@Kunal Singh I think the developers of this movie weren’t aiming towards the movie being fully dc repeated. I think there goal was to show the viewers how a mentally disordered person adapts in the world. Then for the dc part of it, There were two choices: I think they either realized that the story they were telling was similar to a dc character so they decided to throw in a little bit of dc in there or they wanted their movie to be the most popular so instead they added in Easter eggs related to dc such as the Wayne family and the name joker.

I just love the restraint to actively not make this historic meeting more grandiose, epic, to the point of it coming across heavy-handed, I respect it so much. We already know their future so intimately, the symbiotic bond they will have, the yin to the other's yang. Here it''s simple, subtle, the faint pulse of Hildur's score gives it this quiet intensity and tension. You see their distinct mannerisms and personalities already through almost no words. Bruce's quiet, withdrawn but observant nature and being mature for his age, and Arthur's playfulness, putting on a show, a performance but also his impulsive unpredictability. It's just perfect.
If Swordfish009 with his top hat and monocle says a fictional character with pretty much 0 dialogue is depressed, You KNOW he's depressed and eating himself up inside.
Although Arthur isn't exactly acting appropriate here, he's actually has good Intentions. Throughout most of the movie he has good Intentions and people always treat him so poorly. Seeing anger swelling up within him as the movie progresses is amazing to see. Brilliant performance from Joaquin Phoenix.

@@grantmortensonva Yeah, I think he tries to avoid stooping to Joker's level but I also think theres a spec of guilt knowing that the very society Batman protects, created Joker to begin with. Bruce understands from a young age that he will never be able to comprehend in the slightest, the trauma that Arthur experienced as a result of the social hierarchy- His family prestige prevents it. Therefore, I think as helping people is innate to Bruce, he at times sees a broken child within Joker but is also smart enough to know that Arthur has fully succumbed himself to Joker and has gone passed the point of help. Establishing this 'frienemy' relationship between them. Batman will always prioritise the safety of the city but if there is a choice between killing joker or not. He would most likely choose not since he painfully understands that collectively they all did Arthur wrong, which in some ways led to the joker now doing wrong. If that makes sense.
@Toori Baba that's the point, they never show him crying or bats flying around or any clue if he would ever dress up as a bat and fight birthday clowns wearing purple or red.
@SeanTen 10 More of like the opposite. It's more like he's a quiet unsocial kid with mental issues and his parents + Alfred are the closest things to friends he has.
This hands down is probably my favorite scene in the film. Both Arthur and Bruce are already showing signs of what they will become in this meeting, which makes the meeting of the soon-to-be enemies that much more chilling. It’s even more poetic when the Batman and the Joker are born around the same time later in the film.
Robert Pattinson's batman is in a different earth if you didn't know , joker doesn't exist in that earth kinda like the multiverse but it's far more complicated in DC so this is actually Ben Affleck's portrayal of Bruce Wayne that's why they're giving Robert's Batman the riddler instead of joker
Agreed while this was an interesting take on Joker's origins, it wasnt the criminal mastermind that is what makes Joker the Joker if you know what I mean.
I don't think the point of this scene is that this is normal behavior or Alfred's reaction is unreasonable. When people have communication disorders/poor social skills they can offend and scare others. I think it helps that his magic tricks aren't too slick in the scene: he seems really awkward. His good intentions (cheer up a somber young boy) don't work out, he's just too weird. You see how he's gonna wind up isolated and ostracized as if he were a bad person.
@@joaquinbarboza3223 He didnt disrespect her directly. He said she was delusional, which she probably was. Then said she was a sick woman, probably meant as mentally sick which is understandable seeing how Arthur is. While it was harsh, it most likely was factual and blunt from Alfred.

A stranger puts his dirty hands in his mouth Little Bruce just stands there like "ok" Alfred gets almost chocked Little Bruce stands there like "OK" His parents get killed Little Bruce stands there like "OK" Most realistic portrayal of a kid in a movie ever.
Bruce Wayne looked into the eyes of a soon to be broken man and nemesis in the future in that childhood moment. Bruce probably remembered that moment in this universe, and grew to know who the man was after he discovered more when he finally became Batman. The Joker movie is one of my favorite of all time, and the way Joker looked at Bruce was… foreshadowing at its finest.
I find this version of young Bruce and his lack of reactions awesome, the best portrayal. He's stoic, it's in his nature. Not everyone with money and power can become Batman, no matter the trauma. Kid just had it in him, not in the bad way. After all, Batman is genius. His young self might act unusual. I find his lack of fear very fitting, I wouldn't call it psychopatic, but it's somewhat unhealthy, cool detail, love it.
@@grantimusprimeofficial2732 I feel like you can't really compare them. Mazouz's portrayal was good but I'd say that the actor who played Bruce in Joker is a lot more comic accurate.
If they explore Batman I'd find it interesting if they approach vigilantism as something that's more akin to how we see it in reality.. something that can cross the line, be disturbing, or wrong but also the opposite. Batman taking that sort of control irl would definitely rub many people the wrong way.
Staying calm while a stranger put his (Joker) hands into his (Bruce) mouth, just standing when Alfred is getting violence and choking and when his parents got murdered, best UNREALISTIC reactions ever lol
Quick little detail. Notice how Arthur and Bruce wear identical outfits. This is to show that Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Arthur are the same. Of course not like mind wise, but like the Joker quoted in the Dark Knight: “To them your just a freak, like me.” Good little detail by the directors.

This lowkey might be the most underrated scene in the film. Not to sound pretentious, but real Batman fans should know just how powerful and profound all of this is.

Something so intriguing that I think a lot of people over look is the outfits they’re wearing. Now notice that Arthur and Bruce’s color scheme match (white shirt w Beige jacket and gray pants ) that’s really cool but then if you remember back to Arthur’s Fantasy about being on the Murray show notice how him and Murray are matching as well (Blue jacket blue pants white shirt ). And that scene is clearly established as a fantasy. So it makes you think 🤔...
Notice how immediately after that Arthur is leaning over the sink, then it cuts rt to Arthur leaning over his own kitchen sink in the exact same pose🤔.
It just is evident from the start it's Bruce. A kid who won't laugh at funny tricks from a clown back then just shows how serious life was taken for Bruce. He never socialised with other kids which never made him smile often. And his parents death made it even worse for him. It shows how deep and emotionless was batmans life and how he was a introvert from the beginning
Idk how anyone saw this movie and thought this guy would ever be a serious crime lord someday who would be competent enough to go toe to toe with law enforcement let alone Batman. I also don't know how anyone saw Bruce this young in this movie and thought it'd ever make sense for this Joker to fight his Batman. It was clear from the get-go it was not meant to be a Batman story or a traditional Joker story, just a new adaptation character study. Not once did I think Arthur Fleck would be anything other than a loser inspiring people and I'm glad the sequel was in line with that.
@@abangemirzaihanabangzulkip9502 He never believed in his own ideals. He did was he did simply out of misery. Arthur has always been an insecure, depressed, suicidal man he’s wanted to die since the first film. He put on the clown makeup because it made him feel confident, but he the man himself was a suicidal weak man. Arthur doesn’t have the mindset to be the official joker Arthur doesn’t have the mental strength to either. Trying to turn this frail man into the joker would’ve been character assassination. While I dislike the film for the singing, the story itself is alright if you paid attention to the first movie.
@@morbidzombiithe joker is also in around his 50s in batman the animated series. Bruce's quiet, withdrawn but observant nature and being mature for his age, and Arthur's playfulness, putting on a show, a performance but also his impulsive unpredictability. It's just perfect.

This is the reason why joker never dies when Batman stops him
Cause there brothers?
Cause he remembers
He thinks killing Joker would make him just as bad. Even though that is totally not the case. Killing bad people doesn't make you just as bad, it means you had the nads to do the world a favor.
Bruce already knew Joker was man who doesnt deserve to be in prison, but needed help.

I really hope that little Bruce grows up to be Robert Pattinson’s Batman...really would like to see Robert and Joaquin in the screen together.

Yeah lol
True. But at least we know that Arthur intentions with Bruce in this scene were not bad, but the approach was creepy
I agree with you, but Alfred shouldn’t have insulted Arthur’s mother. That was too out of character
@@joaquinbarboza3223 He didnt disrespect her directly. He said she was delusional, which she probably was. Then said she was a sick woman, probably meant as mentally sick which is understandable seeing how Arthur is. While it was harsh, it most likely was factual and blunt from Alfred.

Bruce Wayne looked into the eyes of a soon to be broken man and nemesis in the future in that childhood moment. Bruce probably remembered that moment in this universe, and grew to know who the man was after he discovered more when he finally became Batman.

@@keytrononit3 I know what he means. I didn’t like Gotham’s storyline at all. Would like to see a dark and gritty movie like this.
