I was completely awestruck at our encounter with the Sahara; i will never forget it. Apart from the feeling of being lost in the midst of the great ocean of sand, there was the absence of sound, except for the whisper of the wind over the dunes. Our guides/hosts spread a great wool rug and prepared sweet, hot mint tea as we sat watching & wondering how they'd manage to return us safely to our inn with the sun seeming to melt like a pat of butter over the tops of the dunes.

In the beginning when he grabs that vendors salt and then throw it. The guy is like 😮. I find it distracting how he pronounces Niger two different ways. Also the fact he’s English and knows zero French is baffling. Idk. Those poor animals …how they are treated. But the culture is incredible and what a treat to glimpse it so intimately. I wonder how it is now 22 years later. Camels are fascinating animals. They’re chill and badass at the same time. David cracks me up skiing in the desert. That guide was really helpful and informative

Truly amazing and incredibly beautiful. Thank you so much for taking me on this adventure of crossing the Saharan desert in the country of Niger. I loved watching you sand ski down the high mound and across the sand. Wow! Ancient customs and kind people taking you into their country and showing you the way and you bring this this adventure into our lives as a gift. You are so kind and respectful. Their world is so remote from the genocide of the Palestinians. I hope they find out what the Israelis are doing and pray it ends now and Israel exists no longer because they have been forced to leave and return to Europe.

Most of us typically think of deserts as sand and bare rock, so the cold places don't so much register as *deserts*, as in dryness- even cold.

No way would I ever go to Africa. No way would I ever cross the desert. Harsh climate hard life. This is not for me however as soon as the video started it just pulled me in I felt hypnotized. Thank you for taking me on a fascinating journey the only way I would ever learn of life on the other side of the world. Greetings from Texas USA 🇺🇸
