Inside the Scene: Flyaway Balloon shows how Bridgerton’s first major stunt sequence was created. A windy day and a wayward balloon threaten to ruin everything, but a quick thinking Colin saves the day and Penelope. We follow the actors during rehearsals and filming the scene with the crew as well as the visual effects team as they all work together to bring this memorable scene to life. It made me think of the horror films where one of the female characters is running away from a monster (granted slower than they’d walk) and then trips, falls, and sprains their ankle.

Absolutely excellent. So interesting. I love the continuity and teamwork between the departments. The skills and experience is so evident. Thank you to all cast and crew for an excellent job done.
I love this whole scene but I think they could have taken it a step further. There was some wasted opportunity here. Colin was aware that Penelope was in danger. I would have loved to have seen him run over to Penelope to see if she is OK and have his concern be the first clue to Debling that Colin may have feelings for Penelope. Then the conversation with Cressida could have been the other shoe falling.
Well, earlier in the episode she asks to spend some time apart, so I guess that's why he didn't approach her afterwards

OK, I might be naïve, but it never occurred to me that that balloon was not real. Maybe I’m old and don’t think we’re special effects coming to play. But it sure did look real.

I was a little upset that netflix released stills from this scene with camera angles that didn't make into the show. If I didn't knew they existed I'd be ok, but now I wanna see them hahaha
It happened with stills from other eps too, there are pictures from scenes they never showed, but the outfits already appeared. And the interesting part is no one seemed to notice.
