  • In this video I show the steps and procedures necessary to replace in properly diagnose a bad blower motor or blower motor resistor in a Nissan Titan. If you have a Nissan armada or Infiniti QX56 these procedures in parts will be the exact same. The truck I’m working on is a 2000 1410 titan with 256,000 miles. The blower motor has failed and in the beginning of the video I show how to properly diagnose and make sure you were getting correct voltage to the blower motor. Make sure to check The links below for a good price on parts. If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave something in the comment section. Thanks for watching and enjoying

    Perfect. I learned the diagnostics and repair without a 30 minute introduction about where you bought your truck. Every video should be like this.

    I just fixed my blower motor on my 2006 titan. Before the fix it seldomly worked at all. I removed the blower, unscrewed the torx head from the blower motor bracket and removed the motor with the fan still attached. I used snips to cut a access hole by snipping out the air vent on the side of the motor. I attached sandpaper to a screw driver, inserted it inside the motor and turned the fan while I scuffed the spot where the brushes make their contact. Once that contact zone was as shiny as a new penny and I blew the dust out and I reassembled the motor into the bracket . I reinstalled the blower motor and it worked near perfect. I am in hawaii so I saved a few bucks and a long wait time.

Another video suggests changing both blower resister and blower motor at the same time because if one failed its only a matter of time before the other will also. It took a year but they were right. Also hope that you have blower resister shown in video, it's pretty inexpensive ,around $20.00 , if you need the other type which I did its a $100.00 from Nissan dealership

A problem I’m having is I don’t get much air pressure when I use the A/C and found there was no cabin air filter when I got the truck. I put one in and cleaned out the blower motor which was full of leaves/twigs and it still has almost no pressure. I was wondering if you could maybe make a video showing how to get to the A/C evaporator coil because I’d like to check that next! Please and thank you so much! Great vids!

    Some Titans that have a manual control system on some models have a variable speed blower switch. The switch has no speed settings 12345. The speed switch just has a 0 and adjusts to high speed as you turn it up. This is a variable speed blower switch. It uses the same resistor as the automatic control system. It is the 5fin resistor from Nissan,four fins on most aftermarket. If replacement is needed take out first and check it to get the right one. The one fin resistor will not work on the variable speed blower switch with the manual climate control system.

    Hi I think this is what I have to do ,I have a 2006 nissan titan ,the air is cold but I don't see where it's blowing hard from the front vents ,it seems to blow hard below the dash and above by the windshield.
    So I look below the dash and I think I see the blower and the resistor and I'm pretty sure I can change it myself ,I'm not the car mechanic .
    But I'm thinking I'd like to just go ahead and change both while I'm doing it .
    Do you think it's a good idea or should I just change one ,from what I explained so far .
    Also I'm not sure which resistor I should get for my truck ,you said there are two different resistors ,how do I know which one to get ?.
    When I brought it to the nissan dealership they told me the whole dashboard would be needed to be removed ,I'm glad to see that's not the case that it can be done from below the dashboard etc .
    I think you saved me a lot of money so thank you ,and great video .

    • @AaronHinesAuto
      @AaronHinesAuto  5 лет назад +1

      no, unfortunately you have a bad blend door motor. the left and right side each have their own air mix door but the left (driver's) side is on top of the heater and A/C case and the right (passenger) side is on the bottom of the case. These are five wire units. Two wires are responsible for rotating the motor depending on the direction of current flow. The other three wires are for a sensor so the control unit can tell where the door is. Also, these motors generally have a master spline and they can only be installed in one position. Make sure the correct replacement part is used. Nissan calls for the dash to be removed to gain access to that blend door but i have done the job without removing the dash. 1. remove radio-glove box to access servo on top of blower box. was able to take center vent stack & glove box out, pry up on vent and get long extension w/swivel to get screws out & remove actuator. good luck

      The only Titan that came with the cabin filter was the LE trim level. If you want filter in the lower end models, u have to install one yourself.
