Mn is always 1 buck only regaledless of which seasons you hunt. Antlerless bonus tags are available and allowed harvest depends on which zone you are hunting. But regardless, whether you hunt all seasons (archery, firearm, muzzle loader) you are allowed only 1 buck.
Guys I live in northern Mn and love bow hunting. We are a 1 buck state and then any extra does will depend when regulations come out in august. Don’t worry about bears and that is a lottery draw system. Any questions I can help with let me know . Good luck
Any recommendations for near the metro area? I just moved to Saint Paul and have very little hunting experience
@@charlesbauswell459 there’s a place called louvelle swamp which is a archery only area and I know it get hits hard but it hold a lot of deer also
Just watching this video now for the first time. Last year I went to MN and actually set up exactly on that hill country pin. It was ended up being 1.75 miles with over 600 feet of elevation climb.
That little spot near the metro. Go hunt it during the middle of November...I dare you. lol
Love the video 😂 “Ok you’re hunting Minnesota? Well try to hunt as close to Iowa as you can” 😂
True though with two completely different types of hunting in MN between North big woods and Southern Ag
Depending on your zone you can kill up to 5 deer, but only one buck. The exception being cwd zones. You can combine zones to get to your 5 deer limit, but you can't exceed the limit in that zone.
From mn spend a lot on public land on border of sd I hunt both depends where you at out here we got plains stick to cattails also only 1 buck a year some zones have extra doe tags
Most all private land corn and beans are harvested in October you gotta remember.
I live in Freeborn County and I can tell you we have many monster bucks. Even in the Preston, Spring Valley area with the CWD they are still plentiful.
South Eastern MN ,has some lottery hunts in state parks, and sna areas.but it is some steep country, deep valleys leading to the Mississippi river valley. True monsters are taken every year.but be ready to put some hard miles in to get one , lots of hunter pressure on these deer.
Hey buck truck or element guys not sure what to call you anymore lol but I went to college in ely Minnesota and bowhunted there for 2 years and I can tell you it’s not easy for sure! Most trail camera picture were either moose or wolves but I did shoot a decent 10ptr my second year.. I figured out that most the deer up there eat out of peoples bird feeders… but if you were trying to get on some bucks in Minnesota definitely stick to the SE portion of the state!!
Also for you’re on point with the places close to the metro. “City slicker” spots are in an abundance wherever you like in the cities. You can find a spot under an hours drive no problem.
Any recommendations for area to hunt near Saint Paul? I’m a newer hunter just moved here this year and have no idea where to go I’m a bow hunter just looking for meat
@@charlesbauswell459 southeast is always pretty safe. I’d say focus on the River Valleys and their surrounding Ag fields.
@@PholdingFeasants any WMA recommendations?
You buy a bounce tags all antlerless unless if you get a special permit
I know yall have done oklahoma twice but would love too see south central oklahoma I hunt the arbuckle public land in sulphur
Minnesota is great hunting state and in my area we have lots of big bucks and lots of does for filling freezera
Any recommendations near the Metro? I’m willing to drive but just moved here this year and have no idea where to go I just want deer for meat
You can not kill more than 1 buck in Minnesota but you can kill more than 2 deer. How you would kill more than 2 deer in Minnesota would be to hunt in a 3 deer zone or to kill one in a one deer zone move to a two or three or 5 deer zone ... You can take up to 5 deer in Minnesota but the way to do it is hunting in different zones.
I hunt SE MN in cwd area. 3 bucks per season one buck in archery one buck in gun n one buck in muzzleloader.
Any recommendations on where to hunt public down there? I just moved to Saint Paul not sure where to go and I’m a new bow hunter
I would like to see you guys do one for Louisiana.
It will be releasing soon in fact!
How come you guys dont turn off the public land map layer so the WMA names dont show up on screen? PS Listened to the podcast of KC on Truth from the Stand last night. That was fun.
The reason we don’t do that is we feel like we are only sharing what is public information. The idea is that these are places you can go and put boots on the ground to apply what we are talking about. It’s just a lot more helpful to most viewers this way.
Glad you like that podcast dude! Clint is a cool dude.
Hit me up got a lot of public land really great success big tip for you I goto sd for shotgun season the orange army in big stone county where I’m from is really bad, a week after muzzleloader is so much better no near as many hunters for November
That public land at 8:36 is the one I hunt..I shot a 196 3/8" outta there last year
U got pics?
@@mickeyher8709 sure do sir
Nowadays there are damn near more wolves than deer in northeast Minnesota.

One more type of public land that is open to public hunting is Waterfowl production areas.
