We’re newbies on the wrist watch scene, luxury and otherwise, but I did get the Montblanc for hubby (pre-owned...wed anni) nearly identical to this, only it’s a bronze dial and silver steel bezel , so this video was very helpful! It was too nerve wracking to consider Rolex, because authenticity is too tricky for a novice to confirm, and though Rolex =epitome of luxury, it feels bourgeois/cliche, so this Montblanc was chosen for the 1st watch instead , and we love it , despite heavy n chunky lol!
I'm not normally a fan of iced out watches but this one actually isn't bad, the diamonds integrate nicely into the lugs & like that they don't extend all the way into the rest of the bracelet so it's more like an additional detail than a complete bust down. definitely agree though that Montblanc's definitely a brand to watch over the next few years
But the current all time favorite is Breigtling Bently Motor 2003 bronze dial for some reason, but it is an astronomical price for a first watch, especially your pointing out the weight/heft, and the many other variables that come into play ! And that one is a mm bigger if not mistaken...But there’s more to see out there! Please Post more vids when/if any other goodies found!
Your description of the weight was helpful , because during heated board/business meetings, his partners/colleagues animatedly clank theirs around, so it’s good he’s got one for the occasional dramatic table bang now, too! Hahahaha JK but yea!!
IMO, that Montblanc isn’t gaudy or chunky when on your wrist/arm. In hand, it appears slightly “iced out”, but on the wrist it’s another story: sharp, classy and unique! That’s odd, but good lol
Personally when people 'bling up' top branded watches it devalues the watch. Similar to boy racers buying a Mercedes and adding aftermarket exhausts and body kit. The watch's charm and value is in it's originality. Just my 2c worth.
And since this ended up as our first pick/first watch, any more facts/stats on Montblanc would be greatly appreciated, it’s agreed they’re up and coming, so it’ll be interesting to know if they succeed or sink in lux watch genre ..
Putting 5k wheels on a 5k car is dumb. That said. If you like the way it looks and get a sick deal on someone else’s irresponsibility it makes it worth it. I’d apply the same principle. It’s a cool add to a collection

Very fair point tbh this watch was kinda bought for fun and kind of a comic relief kind of piece of that makes sense
