I don't understand why people are getting touchy about the camera man joking with Hiroyuki about him having OCD. He is friends with Hiroyuki and has the right to joke around with him and whether Hiroyuki took offense or not is between them. I didn't detect any malice in the joke. How you gonna tell two people that probably were friends long before they started this channel, how to joke around with each other. Japanese is absolutely a different culture so I can imagine Hiroyuki would take offense if he feels that the camera man is trying to say something is wrong with him, but nevertheless they are still friends. I say they should joke around a little more, put some humor into the channel. Keep it up you two! I love your videos!
Thank you for your comment...no one here was making fun of anyone with OCD....we were just pointing out the people who need to be organized and must be this way to feel satisfaction.
Yeah, I completely agree. There are things that he does that makes me cringe like leaving the the little piece of root on the cutting board. But the joking around about OCD is not one of them. Just thinking about the piece of the root bugs me.
Hiro is not OCD. His culinary experience is built on process, harmony and everything in its place. Quite normal for a Master Chef. Awesome video. Arigato!
I have a friend who says he has CDO.....when asked "what is CDO?" his reply....."it's the same as OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order" ; ? )

The way he is gently placing the ingredients into the pit reminds me of sukiyaki. My state, Oregon, is on fire right now and I could really go for a comfort food like sukiyaki. It's good for the mind, body, and soul.
I love the chef energy. He is so gentle to his food and he treats his meals with his tender heart and care. I will learn to make salmon soup today. Thank you so much 🙏
Good morning from Texas brothers, Awesome recipe and great video, I will definitely have to try this it is cool that all of the fish didn't go to waste. Keep up the good work and look forward to the next surprise video. Have a great day Hiroyuki.
Hiro can succeed on youtube alone and not vice versa. The cameraman is quite annoying. It would be awesome if Hiro put all his efforts on his other channel Hiros Day off!
I made this last night and again today. I will never make miso again without organizing each ingredient this way. My family went nuts. Best chef on yt.
i don't even cook like this. somehow i still watch all the videos. Something about these videos where it's not really about how to make them but just satifaction of him making it.
That is why i love japanese cuisine because of its creativity of presentation, cleanliness and orderliness which adds up to the palatability of the foods.
i didnt expect this presentation. im used to eating salmon head miso soup.. but this presentation is amazing. and elevated the dish to a level i never thought of. the butter at the end is the icing on the cake. lols
If you are not a psychologist, a psychiatrist, or a medical doctor, you cannot say for sure who has OCD. I agreed with some of the comments, Master Chef Hiro pays attention to detail, and respects his foods and ingredients, and takes pride into what he is cooking.
🤣😃🤣👀👀👀 But guess what? They are really FUN to chew!! You cannot ever bite hard enough to disintegrate the eyeball😁😀😁 SUPER CHEWY!!! My sis & I had a ball when my mum made salmon head soup 🤣😂😁🤗
I lived in Japan for 5 years...i called it the land "where all things considered"...ocd is not even close to how meticulous the culture is...esp.the food...what an inspiration...and i have all 95% of the ingredients of this dish in my kitchen right now.
it’s not really OCD , if im gonna be honest . it’s just that Japanese people are very clean . i believe growing up their parents teach them to always be clean whether it’s to keep yourself clean , or your home or while you cook . just like all of us . 🤷♀️🤷♀️ but love the food n’ the cooking tho . 👏
Its culturally ingrained into their societal norms(being organized). I lived there for ten years and everything they do is super organized. Even the manner in which trash is thrown away, sorted and bagged.
@@DiariesofaMasterSushiChef there isn't an informal definition of OCD, just like there isn't an informal definition of autism. That is actively spreading misinformation.
Made this dish last night. Used a slowcooker instead because i missed making it for dinnertime. Had it today and oh my goodness, is it the best miso soup ive ever had. So umami
You made it look so easy. Thank you. When I tried I had really hard time cutting out inside the gills. You already had it cleaned. I now think that maybe I should have removed collar first and then clean out that pink gunk inside the gills.
I recently tried to process a salmon head and Hiro makes it look easy. It was my first effort and it didn't turn out well. Going to try again when I catch another.
As someone who suffers from real (luckily mild) OCD, I want to point out there is a huge difference between OCD and just being organized. OCD can be crippling and you are unable to function until something is completed to perfection.
@@DiariesofaMasterSushiChef I know you were not making fun of the condition :) And I did thoroughly enjoy today's episode.. I was just trying to point out there is more to OCD than what most people think of when they hear about it.
That's is soooo yummylicious Mizo soup and love it. That's the Japanese culture . They're Organized ,systematic and clean. I love Japan. Try to visit Japan and find out for yourself.
When you cook for someone you are giving them the best your hands have to offer. Your workspace cannot be cluttered or you might mentally bring that disorganization to the person you are serving, (it is said that bad spirits like disorganization). Cooking with your hands you give nourishment to that person, good things for the soul to wish that person happy. You can see that in Mr Hiro’s work. His teacher must of been a great person.
It totally could be a meal. On my budget...it is definitely a meal!!! He teases him on OCD, but I think it is more a tribute to the importance of presentation. Which is why his friend video records and the Chef makes it look GOOD! In some ways for a chef, I think presentation is everything!!! Also, it's just simply pleasing to the eye, and everything looks clean and like a work of art...just like his kitchen...I want to cook in that kitchen!
Agree, this is not OCD, I have seen hotpots in Japan everywhere and they all looked like this, very nice presented and arranged for the eye. Also having a clean kitchen is normal, a messy one is the issue!
We live In Camano Island so my husband caught some salmon .I usually cooked the head follow my Mom way that Vietnamese way & we call salmon soured soup ( canh chua ) ,,I saw you ate the best part of it ,,I will try soon,Thanks a lot 👍🥰🙏🏻

Relax Bruh..lol, Not that serious
He's not joking around with him, he's joking around with a disorder he knows nothing about other than its a disorder and just tidy
Japanese treats cooking as an art, not just food, everything is organised and laid out with precise procedures and aesthetic appearance is important.
I agree. Nothing to do with OCD at all !
Agree
OCD - Organised. Clean. Decorative
And there is no food more organised, beautiful and decorative than Japanese food. It's almost too artfully arranged to eat.
