Both Sulus are at the moment the only officer which have the trait "pilot". i woudnt say they are coplett usless... they give a bunch of easy lat day by day just for sending then away over and over again. I love this mechanik, it give so much officers a reason. Kuron is "free" now in ultra rekrut token. was amazed myself
Uncommon Sulu & TOS Sulu are my go-to officers for the missions that require "Pilot". Unless I'm setting an away mission for overnight there's no way Chen's being used!
Agree. Have both sulu’s pilot maxed. You have to take into account how frequently ATAs come up in addition to how good they are. Rub my lobes, and give me latinum!
I recently started a second account after 2+ years to see what has changed.... holy cow, officer dilution is a thing. It takes so long to unlock decent officers in the non faction chests because there are so many now
I am finding great value with TOS Spock at t3 especially on my Enterprise. TOS Kirk Captain Tos Spock and HG Worf. Vs those who haven’t been making their crit damage like they should and still run Khan it’s huge. For Troi I still can’t get behind her, she requires to be in the Capt chair and has the same exact effect as Gaila who can be in the side car vs normal armadas. (Making crits do 100% damage and taking crit chance away is same exact thing) Culber is nice for summoning, but not a high priority for some. Great video Rev
Love Culber. Comes in REALLY handy in mid-30's when there's a hostile hunt event (need to have Chen maxed to pull this off.) Send Disco to capital star system (sol, kronos, romulus). Look for level 49 "Federation Transport", "Klingon Transport" etc. (NOT the Heavy ones.) Disco summon your best ship with PMC on. Shoot at the ship - you'll have a defeat but your ship might still be alive. When your shield is back to 50%-75% shoot it again. Or have a second ship in zone (like a Sally) and shoot at it immediately while the transport's shield is low. Once you die summon back the ship with PMC and keep going. You'll take the next shot before the transport's shield is full if you repair and summon it fast enough. I can often get it on the 4th try (2nd summon) with tier 4 enterprise, and voila! Hostile hunt done in 2 minutes, and lots of mycelium saved with Culber.
For Sulu or Chen, it is worth spending trait xp even though they are uncommon because level 3 pilot maxes out your crit chance for the Low Orbit Flyby away team mission. I routinely bring in stacks of nearly a thousand latinum from crits on those missions. I prefer Sulu because Chen is usually busy. LOL
borg are great stat sticks even if they don't feel like they have useful abilities. people have mentioned culber, i'll still work with ariam because ill take any mining increase i can get but if people don't want to because the meridian is good enough, that's fine.
@@spiff2268 i mean both work but they both work on your base mining rate im pretty sure. So after the meridian its only a minor increase. Also whats her face. Maniken or whatever also has isogen mining but as a captain skill i think
In terms of abilities and usage, you got a point, but in Away team missions and traits, this seems to require special episode lol. I personally have sulu triats and Rank maxed for flyby mission, Rima add health which is nice for AT mission as well specially for the one that gives props side by side with 10/10 Culbur defo worth it for disco summoning otherwise, no Gotta mention also that In terms of stats, Augment got the 2nd rank after borgs but Indy credits are... ugh
I feel like it would be better to direct people to the officers spreadsheet rather than go through officers like this. Like you said in the video itself, you aim for 10-15 minute videos, there is just not enough time to really go through specific officers in a way that is useful and memorable to a viewer. General principles, what makes an officer valuable, what should you be looking for when you spend those resources those are the kind of things I am looking for personally. Love your content in general, just wanted to share my thoughts on this kind of video.
Culber's officer ability should be tiered up, he increases the cost efficiency of jumping and summoning on the disco by X%(mine is at T4 and i get 20%)
So you said no to origins Stamets & Hadley. Both boost warp speed for distance raiding. If I have 3 survey ships going on a warp raid, A) Stonn, Helvia, & Domitia, B) 2/11, 4/11, & 11/11, and Ship C) Hadley, Pike, & origins Stamets. OR if you have 4 survey ships going, split Hadley & O Stamets apart.
What i do is look at the skills and look for YT videos (preferably Rev DUCE!) of those officers if they are not good I look at stats and see if they are worth upgrading. from there i either dont touch them or do. but all your videos are very informative so it's pretty clear on which officers are the go to.
Blast…so I’m wasting xp on common officers. 😫 I’m a new player at Level 8…are there any commons I should focus on until the higher tiered officers come available?
9:36 Tier up Culber and not Paul Stames. Those 2 are the discovery ship crews (for reduce cost). U never want Paul locked and Culber reduce costs as he get higer tier.
You have a point about Paul Stamets; his officer ability is for defense not for summoning discounts. Culber is the only officer to upgrade for that benefit.
AIRIUM is meh now for the capt ability but for the auger in a TC having a 95% chance Of burning while on a node is awesome. It’s too slow to run around killing things but it’ll hold the nodes while u run around killing with faster ships.
Culber is a good officer to upgrade and many of the others are good on away teams some have key stats for some big missions so i just upgrade everything
I'd like to see a video on when to PVP in the most effective and worthwhile ways. I mean, we could just go flying around blowing stuff up, but there's probably a best practice strategy for who, when, and how to blow up ships and bases that people (me anyway) would find helpful.
Hi Rev can you do a video on G4 mining & when we're able to start getting Uncommon G4 gas ore & crystal in the faction store, & also why can't any of my maxed out Horizons make it to G4 mining areas..? I'm lvl-39 do i need to be in the 40s to get Uncommon G4..? Thanx
Except if you're going to be in a support position for armadas. For that, I'd use Sesha as capt for her crit reduction. Negating the armada crit is super useful.
I have Wesley, Beverly, Worf, and Geordi. No Riker, Picard, Data, or Troi. Is Wesley, Beverly, Worf a good second grinding crew? I do not think it is bad.
What about bottom deck officers? When you get higher levels, multiplr ships, several collecting on away missions, would be good to know which should be put on lowers amd would assume use most upgraded.
For M'Ral (and Otto), don't forget that for away missions that officer ability counts, and somehow I always end up having issues getting enough officers with the Attack stats being high enough.
At ops 34, I don't have enough officer XP or faction credits to upgrade everything I have shards for to T5. I've been putting as much of my XP and limited credits into my lowest ranked uncommons and rares first, to get as many officers up to T2, T3, or ideally T4 and level 20 as I can, rather than push officers to T5 and leveling up from there. This has given me a good chunk of "decent" uncommon and rare officers, which has been incredibly useful for away missions, while my best rare and epic officers can sit on my ships to stack stats. The only officers I have taken to T5 so far have been cadet uhura, cadet mccoy, cadet scotty, tlaan, spock, and joaquin (yes, the last one was something I wish I didn't do as it wasn't a noticeable difference in the mining rate). I have spread out my trait XP among my rare and epic officers that I don't regularly use on ships to get a bunch of primary traits to level 2 or 3 if that trait regularly shows up in away missions. This way I usually have at least one officer that I can use to boost the crit chance in each mission I start (and sometimes 2 or even 3 officers to boost the crit chance). I have put more emphasis on traits that increase the crit chance in the missions where there is a big reward for the critical success, and then on the traits that show up often with moderate rewards. I've all but ignored traits that only seem to show up on the missions with dismal rewards. I'll load away missions up with the rares/epics that have appropriate unlocked traits on an away mission, and then fill up the slots with uncommons that have the better attack/health/defense stats that match the mission, or the rares that I know do not have any traits unlocked. I always start with the missions that have the better rewards first, as if I only have one officer with a specific trait unlocked and 2 missions using that trait, I'd rather that trait get used on the mission with the better reward. I've been following this pattern/algorithm for how I spend my traits and assign officers to the missions as I don't want to mess around with swapping officers between my ships and away missions, and I want to try to get the best rewards out of this relative to the time spent messing around with running these away missions. As much as I want to try to optimize the rewards I get out of away missions, I also want to run them quickly so I can get back to the seemingly infinite amount of other things there are to do in this game..... I seem to have a different mentality towards officers and how to use them than most people..... For instance, I have a T2 Keenser at level 10 right now. I've been using him regularly in away missions. His stats are meh, yes, but they are on par with other most other rare officers, and his primary trait shows up in a bunch of away missions. I only used a relatively small amount of officer XP and trait XP to make him consistently useful in away missions. I thought this was a nice bonus to the loyalty chest update, as I had saved almost all of my loyalty tokens. I think that was totally worth it.
think we'll ever get to a point we can dismiss crew members or something like that? there's crew i dont use at ALL but am so tired of seeing shards go to them
Some rares I disagree with and are great lvlers for stats, my uncommons that mostly go unused are put on away missions instead of hanging around the station.
I have a question about 9 of 11. Is it broken? I put that one with 8 of 11 flanking Chen as captain and my ability to take on hostiles dropped from say being able to do 5 before repairs to only 2 maybe 3. Thanks

Some of your ideas on officers I agree with and some of them I don't but the problem is how come they still haven't added miscellaneous shards this would help with a lot of problems because there are quite a few officers that don't get any love in the game and they need it and it's about time that you should be able to pick where you're charged go with these miscellaneous shards seriously is it scopely thinking that they would lose money doing this if that is the case how is that possible that they would please explain
Joachim and Marla in particular are great for base cracking. Pan & Navi are good speed run crews, especially on Vi'Dars. You can also use Navi with Khan & Joachim for base cracking as well.
You guys should develop an app for this that creates builds.....Since I don't have the money to develop it myself if you guys do and and charge bout 5 bucks I'd buy it! Lol
I tried 5/7/harrison with lvl33 probes on my maxed vidar and come home with 220k nanos..the next time it was 200k and the 3rd time was 210k.. is this just luck?
i'm lvl 23 and somehow got two lucky ultra drops on Marcus in the same week. Should I lvl him right away, 1000 faction credits will take me like 2 weeks to earn.
For once I disagree with the Rev. Gorkon with woltieen and kerla is an early pvp on sally crew. As well djkoi is great on auger. As well without Lorca (scopely hates me) azetbur and gorkon in a d4 is the best i can use
After watching your video about the 5 hostile crews, I found myself wondering if there was another hostile crew we could use that doesn't have Chen or Tl'aan. Even if it isn't as good, just something serviceable for putting on a third ship to speed up a faction hunt for example. Do you know of any?
You can pick the anti-faction officers and set up crews with them. e.g. when I'm hunting Romulans I can use Rare Bev (C) with Yuki and Troi and can do pretty well. Haven't yet explored the other anti-faction officers but it's do-able. I'd bet that's what Scopely were originally planning but didn't realize so put out Chen and T'Laan, which they're now regretting - hence why we're not ever going to get duplicates of them in reverse - as much as players want them.
On my server d4s have lorca as cpt with tilly and honour guard worf please help what officers to counter this there wrecking everyone other d4s augurs and enterprises
Does 5o10 work on armada loot? Do I get more rare armada credits if using her vs not? Or does she only work on loot that goes into your ship’s cargo bay?
He does. But the meridian has such a high mining rate that your best option is just to load up cargo capacity to maximize returns. Or protected cargo if you’re mining in open space. I really only pull out Airiam and Makinen if I’m running extra iso miners like my horizons.
Do you think (or know if) we will ever get another officer like the Cadet Scott that will give us increased warp distance?? (and no, TOS Scotty does not count. It's only +4.....what a load of crap!)
Culber is good for helping Paul Stamets lower the costs for disco warp and summoning. So if I can lower that cost, I upgrade him when available
This was only change to this list. Culber is good
I agree, that is why in the Arc store, I upgraded him to max. saved so many Mushrooms.
Why would you say no to Culber? I personally feel like he's quite useful on a discovery to drop down the mycelium cost
Agreed
I'd promote him, but not level him up. Its not like the disco can win pvp.
I use him just for the summon discount.
Especially because you can add him as sidecar to the scotty's to get discount & range boost.
Surely you'd want to upgrade Culber for the discount on Discovery taxi abilities?
Domitia’s warp speed bump works on an empty hull, despite it’s description.

Why upgrade the Khan crew (Pan, Navi, Joachin, Marla)? Good to get all their shards so they give transporter patterns, but why upgrading them?
Joachim and Marla in particular are great for base cracking. Pan & Navi are good speed run crews, especially on Vi'Dars. You can also use Navi with Khan & Joachim for base cracking as well.
You guys should develop an app for this that creates builds.....Since I don't have the money to develop it myself if you guys do and and charge bout 5 bucks I'd buy it! Lol
The stats of officrs that dont go on ships are still good for aways teams.
Are Tomalak and Sela yes or no?
Can you expand on Burnham? Seems like she should be good in pvp and deciding if I should put trait xp into the officers for her assignment
The TNG crew.
You can use the anti-interceptor crew he mentioned and go hunting with them.
Does tos scotty go beyond warp 4?
What is the correct description of D’Jaoki’s officer ability?
Same as Zhou.
It's been fixed now.
On my server d4s have lorca as cpt with tilly and honour guard worf please help what officers to counter this there wrecking everyone other d4s augurs and enterprises
That's one of the best PVP crews in the game, some of the new romulan officers coming out this month can help counter that!
Does 5o10 work on armada loot? Do I get more rare armada credits if using her vs not? Or does she only work on loot that goes into your ship’s cargo bay?
she works on every thing even faction
why not Origins Stamets??
Would Nero (until I get GG), HG Worf, and Marcus be a good crew on an Augur against Enterprises?
Mireck over Nero. Burn and anti Fed.
i got Kuron from a lucky pull in the new ultra recruit
Great for heavy shot first round ships like Saladin, Sarcophagus, and Pilum!
@@RevDeuce who would you pair with Kuron and how would you stack below? Just curious as I am only a few sherds from Kuron.
Thanks for that video Rev.
Doesn’t officer Kras counter Yuki?
Does Airiam's mining ability not stack with the Maridian?
He does. But the meridian has such a high mining rate that your best option is just to load up cargo capacity to maximize returns. Or protected cargo if you’re mining in open space. I really only pull out Airiam and Makinen if I’m running extra iso miners like my horizons.
Do you know if there will be any sourcing for Picard any time soon
I do not ,sadly. I bet he gets the premium label and takes awhile to find him in the ultra chests.
The 8k tokens gave me the last two 5 of 10 shards to unlock her, so yeah, real nice there.
Who is good to use with cpt Tilly?
Lorca (C) then Killy, and depending on the ship, I have them in my Sally with Harrison... killer crew!!
Why do my next gen characters have no traits listed on my game
Common officers don't have traits. Uncommons have 1, Rares 2, Epics 3
So why raise commons up. Tori on away missions no empath
Got a pull of Kuron last week.
Rev you said there was a new Klaa. What am I missing?
I believe it's the Augument crew - Pan, Rima, Navi that's a new speed crew.
What is up with the Twitter shot? Is there info? 👀🙈
How do you use the hull breach augments?
Its just the a good speed crew, early tiers they are a death sentence in pvp.
Pan as Capt. Navi and Rima. Pan starts a hull breach on your ship.... Then Navi and Rima powers kick in.
who is the best officer to use for hull breach (you said no to gorkon)?
Lorca
Gorkon, krell, kang, Azetbur, and Lorca
4:14 Yes or no? 😡
Hallo! How can I properly use Lorca?
I love using him for pvp, I use him as capt, with killy and Harrison in my maxed Sally and have killed a lvl25 D4 and a lvl 20 Enterprise
How can you tell what tier an officer is? I don't understand that. Thank you.
By their ranks. If you look on each officer card they'll have a rank and then next to it is the tier we can by: I, II, III, IV, V
@@RevDeuce I see it now! thanks, never noticed that and was always afraid to ask. Appreciate it!
Very helpful as usual!
Do you think (or know if) we will ever get another officer like the Cadet Scott that will give us increased warp distance?? (and no, TOS Scotty does not count. It's only +4.....what a load of crap!)
I do not know of one coming up, no.
@@RevDeuce And here we are three months letter with Ghrush!
The stamps are my team, thats an epic shirt 👍
