  • The country of Morocco has been influenced by Arab, European, and African cultures throughout many centuries. See how three people live their lives in among the unique culture and warm scenery, starting with Abdullah, who lives in Taliouine, and shows us the secrets of saffron, a spice worth more than gold. We then meet French nurse Julie, living in the valley of the high atlas, working in one of the most remote environments in the country to care for its communities. And finally Ali and Lahof, the guides of the Sahara, who travel as the merchants used to hundreds of years ago.

      Just write down “Moroccan Tamazight” on RUclips and you’ll hear. However, there’s manyy dialects of Tamazight (the native language of North Africa from the Canary Islands to the extreme west of Egypt) in Morocco. I believe this is Tachelhit or central middle atlas Tamazight I am not sure, but I think it’s more on the Tachelhit side. Very interesting indeed ;)

      @@uknow168 Morocco in its roots is NOT an Arab country. It’s an African country that recently adopted Arabic (with Arabian influences and Islamic heritage), that not even Arabs understand. So if you ain’t happy about it, doesn’t matter, because history and science don’t lie unlike despicable humans. Customs are different, culinary traditions, dialect, everything moroccan is different from the Arabs.

      It’s institutionalized racism, when the owners and governors of the country themselves are of amazigh origin (king of Morocco, first minister of Morocco, the president of royal football are all of amazigh origin). However, we have to keep in mind, that most people in all countries try to suppress native identities and try to assimilate populations. When you identify a whole country as Arab, suppress the language and impose your language, when you know that more than 50% of the population of that country aren’t of that origin there’s clearly a problem in the system. All love to our African brothers from all around the world.

    For those who wonder, when they say "yeah lah" it means let's go 😊 I learned it during my trips to Morocco in 2015 & 2017, Egypt and Jordan in 2021. You can make many new friends when you learn just few Arabic 😊

    • @rachidakechk
      @rachidakechk Год назад +10

      "yeah lah" in fact means " يا الله" ( ya Allah); the literal translation or the equivalent in English would be 'oh God!' or 'by God' which has become to mean 'let's get started' or 'let's go'. This is perfectly decent and polite as it is a wish for the help of God when you want to start something. By the way, wether you speak Amazigh or Arabic, the same expression is used.

    Here we go again with the 'desert+ camels' stereotype.
    The men in this video they speak one of the 'Berber' languages= Tamazight. This language+ ancestry has nothing to do with Arabs from the peninsula/Middle East nor with 'desert + camels' But either way, i did love this content and shows the beauty of Morocco too. With the WC 2030 ahead of us we will without a doubt also see that this "Hollywood" image will be 'broadend" and show that Morocco is much much more, with Mountains, Snow and the mediterranean climate as part of the diversities of this country.

    Saffron oiginated in Afghanistan. Even today it is a wild flower in Afghanistan and in Northeast of Iran. Even the name is the Arabized Persian word ZarParan (on Arabic since there is no "P" it is replaced with F) meaning golden leaves.

      La gente presente en el documentado son amazighofonos, lo que significa hablantes del tamazight, el idioma nativo del norte de Africa. Los Europeos y los árabes los llaman “beréberes” y siempre los representaron como salvajes en la historia. De hecho, son presentes en la isla de las canarias también. Mi pueblo es muy humilde y aún si no hacen recurso a la tecnología, para mi mis raíces siempre serán un símbolo de humildad y la representación más pura y verdadera de la vida. Saludos desde Canadá, que Dios te bendiga❤

    I enjoyed this video. It makes me think of the Middle Ages. A lot of science and philosophy books were written in Arabic then re translated into Latin. So interesting.

      They don’t speak in Arabic but in Tamazight (the native North African language) instead in this video❤
