MontBlanc comes up with a beautiful, interesting, unique and...importantly, ELEGANT aesthetic for a DIVER, and you give it short shift on appearance. You almost sounded bored with it during the design segment, and you didn't even pick it up during the style segment. Instead fawning and fondling the Omega like it was your lover. As for the X factor. It seems that you take the concept to be merely a summary of factors already listed. But an X factor typically equates to je ne sais quoi. And the MontBlanc has it in spades. How about a category for "beautiful woman spotting your watch at a bar". So you can go outside yourself. So we aren't totally subject to the narrow confines of your mannish viewpoint. She sees the Omega and thinks, "Another guy with another diver. Not very interesting or daring is he. Too safe for my tastes." She sees the MontBlanc and thinks "My GOD that's beautiful! Yet masculine. Is it a diver? No. Yes! I cannot tell! I must find out. I must talk to this man. This mysterious stranger with the enchanting timepiece."
Thank you for taking the time to share your interesting opinion... we obviously differ on our views on these pieces. Both are in my possession so I have no clear reason to be biased toward the Omega... this is just my view on a comparison which ultimately has subjective elements (despite attempts to be objective). I'm just not as taken with the MontBlanc... I do like for what it is but I like the Omega more. As for attention from beautiful women, well I've worn both plenty and can't say one is more successful than the other... but then again maybe I'm just not that type of guy that women come up and talk to because they spotted my watch ;)
Single women at bars don’t know what the fuck a dive watch is and wouldn’t know a difference between an omega or a fossil. If you’re buying a watch specifically to get laid off it the only answer is Rolex and you’re still a loser.
It's always amusing how subjective our enthusiasm for watches can be. You seem to honestly love and adore your Omega. Meanwhile the Montblanc has lit a fire of lust in me while the Omega couldn't interest me any less.
Oh I fully understand where you're coming from. Actually the Montblanc is not a bad piece at all, the quality is undeniable and they are making a serious bid at being a watchmaker, not just a "fashion" accessory name. I respect them for that!
Nice review. I currently own the Omega SMP ceramic (non-chromo) and I previously owned the MB Sport Chrono (same as yours but with white face and black subdials) for 7 years. I can't speak to the chronograph version of the Omega, but I do prefer my SMPc to the MB. However, the fit, finish, quality and beauty of the MB is fantastic. I even found its reverse cyclops date window useful. The only thing I did not 100% like about the MB is the butterfly clasp and that the bracelet with watch (it is 14.5 mm tall) was pretty heavy by the end of the day. Whereas, the SMPc is more svelte and comfortable. The Omega is a true classic dive watch and the MB is a wonderful new interpretation.
Thank you for the insightful comment Doug. I happen to have an Omega SMPc too (review here: ruclips.net/video/0vYgMYedwwY/видео.html) and it remains one of my absolute favorite pieces. These are both rather heavy watches, but I'd say that if you find the MB here heavy (it's 175g) then you'd certainly wouldn't like the Omega SMP Chronograph which comes in at 205g! Cheers, Ivan.
Thank you for the comparison video. I owned two MB Sport Chronograph watches and i absolutely love them both, One with Rubber strap Perl dial the other one is just like the one in your video stainless still link bracelet black dial.
..good review...but you suspect a lower clibre in the MB...you have no confirmation though ..design...the Omega can be mistaken for a Citizen..even a Seiko....absolutely no mistaking the MB for anything else then an MB....that is partially why we buy expensive distinct watches.... ...not saying you are wrong...just my opinion...
Thanks for the thoughts - you make some good points! I don't have confirmation that the Omega holds a higher grade Vajoux 7750 but objectively speaking it IS a chromometer where there MB is not, so I would still *have* to give it the higher score. Of all the categories I think design and style are the most subjective, so fair game as long as there is a rationale (which you have appropriately provided). Cheers, Ivan.
Omega nowadays are way too boyish to me personally. One important point you might want to add is the feel of the bracelt, which is so important for me. I like heavy (doesn't mean big, but dense materialwise) and smooth bracelts, like Rolexes with 904L. Some like light ones, yes, but not me. I have this montblac and you will not be disappointed with it's bracelt. But Omega... too cheap.
I own the exact Omega with the blue face, omega all the time, my wife has the 50 years limited edition with the diamond 💎 on the 7 I prefer Omega every time, the Rolex has a rubbish bracelet everything on the Table mega drips luxury it's heavy and once on your wrist you really understand the superior watch it is. 👍😜🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
another in depth excellent review , i would over all pick the Omega , either would be a fine choice , thank you , quite interesting !

I have a Montblanc sport and while I love the Omega I would not swap. Buy one, be an individual!
Or better yet, get both :D

i would choose the MB any day, looks luxurious without the pretension
Thanks for that - fair enough, I think the MB definitely has style :)

Thanks for the comment - glad you enjoyed video!
Hey, good work
Thank you! :)
What would be a better buy, montblanc sport or the Maurice Lacroix Watch Automatic Aikon Ai6038
Depends what you mean by “better”. Ultimately I think you should be guided by your own taste and preferences.
It's difficupt to beat SM300 in its wn area. thank you a lot for the comarison!
my best regards.
sorry for the typo 😣
Thanks Sameh - glad you enjoyed the video!

And which is the better watch?
Watch the video for the answer to this and many more questions :)
Great video. Thanks
Most welcome
You made it apparent very early which watch you favored. Not a biased comparison review at all.
That’s right, 100% objective! Glad you enjoy ;)
Great battle...tough choice.
Thanks Jason... For me I think the MB has its charms but overall I would lean toward the Omega most days :)
omega has a much more classic design
Thanks for the feedback Eric, cheers!
..good review...but you suspect a lower clibre in the MB...you have no confirmation though

... love that Omega !!! ... ❤❤❤
It’s beautiful :)
Why did I knew already omega won this
At a guess, I'd say good intuition :)

Thanks for sharing the thoughts - IMO the Omega bracelet is actually a bit better than the Mont Blanc.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like your spellcheck made Omega into Table, which is amazing! :)
Mont blanc for dial and hands
Maybe hands. SM for dial.
