Very beautiful bench Indeed. I came over to your channel at a mention from Peter Millard, and I’m so glad to have found you. I appreciate the dense content of your videos, and the fact you get right to the content. And your self-deprecating sense of humour is a huge treat. Thank you for all the work clearly apparent in both your woodworking and your videography. I wish you many subscribers (although all that fame is likely to be nothing more than a bother) 🇨🇦
What a wonderful comment to recieve! Thank you! Peters been a good friend - even though I've not actually met him😁 Yes, fame I can live without. Happy enough if a few people find what I share helpful or interesting.👍
Hats off to you Stu on a fantastic upgrade to this method of bring the rail into play and then out the way given you the bench back. Oh, and cheers for the mention of the Original Waste Side Jigs - I love seeing them in use in other people's workshop - especially when precision is required.
Thanks Karl. These little changes and dial ins just make that bit better👍 Waste side jigs are a textbook example of simple genius mate. I use them so frequently, they live under the bench top for quick access! All the best.
Another gem video from you. I can't overstate how much I have benefited from following your channel. In every one of them I have taken out something that has helped move along as I discover this new hobby in my old age. Thank you and keep sharing!
I never realised you could zero out those level boxes to then rotate it to get plumb/square off that edge! That is such a game changer! That is what you did right? Thank you so much. 👍
Yes mate. They're not like a spirit level. They simply give you an angle reading in relation to whatever you've referenced for zero. It's become an essential in my workshop!👍
I’ve noticed on another channel, not sure which, they used a sacrificial replaceable strip under the saw cut, this was easily swapped for a new one when needed.
I find both this set up and the table saw invaluable. Panel sizing on the mft, ripping on the table saw and so forth. It is great having a rail always set on the bench though. Be sure to check out my latest video on the BD fence upgrade. In it I also redo the front pin. Might give you some more ideas 👍
Would not you prefer a StealthStop Woodpeckers ruler rail ? It's flush with the table, and you can still block the wood at the desire length. Problem I'm not sure if there is an equivalent in Europe. Edit : it does exist in the UK and Europe.
I don't think so. The stealth stop is a neat system for a mitre saw station but, on an mft cutting system, it's important for a fence to have under rail support. That is, a thin or low profile section of fence under the guide rail to stop work being pushed back as you cut. The benchsogs fence offers this. The stealth stop doesn't ...at least from what I've seen of it.👍
@@BischBaschBosch Yes it does not have one. But there's a secondary rail to add a fence/blocker where needed. I thought it's lighter to uninstall when we want a clean table again. The other possibility would be to embed both systems in the edge of the table, flush ; then rotate vertically on demand once we want a fence.
Its been a minute dude! Looks like a huge improvement on your lighting mate! Ive never viewed channels form my subscription panel on youtube so never seen your home page, might help if you made it look like youre serious about it all, hope you dont mind me saying mate - just trying to help is all. Anyway I hope youre kicking arse and taking names!
Cheers Ben. Yeah, I kind of quit YT but was talked into carrying on. I will, but not to any schedule. Light is still shite. Was told to take my strip lights I'd put up down by the landlord. Twat. I just use gamma in the editor to brighten the vids. I'll look at my page and what I can do. Don't mind the feedback at all bud. Especially knowing it comes from the right place. Best fella.
Fantastic! As a new tracksaw user with a similar set up but using profile and a gantry plate I’m still getting used to how to use it. Do you lock off the height adjustment for every material or do you leave it sloppy? Not sure if my setup is normal or a bit rubbish 😂
Cheers! I mean, generally when you're cutting, you're doing a bunch of the same material so, in that case, I'd lock it off. Now I have a lock, I probably still would even if I was doing 1 cut on different thicknesses to be honest. Whatever works best for you with stuff like that really innit. You saying you use profile and gantry for your track saw set up? I'll have to have a peak at that.👍
@@BischBaschBosch yes buddy, I’m using 40/20 profile and a gantry plate that was once a camera slider a company called RatRig used to sell for loads of money. It was only recently I realised it’s just regular profile with a gantry plate lol
Thanks. Unfortunately, very few people watch more than 5-6 minutes of my longer videos. If you want to see more on this retractable guide rail, there's a link to the original in the description. That covers my making of the hinge plate and pin holder.👍
The original was what bought me to your channel in the first place. Nice upgrade Stu.
Nice one mate. Thanks👍
Like the innovation of it being able to slide down at the back of the table, so you can still use it as an out feed. Great for a small shop.
Cheers. Yeah, it's only worthwhile where your benches are in the middle of shop really. Not needed if your bench is up against a wall.
Excellent! As usual, after one of your videos, I'm left with plenty of food for thought.
Thanks for posting!
That's great mate. Thanks👍
Excellent upgrade Dude. Always a very high standard of work.
Thanks mate. Really happy with this now.👍

Pucka upgrade m8, love the square linear rail. Hats off to ya,gr8 video
Thanks man. Yeah, those square (ish) profile linear rails are next level. Overkill for what I'm using it for but was spare so might as well use it.👍

So happy you used the 5 cut method unlike some brits who think 4 cuts gives them the result
Cheers mate. Yeah, pretty pointless without the 5th cut to give you a start/finish rip. Likewise, I'm so happy you made it that far through the vid!👊
Duncan Edwards? You must be old, too. Not a united fan here. Still deeply saddened by the recent death of the great Bobby Charlton.
@@johncorrall1739 Yeah it saddens us all I think when any of the great players pass away

Thank you! That's so nice to hear. Hope the woodwork brings you as much joy in your retirement as it has (and continues to) in my working life.👍
That’s an excellent upgrade Stu, love it 👍
Thanks mate👊

Brilliant idea. Great job.
Thank you👍

Never been sold on the idea for an mdf top mate. 🤷♂️
Been thinking about making one of these as I dislike using the table saw so would like an alternative so I can use it even less.

Thank you 😁
Wish I could get one for my Mafell
Build it, and will be yours my friend!

That's an interesting idea. Pretty happy with how simple the fence dog system is though. Just lift off and store under the bench top.

👍👍👍.Thanks
My pleasure mate. Thanks for watching👍
