. I have a link to it in the description if you wanted to see it or browse their other stuff. R.E. Davis Company also has some very nice heads at reasonable prices.
@@EccentricArtisan Does it come annealed? Also how is it made considering it has a line in the middle of it? Is that some sort of weld line or a casting burr?
@@mrkiky it’s a cast head. Apart from that I couldn’t tell you anything else for sure as they don’t detail anything about the maker or process in the description.
I did not. Actually, it’s currently waiting on a new handle to be made. I like to throw tomahawks, and the handles don’t hold up to that forever. That’s mainly why I haven’t.
Good job man looks good, I’m looking at doing the same, I’m curious to how your heat treat came out ? Also do you know if that’s the 4140 or 6150 steel
Thanks man! The heat treat came out excellent for eyeballing it. File tested it afterwards and it showed significantly increased hardness, but still sharpened well. Not totally sure, but my bet would be 4140 since the description on Track’s website says mild steel.
Nice I like the sounds of that I’ve been looking at r r David company that have the options between 4140 an 6150 I just didn’t know if track was using one of those models
@@serpentbeyondthehedge6520 I haven’t gotten one of theirs yet, but I mean to at some point. For throwing I do like the milder steel as it’s less likely to chip or break on the blade edge. And I don’t need the edge retention as much. But if it were for other tasks the 6150 is may be better.
@@EccentricArtisan Ya I’m still stuck between the two my self, I want a nice functional pipe an hawk for being out in the bush, I’m kinda leaning 4140, I like my steel to bend not break :-)
Beautiful job!
Thank you!

Just drill it from the top and make a super short pipe 😂

Beautiful work! Out of curiosity - where did you get your tomahawk head?

Wow pretty cool ! did you ever end up finishing the pipe putting a vent hole the whole way up the shaft
I did not. Actually, it’s currently waiting on a new handle to be made. I like to throw tomahawks, and the handles don’t hold up to that forever. That’s mainly why I haven’t.
Uma bela obra de arranjo
Irei reutilizar um suporte de ferramentas um aço que terá um bom reúso
Obrigado!
