    This is the Skyline trim I'd want! If the owner would like to share the winning bid, please do ... either here or PM. Looks like a nice driver!

    Things on this car always makes me wonder about it's past life. Some things give you a idea it's been loved and cared for. Others that it's been cared for a bit less. Maybe loving first owner for most of it's life? Then some kids run around first car? Also... RX-7's in the background...

      its only a gtst so maybe a sporty kind of daily, they dont drive that much like the us people do

      +ProjectGTR It's just that it seems it's been garage kept as it doesn't have some of the flaws typical of longtime sun exposure. But then it has a few dents and paint cracks.

    • @ExciteLetsPlay
      @ExciteLetsPlay 7 лет назад

      i dont see why a car has to have flaws of sun exposure. I always wondered why US cars have that so much. In Germany for instance you barely see any of these sun damages. also not on 30 year old cars that where not garage kept. Sometimes some faded paint, like on red cars but nothing major a little polish cant fix. Guess it has to do with the climate, and i would say that germany is there pretty similar to japan. Also we have more shadow in these smaller countries because all houses are closer together

      and in the cities you got alot of underground parking, due to lack of space.

      +ProjectGTR I feel we're bogging down on a discussion on wear from sunshine. Where I was just wondering about the different vibes the car gives me. As some things give the idea of care but then also that it got banged up a bit.

    You were definitely right on your suggestion with the pattern of the interior. I used to have a late model HCR32 which was from '93 which had the same pattern.

    You have a gtr in the background the exact same colour. You could line them both up and compare the differences between them.

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  7 лет назад +3

      I had thought about doing that but ran out of time. The car sneed to be in and out of the lot fast or we will run out of space.

    About how much USD would a clean GTS this sell for?

    • @Acc0rd79
      @Acc0rd79 7 лет назад

      Go on the auction of his site, probably 5 to 8k range, then your fees to get it over to the USA. Dealers in the USA are selling them 12k for the ones they have on site and you know they are really making a lot.

    Silly question, but what would happen if you sent a 24 year and 8-11 month old car on the boat to ship it to the usa and then by the time it takes to reach the shore it would be 25+. The likely hood of someone actually doing this with you is low, but I wonder if it could be done.

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  7 лет назад +3

      (Andrew) 24 years and 11 months is perfectly okay - provided the arrival date is on the other side of the 25-year mark. For example, we could ship a January 1992 car in December of 2016, provided it arrives in January of 2017. I suppose you could ship a car a few months early, but it would be stuck in customs racking up storage fees until it matured. Best to keep the car in Japan and either let it mature here, or ship it later and have it come of age on the vessel.

      NELKEL GTR VLOGS What? That is actually suprising!

    • @The_JDM_Dynasty
      @The_JDM_Dynasty 7 лет назад

      There are a few legal road going GTST's and GTT's roaming around but they were brought in via a specific rule where if you live in a foreign country for a year you can bring in any RHD car or a delegates rule.. However we are only able to Import S15 Spec R, R32/33/34 GTR, NSX, RX7 FD and the Supra MK4 was recently banned for importation in 2014 :|

      I'm surprised because the GTR is a high performance car and it is strange that they would rather have those cars on the streets instead of GTSTs

    • @The_JDM_Dynasty
      @The_JDM_Dynasty 7 лет назад

      They are deemed as collectors items and the others aren't. I made a video on my channel called "Hw to import a Nissan Skyline GTR" explaining most of the laws. I'm currently going through the process now as my FD is arriving in 2 days :)

    Derek, I noticed a decent amount cars that are Grade 'R'. In Japan, what is the definition of an 'accident' (or what is considered an accident)?

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  7 лет назад +1

      Good questions. Two points -
      1 - When sports cars get older, the ratio of accident repaired cars goes up faster than other types of cars.
      2 - R grade can be as light as 5km/h, or as big as a roll over. Though since vehicles are cheap in Japan, most large accidents end up removing the car from the road for good. It doesn't make sense to pay $5000 to repair a car that is worth less than that.

    out of interest why do sellers put toll collection box as a selling point?

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  7 лет назад

      I don't know. The box is in just about every car and is only like $100 to install if you don't have one. I think the sellers just haven't opened up their brains since in the 10 years since having an ETC was considered special.
