  • Going over the 2024 Toyota Tacoma and 2024 Toyota tundra. Touching on all the failures that led to the state that they’re in right now. Their competitors are destroying them badly trucks like the frontier and the Ford F150, as well as even Ram 1500 are stomping them.
Unreliable power trains that are not efficient at all, ridiculous styling choices, and cheap materials built badly. Outsourced tens of thousands of American jobs for this?? Congratulations Toyota, I’ll tip my hat for job well done. You aimed with greed, and you shot someone else’s target. You couldn’t have done it worse, that takes effort🤘🏼🤘🏼

The only reason they havent recalled the '24 tundra is because they are still trying to sell them. If they issue a recall, the law dictates that they have to fix them before they can sell them.

Oh I’ve advised him to do that. GM twins have turbo engines but they did theirs correctly. It’s the largest possible 4cyl to adhere to emissions regs. 2.7 V6 used to be one of the most common engine sizes. They went 2.7 V4 Turbo, the trucks will be a lot less stressed than Toyota’s power train.

100% the blame goes to the new ceo. Implemented planned obsolescence to the extreme. Now Toyota is no better than anyone else. Except they’re more expensive than most others. The price use to be worth it because of reliability. Not the case anymore.

Truck sales for Toyota in the USA is barely a blip on their radar. They will likely replace their U.S. CEO and keep on making vehicles. The real problem here is for the consumer who bought the new junk at an outrageous cost.

Then 10 years later everyone acts like they never were that guy. Then start the cycle all over again at the next redesign. Also, prices and lot times are absolutely driven by location. As an example, the lot time for the 2024 Tacoma in my area with 2 dealerships within 10 miles of each other is about 4 days.

I can see why you're happy if you're coming from a Ram Truck. Toyota trucks sort of have a cult like following and us Toyota fans are not happy with the direction their trucks are going. The new Tundra & Tacoma are more like American trucks. We prefer solid, simple, reliable, low maintenance trucks that go for 350,000+ miles. The new Toyota trucks are more plastic, cheap, and complex to work on. Good luck with your new Tacoma!

@@danfontes9130 True, but as a Yota head myself from a 91 Landcruiser, with a few Camrys in there, and a 03 Taco and 20 Taco; Toyota fans are never happy with the direction. Ever. Every generation gets bashed by Toyota fans and critics alike and every time like clockwork they work out the minor kinks and are solid. Same ole same ole. As an example this Tundra recall will be a tiny blip on the radar by the end of this generation. Debris going into the main bearing. Affecting 800ish trucks to this point. Obviously most if they have debris it is small enough to get past the bearing and caught by the oil filter or you have wayyyyyy more than 800. Seems to be a select batch/a handful of plants. Nothing to do with the actual design or powertrain itself.

After a decade of Tacoma ownership, I realized that owning one is basically pointless unless you’re an off-road enthusiast and a minimally talented DIYer. Their smaller size and comparatively weak engines render them severely compromised for anything else people need trucks for. They used to look cool - the old ones still do - but I reckon most people who have a Tacoma want it but don’t need it.

Toyota is not like Chevy Kia Hyundai they replace their engines. That’s the Japanese motto. They want to know why it failed and they fixed the problem. They don’t scrap the engines. They want to know why it failed and they make them better. It’s proven that’s why Toyota vehicles last long look at when the V8 came out three years worth of problems with the V8 engine that’s now icon. The new tundra has more torque than a lot of trucks out there if you’re looking to tow, you want torque numbers if you own the new tundra what’s a lot of people talk about? They don’t even own it. Why would anyone buy a truck that is overpriced with engine and transmission failures not to mention replacing a strong V6 and V8 with a turbo L4 because their engineers apparently are not smart enough to design. They created an electric truck and claimed specifications that are borderline fraud. I have owned Toyota trucks for over 20 years to include Tacoma’s and Tundras but I just replaced my old Tundra with a Honda Ridgeline Black Edition and I am very pleased with it to include the V6. I am done with Toyota Trucks they are much too arrogant and absolutely ignore the customer's wants and needs. Over the years when I have complained about issues and I address the executives I always get a call from a woman admin type for the executive office with boiler plate excuses and apologies. Toyota does not care about its customers just the bottom line. They will not rein in their rogue dealers who add on exorbitant markups, fees and addons claiming they have no leverage which is ridiculous. If it is true than Toyota attorneys and management do not know how to write contracts or again just don't care. I am done with Toyota trucks let those with money to throw away or burn buy them. IMHO.

I like how the Toyota bashing is the thing to do lately. Like the first year or 3 wasn't great for the 3rd gen Tacoma or any model of Toyota and any other manufacturer.
Toyota is the only manufacturer that has the least recalls than every other one by such a massive amount it's almost ridiculous. And they always fix the issue. They are not perfect but common get off the bandwagon.

The Tacoma just looks cheaply built. Way too much plastic inside and out.

I love the look of the new Tacoma. I hate the tundra. Although they are similar, the Tundra front end is hideous.
My main complaint with the Toyota is the price gouging. I’ve been driving Toyota trucks since the mid 80s. I’m looking at the Frontier as my next vehicle.

Toyota trucks are going in the wrong direction, why fix something that’s not broke. Actually many manufacturers are doing the same, Honda which I know first hand is charging you more and giving you less.

Toyota has ruined most all there cars/trucks with these junk turbo engines that will not see 300k miles without a major repair bill. Small engines in large cars/trucks do not last. All for no MPG gain i get 18MPG in my V8 Tundra and you don't buy a truck for MPG.

I’m sincerely glad you do. That all that really matters. Toyota Tacoma owners are just frustrated. Massive price increase over the last generation with a what’s being received as a downgrade in engine quality, reliability and expected longevity. Higher cost of ownership expected and much less resale value. It’s not what Toyotas loyal buyers have experienced in the past and they don’t know what else fills the bill for them. Nissan appears to be the most similar but let’s face it, it’s still a Nissan not a Toyota of the past.

I’m a satellite communications engineer and retired military officer. I can afford to buy every trim of each truck at the same time. I’m making these videos to inform the public on what will happen once they try to buy a vehicle. Also, going onto automotive lot during business hours is not trespassing.
