A 7.9 score from Dave for pie he considers “artisanal” is at least an 8.9 for most other people.

Sounds about right. Other than the blasphemous basil, that first pie looked awesome. The pie at the end...it looked good, not great, but solid. Probably tastes better than it looks. So between the 2, and tossing out the basil...I'd say their pies are likely 8.4-8.6 on average to most people. Very high even if the "normal" pie isn't as gorgeous as that first pie, I bet it tastes great.
Owner coming out saying 9.1 dropped his score from a 8.4 to 7.9
The owner stalked, gave a sap story, and had his mommy manipulate all to try and get a better score. I guess that's what you do when you can't make a good enough pie.
Probably where I live in Southern California there’s very few places to get good pizza (I grew up in Philly )so the pizza he ate originally would probably be a 9.5, and I would love to crawl into his brain to figure out what that second pizza was……… bastard..

Obviously you don't understand about being a parent. The mother doesn't "deserve that and more" from her child because she as a parent is expected to put her children in a better position to receive everything and more than what she had. This means finding a mate who is a provider. For her to have worked jobs to support her family as a single parent is what she needed to do. You don't get participation awards for that! Feminism have brainwashed you all into believing that single mothers "deserves that and more" from their sons as if their sons are their husband. And also, she was a florist so she have already received her flowers!

So when we hear that a child is doing well somehow she "deserves that and more" for doing her job as an adult parent and it's looked as a surprised!
We never hear from people say that to a father "deserves that and more" nor that we see a fathers wanting any praises from his child for his job on parenting.
You all put these females on these pedestals because you all know that the majority of females are selfish and do not put in the work to so that their child can strive to be better than them. The rule of parenting was always to make the next generation better than the last.
This pizza owner used the single mother tactic for sympathy from the viewers to ignore and not give him any backlash for him and his buddies that stalked Dave outside his place of residence which was a intimidation factor used because of Dave given his pizza a 7.9 score. This emotionally behaviors like a female are from being raised by a single mother.
Look at how he was behaving at the end of the video. He was still trying to get a new score even when he was told that he wasn't getting a new score.

I respect Dave's review and style preference, although that first pizza looked like a perfect best of both worlds between thick and thin pie. 100%

I worked at Romo's, and they have a really good environment in there. Everyone there are great people. Was really happy to see you finally went in. It's some of the best pizza I've ever had, they should've gotten a 10 imo, but we know the rules I guess. 😴😴 Anthony and his family deserve the recognition for their work and this restaurant, no doubt. Some of the sweetest people I've ever met
He should’ve given a score for the 2nd style. He scores multiple different styles all the time. I guess embarrassing a passionate small business owner was more important or something. Whatever. Looks like Anthony is a stand up dude and that pizza looks bomb af. 🍕

Dave's got his own system, but that first pizza looks like a 9.2 on my scale. But I like that Italian "artisan" pizza that Dave isn't crazy about: parm, olive oil, fresh basil, buffalo mozzarella etc.

Dave's more a visual and texture guy (hand and mouth feel) than a flavour guy - multi-bite crust review. Notice that he never mentions the sauce's taste. He remarks where it's placed. To me sauce matters a lot. And basil with a great tomato and buffalo mozzarella is the holy trinity in my book. But that's wetter than Dave likes.

An artisinal getting a score like that is amazing for his standards. A normal person would probably give it a high 8 or more. It looked phenomenal.

Dave jumped the shark with this review. That pizza looked phenomenal and I'm sure it tasted just as good.
If we were still in the pandemic, Dave would've given it an 8.5 or higher. 2021-2022 was the time a lot of mediocre pizzas got scores into the 8s when this great looking pie got knee capped at 7.9. I don't blame the owner for ducking out after he heard the score.

I feel like I've watched a thousand reviews, maybe all of them? And I gotta say that THAT man deserves a new score for the new, different pizza when you've given other businesses multiple scores for different styles and cookies etc. in the past. He deserves it, the family deserves it and the business does. Do the right thing :D

That being said, as soon as I saw the green basil shrubbery on top I knew Dave would say something about it being artisanal, which is never his style, and it would be a miracle if it made it into the 8’s.
But he can't underscore it based on that! That first pie looked like it deserved 8.5

You all respecting a owner that stalked Dave's place of residence with his friends as a intimidation tactic all because he was emotional hurt by the score. And then on top of that he used the single mother manipulation tactic to receive public sympathy so that you all would ignore what he did. Even his own cousin at the horse track knew what he did was crazy after Dave told her what he did to him.

I have watched a zillion reviews and I knew when he gave the 7.9 that it was a mistake. That pizza looks amazing. Also, there was at least one re-review I can think of where Dave improved the score.
yeah, just a few weeks ago there was the place in nyc with that woman who kept on swearing, it got like a 4 or something, and he came back and re-reviewed it with a better score when they begged him.
One in the last month, actually. And a couple of re-visits.
The first wasn't Dave's style. The second visit wasn't because dude cried about his mom, somewhere in conversation Dave heard the words, " Got the good coke 45 minutes away".
Dave isn't reviewing pizza any more you can tell two pizzas that look and most likely taste identical could score a point apart easy. He rates the chef as much as he rates the product.

So basically they originally gave him the wrong pizza. This is their traditional slice that they usually sell in the stores, and the one Dave got at 1st time was based off the pizza they cooked to win the contest in Italy.
Yeah, I don't believe that. Of course they're going to claim he was given the wrong kind of pizza. With the owner there, it shouldn't even be possible for that to happen considering he's probably waited years for Dave.
