"La Marseillaise" from Casablanca should have been #1! The character Yvonne, the woman shown singing in close-up, along with the character Emil, her real-life husband, and many of the extras in the scene were true-life refugees who had barely escaped France before the Nazis invaded and occupied the country. Casablanca was released at a point during WWII, where it was far from a given that the forces of good would prevail. It just doesn't get more TRULY emotional than that.

My mom can't watch that part. That movie came out not long after her boyfriend (the best she ever had in my opinion) had died from a heart attack. She was still in mourning and I had forgotten how the movie would most likely end (I had seen the Judy Garland version) so I failed to warn her. For weeks after I would hear that song playing and my mom crying from inside her room. I would run in and turn it off. Then hold her. Sidenote, I'm an adult who lives with my mom so I could handle her sadness.
David was not perfect but he was perfect for her. I truly miss him.

Watching that performance from Jennifer Hudson it's no wonder that she won the Oscar that year, in her _first ever_ movie no less! "Evermore" from the live action Beauty and the Beast (2017). I love that the Beast sings it after letting Belle go. It's a very emotional song, as you watch the Beast make his way up the tower stairs, until he comes out onto the balcony of the tower, singing , as the camera turns and you can see Belle in the distance below, riding through the gate, leaving his castle. I get emotional over that scene, cause you know that the Beast's heart is broken.

It's too bad that Emma Watson could have been out-acted by a plank of wood in that movie. I enjoyed Dan's performance but I've never liked Emma in that role. If you think every differing opinion is "bitter" or "angry" then yes, you _definitely_ need to get offline for a bit and touch some grass because _yikes on trikes_ are you ever being hyperbolic over something _really_ silly. If my comment upset you _that much_ then you definitely need to step away.
Conversations are really boring if everyone is always in complete agreement about everything. People have different opinions about things, both positive and negative, and... that's okay. You can express dislike for something without it meaning you're miserable or frothing at the mouth.
So... you can read whatever Big Feelings™ you want into what I've said and that's fine. I'm just having a civil conversation. 🤷‍♀️
      Have a day. 👋

As much as I love "The Music That Makes Me Dance" (and I do, it's my favorite number in the show), a part of me will always be a little bummed that they didn't add "My Man" to the latest production of "Funny Girl." Maybe it's too difficult to perform at every show. (I'm basing that off of Lea's comments, it's not a knock at Lea or Julie's capabilities), but it still would have been cool to see live.

A great list, but Edelweiss makes it while Casablanca's rendition of La Marseillaise does not? Not only is the song truly emotional (many of the singers were actual refugees from Europe) but the courage and solidarity represented in the "battle of the anthems" still resonates and applies today. I really do not understand why Ms Mojo loves The Sound of Music so much. It seems to be on so many of its lists. I would suggest "Somewhere" from West Side Story as a worthy entry if you make another list.
